My Porsche Macan Rear Subframe Replacement - Part 2

This is the second part of the rear subframe replacement video series on my 2015 Porsche Macan. Join me, as I continue my adventures with this project.
In this video, I completely disassemble all subframe components, wash them, and install Powerflex bushings in upper and lower control arms, as well as the bearing knuckle.

Yeah, if you are going with Powerflex, know that the upper control arms are very easy to do. However, the lower control arm wishbone is a nightmare (spent a full day only changing those) because (1) they are a PITA to remove and (2) the Powerflex sleeves are a PITA to install. Better if you have a press. I also tried to do the toe arms with Powerflex, but the sleeves would not go in no matter how hard I tried… so, that’s why I ended up getting the 034 motor sport adjustable toe arms, which ended up working even better… This is why I bought the whole control arm kit for the front…. Thanks man! I’m learning as I go… I really started working more seriously in my cars during COVID… before that, it was limited to an oil change here and there… if there is anything this had taught me is that having the right tools, and approaching the work with patience and preparation are the most important ingredients for success. If I were to publish all the mistakes and oops I make, I would need 1 hour per video…😂. Maybe I just need to do that… probably videos would be more entertaining…😊. And, yes, the north east is merciless with cars. Snow/road salt season is brutal. Again, thanks for your kind words and for your support. More content on subframe coming soon. Probably 2 more videos… is just too much content for a single video.

@@porscheDIY That's what's nice about living here in the West, no rust. The crappy portion is, only having the use of 91 octane. Whereas you guys get 93. You are so right, the right tool (s) for the job is so under rated for a DIYer. But yes, more videos coming is definitely great news. 👍 Longer videos with the "Oopsies" left in them would make for great content, but also make your editing life, that much easier. Take care, Sir.

Hello dear Greetings from Chile I own a 2015 Porsche Macan turbo. My mechanic told me that I should change the subframe of my vehicle, which is why I need to buy one. My question is all Macan models come with the same sub chassis. greetings

The rear subframe has not changed, they are the same. There are a few differences in the positioning of the differential bushings that you can address with the right tools (see part # 3 of the series).
