They are so beautiful and easy too, in my experience.

I’ve recently gotten into prayer plants because I find them easy to keep in LECA. their water requirements prevented me from buying them before , but I’m so happy I have theM now. I agree they are works of art. Your voice is so soothing. Thank you for a wonderful video.

What a great idea, using LECA, but I will admit it isn't something I intend to explore any time soon. Thank you so much, Leigh, for the lovely compliment. 😊

Thanks, Tameka, you too. I think the Maranta is a safe bet, she really is the easiest one I own.

I have about 12 calathea and 3 different maranta. I have found maranta are much easier for me . Good luck and enjoy!

Prayer plants are my absolute favorite!! I love how striking all the leaves are with all the detailed markings and colors. The peacock plant really is a stunner, the contrast is amazing! the leaves are so glossy too 😍 you have such an amazing collection 💚💚

I didn't know they were your favourites. I don't blame you, they are unlike other plants. Thank you, for the kind words❤❤.

They are divas for sure but so lovely and a lesson in mindfulness. My Vitatta is my problem child.😂

Hello and thanks for your video which I enjoyed. It‘s really difficult to say which is my favorite of your calathea, maybe the Makoyana, but I like them all. The Rufibarba is so nice, too but only knew it from videos. Meanwhile I have 4 Calatheas (Freddy, Makoyana, Vittata and Yellow Fusion), all grown from baby plants and they seem to like my care which I am grateful of. I Put them into self watering pots and they are watered with destilled water and every second time mixed with fertilizer ((the half amount of what is proposed), and add the water into the reservoir of the self watering pot.They are placed besedes a big window, not in front of it) where is enough indirect light. Maybe I will try to take care for a Maranthe light veins soon, hoping she would feel good in my conditions as well. 🌱💓

Thank you for watching. The rufibarba is lovely but a pest magnet. Glad to hear your prayer plants are doing so well. 😊

Beautiful prayer plants Kathi! 🥰The only one I’ve been able to keep alive is my rattlesnake. Until the last couple weeks. No idea why all of a sudden his leaves are shriveling up since he has been quite happy for over a year.

Thank you, Sarah. Oh no, I'm sorry to hear about your rattlesnake, but I can totally relate. Diva! 😂

I love prayer plants. I have a leuconeura kerchoveana (we call them "sapito" little toad) that's growing like crazy, I have it right by a east facing window but here's the thing: I had another one previous to this one which was doing great and one day it started dying for no reason (I checked for pests and nothing) I waited for the rhizome to produce leaves again but after few months I realized it was dead. I also "have" a ctenanthe burle-marxii amagris (my favorite one) who one day just started dying as well so I moved the rhizomes to a side and planted a small calathea lancifolia on the other side... The ctenanthe has been producing tiny leaves but like whatever, the lancifolia is doing pretty good, they are like a meter away from the window and next to them I have a small stromanthe sanguinea that's doing OK, but I think she wants more light. Anyway I think they do alright because I'm an overwaterer 😅, I don't have a humidifier... But I'm aware one day they might just die, it seems like they do that kinda randomly 🤷♀️, so don't feel bad and try again. I will definitely get more.

Thank you so much for sharing your experiences. Clearly they can be unpredictable, which makes them even more interesting. 😂 And yes, they definitely don't mind overwatering from this overwaterer. I will be trying more, and changing up the care if they don't do well.

Your maranta is beautiful! I would say they are my favorite although my lemon lime maranta does not do as well as my red maranta. I struggle with my rufibarba, so I’ll try the higher light. 🙏🏼🌱

Thank you, Teresa. I haven't seen the Lemon lime in Australia, but I would love to add that one. LMK how your rufibarba does. 😊

I love prayer plants, but they are a bit fussy for my under watering self. I’ve had amazing luck with calathea burle marx though. Never gets the brown tips my others do. If you can find one, I highly suggest it :). Very similar to your mokayana. Off to look for a mokayana for myself 😂
@NerdyKathi3 жыл бұрын
I will keep an eye out for the burle marx. I think I should get it just for the name. 😂 I hope you get the makoyana, Tracy, it's a beauty.

Ooooh, Kathi that poor lancifolia. No joke, those are the easiest for me. I have three and they are all planted in narrow, tall pots. Just by coincidence, not on purpose and they are doing fine after 2 years. Don't know why the pot shape matters, but perhaps it's because it holds more moisture for the bottom of the roots. Love your collection, especially the illustris and thr leuconeura.
@NerdyKathi3 жыл бұрын
LOL I know, my poor lancifolia. Isn't it odd how it's so easy for you, but only given me grief? I will try it again, one day. And oh, if you were here, I'd give you the illustris. But not the leuconeura.😂
