As a black man Robbie, thank you so much for sharing your experience. Myself been pulled over a couple times and because of the perception of who I am has made this happen. Luckily, I always been raised to become cool and collect, which allow me to tell my story to this day. I’ve never been locked up, never been arrested. I do have a GED, but also a masters degree and currently a educator. Yes the US has a misconception of people of color and we all know this. You cannot turn the blind eye and ignore the truth. Thanks for sharing your experience much love my brother.

@k1ng_chicken something people say to make eachother feel better about their white guilt social justice warrior nonsense
@Boom-yu1ce15 күн бұрын
@@k1ng_chicken ”your truth” is slang for “your lived experiences” To “speak your truth” means to speak openly and honestly about your lived experiences, with the understanding that many people have been taught to stay silent because their lived experiences are inconvenient or uncomfortable for others to hear. To “live your truth” means to make your life choices based on what makes most sense to you as opposed to basing those choices on shame and social stigma. Often times slang gets used really inconsistently, that does not seem to be the case here. I’ve seen people from a variety of cultural and political backgrounds use these words to mean essentially the same thing. The denotation is pretty consistent, the connotation less so-if you think someone’s “truth” sucks, you likely want to them to feel shame. To be clear, this is just my observation of how people use these turns of phrase. (I’m a bit of an etymology nerd)

Walking on roads should not be illegal or questioned. I wish our society made the roads more walkable and safe for pedestrians. Relying on cars is just a way for the government to control us, unfortunately. You handled this situation very well. It think it started out as capitalism, not some overarching conspiracy. The early auto manufacturers bought up and dismantled much of the preexisting rail in the country to force people to use cars. That had to include some political manuevering as well, but I don't think that was the origin of the wave, that came from the corporate structure and the pursuit of profit.

I believe it's something that's progressed from the old adage "it takes a village." Obviously I wasn't around (or certainly don't remember being around) when the first Bipeds morphed and morphed and morphed, but their is safety in numbers (if you're on the same page that is), different skill sets help a group and life is a little bit easier. We have definitely taken it to a ridiculous level, and although change is happening, we're certainly not going to dump countries anytime soon. They don’t build sidewalks for foot travelers, they really prioritize cars in America. I live in Europe and my children and I walk everywhere or take publican transportation, and lots of parents with kids walk places, not necessarily far distances. But it is quite common to see families going from one village to another via the forest/ through fields, just to have a nice Saturday afternoon. That never happens in America where people drive their car down the street and won’t even walk one block in the sunshine. Edit to say: the police in America think people existing outside is suspicious. Walk or running is discouraged, go inside to a gym if you want to walk, they say. They want empty neighborhoods and roads full of cars and isolated people. It’s scary, it’s not a natural way of living. Also you can’t even pee in the forest there you have to pee in bathrooms built in the natural parks! I’m happy to live in Europe where we can pee even on the side of the road it’s completely legal, and be a little bit more in harmony with nature, picking mushrooms and climbing trees.

Corruption can express itself in weird ways, like fascist philsophy getting into the training docket.

The cops spoke with one another. Either directly or over the radio. Thats the reason you were stopped 2 times in 1 day. Also, if you're comfortable I'd recommend recording police encounters to hold them accountable and for your protection. You do not "legally" have to identify yourself if you haven't been suspected of a crime. Although they don't like hearing it, it is worth saying outloud to them in some instances. Best of luck with the rest of your walk Robin. Ive been thoroughly enjoying the videos.

@jean6453 A lot of drunks try to leverage that whole thing to avoid being searched and found out, so they have gotten used to pressuring people. I don't even like to watch those police pullover videos, just when a housemate is watching nearby, and I've seen drunks try to record themselves and assert rights and the cops increase the pressure in direct response to the resistance. If you haven't done anything and have no drugs or whatever, being passive is the best choice. Doing otherwise will change nothing and just get you screwed. Sometimes it's best to know when you're beat, not defeating the justice system.

@@HoboGardenerBen Hello again. I don't think passive is the best approach, assertive would be ideal.
