Only found out about these plastic shed bases which will be much easier than the concrete base I was considering doing. Did you anchor your shed base at all and if so, how did you anchor it with a plastic base?

Do you ever have any issues with damp or sweating inside? Feel comfortable leaving electrical items inside? Would you feel comfortable installing a light/plug in terms or dampness etc? Thanks!

Hi, I'm an Italian guy who saw the video of your garden shed, I too have the same problem with the door that doesn't close properly at the bottom. I wanted to know. I saw that you used a kind of small tool.... which one? a small piece of plastic

Hi Dick ... I bought a Keter Manor (6ft x 5ft) based on your shed building videos ... I think it's great but I have a question ... do you find the wood that you have stored in it gets moldy? ... if so what do you suggest to prevent that, in these plastic sheds? ... thanks

Just assembled ours. My doors don't align. There is a large gap at the bottom. What is the attachment you used called so I could get one too? I might need to add a strip inside to close the gap or else the rain would get in.

If you installed this on a paved area I assume the base isn't needed? Also I might be moving at some point, do you think one of these would come apart and go back up easily?

Dig some holes put in some empty 2 litre coke bottles with tops chopped off. Fill with cement and push threaded rod through the holes into the cement. Alternatively thick cardboard tube from a carpet shop dig in fill with cement and put threaded rod into cement and bolt down through holes in the corners.

Read someone said to put a few bags of sand on the roof panels to keep them in the slots. I reckon those hinges need some security screws as someone can easily unscrew one side and get in.

I've gotten this shed, it's to put on decking, what kind of base prep, if any, do I need? A lot of sites say it's fine to go on decking but others suggest the same gravel base, only I don't understand how it won't slip when it rains

Useful set of videos on this shed, thanks, and useful to see it withstood high winds. Have now ordered one, as like you, maintaining wood is a pain. Would it be pointless to add any clear silicone sealant to the panel joints, to help its rigidity ?.

Hello, glad you found it useful. If memory serves it was around 20 bags at 20kg each - seems like an awful lot given the size of the shed (6x5)! But the ground was fairly uneven and as a general rule any groundworks just eat up materials. Hope that helps.

Great, and glad you've found it useful. It was the Keter Manor 6ft x 5ft model. As for the base doesn't look like Amazon have it in stock currently however have a search around to see what you can find including eBay (as looks like there are other suppliers so look into them). I found the ProBase very good for the reasons highlighted, however there are others out there which can do the job well too which could also fit your needs. Good luck!

Hello. I've had zero problems and everything inside is dry - both from the rain & condensation! It is fairly shaded which no doubt helps but does have some good vents (which in theory you could easily & cheaply add to if needed)

You're not meant to. This plastic box is secured down only by the weight of the contents. So make sure your tools are heavy or store a few bags of cement, lol.

Nice review! I am considering the 4x3 version to vertically store one bicycle, or two if possible. Do you think the walls can support the diagonal pressure of a bike? The 3' wall would be against a concrete wall and the 4' against a polycarbonate one. Thanks!!
@diydick434
@diydick434 3 жыл бұрын
Hello. Glad you've found it useful. I think you'll find it may be a little tight with a 4x3, and also depends on how big & heavy the bikes are! For an ebike I'd say no, but multiple kids bikes would be ok. I got a lot more overall stability when I put the racks in & loaded them up. but of course that takes room away from the bikes. You could always consider adding some wooden supports internally to help if needed (or as you've mentioned use existing surrounding walls to brace), but definitely double check the sizes of everything to make sure you can get everything in & out ok. Good luck!

These things will not stand up to the rigors of life like a decent wooden shed will. A friend of mine has one, it sweats like hell inside, condensation is ridiculous and the plastic breaks very easily under the slightest impact. In contrast, I have a large wooden shed, yes it was expensive but with wooden sheds you get what you pay for, mine is now 12 years old, it has no signs of rot anywhere and it has never warped, I've replaced the roofing felt once and it's still pretty much as solid as it was the day it was erected. 3 years later, my friends plastic shed is now going to be replaced at whatever cost, so sorry, waste of time and money in my opinion.

I have just purchased a 8 x11 keter shed and I have found your video helpful. Hovever, I have a question about the larger sections of the shed, ie the top triangular front section. I have noticed the edges are not straight inside, they are wavy. For instance the top point is pushed down. I have tried using the polystarene that is enclosed to try and get the shape back. What I'd like to know is, will this affect the appearance of the shed? Or the way it is put together? I'd be grateful if you could help. Thank you

@diydick434
@diydick434 3 жыл бұрын
Hello. It's possible but would definitely depend on your climate... if it helps I wouldn't use one in the UK for an office, as believe it'll be too hot in summer (especially if in the sun) and too cold in Winter (even with some heating). As good as it is it's just not really designed for that purpose. Hope that helps!
