I had plantar fascia surgery Feb 6th 2024 followed everything to a T. Is been three months and I was feeling great until I developed a small pain at the back of the arch where the heel starts. It was tolerable. I went for a walk on a flat trail and my entire arch began to hurt tremendously. I was hobbling back to my car. Now my whole arch is in pain. Do you think I could have torn the fascia? I seriously haven’t even biked or hiked just normal day to day

I too had plantar fascia release surgery 20 years ago. I was told that I could resume normal activity immediately and stupidly I did. 24 h ours later I was walking and the toe of my foot did not rise as I was walking and I tripped and tore more of the cut plantar fascia as well as the stitches. I have suffered with a flat arch and unstable, collapsing ankle/arch, that is now causing calf and tibialis anterior pain and cramping. I am terrified of the surgeries because I am 63 and fear the bones will deteriorate faster with age. I understand your explanation stating that success can't be determined until after the surgery, but I honestly can't risk making this worse. Can you give me more info or reference reading about long-long--term prognosis for post surgical deterioration of bone placement/jointing after plantar fascia release with additional tears. I am terrified of a tendon rupture at this point. Any advice would be welcome. Thanks.

I can’t offer any advice based on that amount of information. I don’t provide medical advice my social media comments but we could get on a WebCam cold or phone call to discuss in detail, if needed.
