Auto white balance means extra work to color match all the photos. A fixed white balance makes it easier to apply one adjustment to the rest of the photos. You are right... shooting in RAW gives to the option to manipulate with more tools. It’s just extra work.

I've seen several of your X1D videos. Very helpful. Hey, do you know if there's a way to have the preview or jpeg capture show in B&W on the camera? I know the colors are amazing, but I do a lot of B&W work and it helps me compose that way (like a Fuji). I think even Leica has this mode.

Yes Leica has this mode, I am not sure of the X1D, unfortunately I sold the X1D :/

Hi James On your first set, according to viewfinder infos you are 1 EV overexposed because you reached the speed limit of 1/2000.

Thanks!! yes thats just the down side of the XCD lenses maxed at 1/2000 of a second, so didn't really make a difference if I lowered down exposure compensation, but wanted to show the viewers :)

Guam Photography one feature of the X1D that I don't really understand is that in Auto expose modes the same viewfinder information gives exposure correction value and, or, exposure error value when one of the exposure triangle figure is out of range. When exposure correction is done with the touchscreen a + - symbol lights up in the viewfinder, but it doesn't light up when the correction is done with the rear dial !

You're welcome, its really hard to say, I do prefer to shoot with a Leica M rangefinder, for image output the Hasselblad X1D.

Could you all stop this 12,000, 20,000 even 50,000 ISO non-sense?!!! If you're doing a surveillance and working for the fbi, yes. Not for this kind of work or landscape, product, event photography.
