Hi, great content/veido! I have planterfashaits as well, second time in my life, this time lasting for 2 yrs. Was just wondering if you're surgeon performed the tenex procedure on you.?? Have you heard anything about this. I just had the tenex procedure 6 weeks ago, alone with prp injection and I am receiving relief and headed in the right direction.

I have heard of the Tenex but I didn't have it done. PRP was an option for me but I opted to go right for the surgery. I had a very severe case so after all was said and done surgery was the only thing that would fix it.

@AshleyOverly so glad to here you found a great surgeon to help you, cuz this foot pain ( Plantar fasciitis) isn't fun! It really changes all that you could do in the past..Good luck with your recovery.

I had this surgery a week ago, I live alone and have had no help taking care of me. I'm in a walking boot. And, been able to rest very little. But, for the most part I am doing well. It's the outside of my foot that hurts now. I limped everyday, since mine came on suddenly early this year. Injections didn't help!

I am now three and a half weeks out from my surgery. I am still sleeping in the boot and walking with the boot. I remove the boot to do my stretching exercises and scar massage a few times a day. I am now allowed to shower standing. I was restricted to a shower chair for the first two weeks. I have recently developed a rash on my leg and I am not sure if it's from the boot (friction) or something different. I hope your recovery is going well. It gets easier everyday.

Could you possibly give me an update? Doctor suggests I have this surgery and they’re supposed to call me for scheduling but I don’t know if I’m going to do it…

After the surgery the outside of the foot will hurt, it's called lateral column pain. My surgeon advised me it will get a little worse after surgery and then once you start to walk without the boot and your gait gets back to normal it will go away. He was right. It hurt like crazy for about a week after I took off the boot and then it got better once I started walking normal. Take one day at a time and don't push yourself.

Do it! I have thanked my surgeon several times for giving me my mobility and my life back. I can dance again, jog, and run up and down the stairs, not to mention no pain everyday.

Almost 1 week after my surgery. I am non weight bearing as i had both the calf release and pf release

Have you done a follow-up video?
@AshleyOverly2 ай бұрын
No I have not. I am almost two years out of surgery and I am so happy to say it's given me my life back. It took around 15 months for my calf to get strong enough to stand on my tiptoes again, and for my calf to get as strong as it was before surgery. My PF is fantastic. This surgery changed my life.

I’m having this surgery in a week. How was pain level when the block wore off? How was pain through recovery?
@AshleyOverly9 ай бұрын
I had a really good nerve block which lasted over a week, that isn't typical per my doctor as the average is a couple days. I was non weight bearing for four days and I know that helped. I didnt really have pain, more discomfort.

Sorry had to look up the video KZbin didn’t notify me of your response. Were you given pain medication and did you use it or feel you did or didn’t need it?

You talked about other conditions of your lower leg/ankle/Achilles tendon, did your doctor diagnosis you with these conditions? Any info would be great, aside from the plantar fasciitis I’ve been diagnosed with I’m feeling pain around my calve/Achilles tendon but neither one of my podiatrist have been able to elaborate what this may be. Did you have an MRI done to help with dx of these other issues? I think I’m coming close to needing a plantar fascia release. The pain is debilitating 😢.
@AshleyOverly Жыл бұрын
Hi! Yes, I've been diagnosed with Achilles tendinosis, which is a degenerative breakdown of the tendon, down where the tendon inserts onto the heel bone (calcaneus). I did have an MRI to officially diagnose me. I am almost three months out from surgery and I have my life back, I am so grateful I was able to have this procedure done.

@@AshleyOverly That’s great to hear! Did they do just the plantar fasciectomy release or something in addition to that? I am having surgery in May for my plantar fasciitis.
@AshleyOverly Жыл бұрын
Yes, I also had the gastrocnemius (calf muscle) release in addition to the plantar fascia release.

I could have been if I wanted to but being I was non weight-bearing for several days and stayed in the bedroom I opted to use a walker.
