This is the kind of board I like. Helps to focus on playing and creating. Providing many sonic options without too much distraction.

All killer no filler dude. Love those Gator boards, and the RE-202 and DL4 combo is mad. So cool

They are excellent boards! It definitely is a little mad and overkill haha.

My signal path atm: - TU-3w (tuner) - Em-Drive (boost) - Odr-1 (main drive) - Count to Five (micro looper/delay) - Dunlop DVP4 (volume pedal) (need a vertext boost because the pedal is crackling xO) - Emperor v2 (chorus/vibrato) - Lucky cat (mono delay) - DD-200 (stereo delay) - RV-5 (stereo reverb) (still incredible pedal I think) Love what this board can do and it is quite small actually, even tho it might seem like a lot of pedals. If I ever upgrade to a bigger board I would like to upgrade to a RV-200 & put on there a DL4 mkii (mainly for the looping part)
@coljimusicКүн бұрын
That sounds like an awesome board! I’ve always wanted to try an ODR but have never found one in a shop! Those would be really great upgrades! The DL4 is so good for looping!

Sooo tempted by that Color Box. I heard it described as a way to get that DI sound live, seems great for clarity. I’ve seen you mention the Zoom MultiStomp in previous videos- any reason why that doesn’t make the cut anymore? It’s on my board rn in place of a dedicated EQ, but also use it as a tuner, octaver, and auto wah. It’s definitely harder to dial in tones with it though.
@coljimusic3 күн бұрын
It’s really an amazing and versatile pedal! I’ve used it for that DI sound and it really sounds great! It’s a lot of money upfront for a pedal but honestly you get your moneys worth. I actually sold that pedal a few years back when I sold all my pedals! I wish I kept it though because I would have 100% put it on the board. I agree with you it can really cover a ton of ground and is really a sleeper pedal in my opinion. May have to grab another one haha

@@coljimusicHave you tried the Colour Box with vocals? Mine is great with guitar, but too noisy for vocals.
@coljimusicКүн бұрын
I haven’t tried it yet for vocals but I plan on it soon. I am guessing it will be a little bit noisy as I do find the pedal does add some extra noise into my signal chain.

I uses the Source Audio True Spring for trem+reverb. Also acts as an excellent driver back to the amp.

I’m glad you enjoyed! I’m using Line 6 Helix Native and am using the Mesa Boogie Lonestar model! I find it’s the closet sounding to my Mesa Boogie Fillmore 50

Would you have considered the Boss DD20 to replace the DL4 if it was available?
@coljimusic3 күн бұрын
I was actually looking at the Boss DD500! I would have definitely considered getting it but someone was selling a Line 6 DL4 Mk2 locally so I didn't bother trying. I haven't actually checked out the Boss DD20 though, is that what you use?
@chavito3053 күн бұрын
yep! It’s a thrill. 5 banks for memory and multiple forms of delay available, it’s cheap too. Give it a look, it’s worth your time and highly considerable when compared to the DL4
@coljimusicКүн бұрын
That sounds awesome! I didn’t realize it had so many banks on it! I will definitely check it out, thanks for the recommendation!
@paressehyltonКүн бұрын
But the DL4mk2 you can reassign the tap tempo button to be bank2 selector, then you have 6 presets. Or you can add a mini 2 momentary switches unit (like that 20$ hotone fs1) and make it bank2 or looper function selector, or hold button / infinity switch. And it has so many sounds available (even hidden reverbs) and that amazing looper

I want to start getting pedals for my bass. What would you recommend as a good first pedal? I like lots of music so something versatile maybe? 🤔
@coljimusic3 күн бұрын
That's a hard question to answer! A good place to start could potentially be a multi-effects pedal like Zoom MultiStomp For Bass. That way you get a ton of effects at once and can figure out from there what you like or don't like!
@integerdivision3 күн бұрын
On the multi-effects front, a lot of them can be overwhelming and “menu-divey” which can turn a lot of people off, so if that sounds like you, I recommend the Chroma Console - it’s pricey, but it’s a great deal that holds it’s value an includes a diverse set of effects in four modules that can be chained together in any order to do just about anything. I highly recommend it, even if some effects wouldn’t be suitable for the bass. And if you find yourself wanting a little more from a particular effect, then you could look into pedals that specialize more.
@mad._.y2 күн бұрын
@@integerdivision thank you for that clarification! I’ll look into both pedals and see what I would be most comfortable with :)

Why so many preamp and EQ?
@coljimusic3 күн бұрын
I like having as many options as possible! EQ pedals are great for tone-shaping so for example, if I am using my GE-7 as a boost, I can use my Colour Box as a slightly different EQ setting on my board or vice versa. When I am recording as well it is fun to use both together to get some really interesting sounds!

Instead of duelist should look into blues power
@coljimusic3 күн бұрын
I think in retrospect I would have liked that pedal more than the Duelist for sure. Also great channel name!

Boss ME_90 in manual mode is a totally practical pedal board. This is complex indulgence.
