All opinions are my own. I was not paid to make this video. I am so glad I decided to get PRK surgery, even if healing was hell for 3 days. It is so worth it to not have the hassle of glasses or contacts!

Oh goodness I'm so glad you're feeling better! I get migraines and when one of those hits I'm affected for a couple days to a week or so afterwards and I'm extremely sensitive to lights and screens. It is so frustrating to have to live in the dark without something to look at because it makes you hurt. I can totally emphasize with that. So sweet Phaedra stayed by your side like that!! My kitties do the same thing! :) So glad to hear you overcame your anxiety and came through the other side, that takes a lot of strength! You're a strong person and I'm so proud of you! :)

I am so happy for you that you did PRK. It sounds so scary to be awake before the Xanax took effect. I'm sorry, you had to be more scared than you're telling us. Completely understand. It's your eyes; your vision. One minor mishap and the results could have been detrimental. You have a beautiful aura and good karma galore. Only positive things will come your way. I hope you'll be less sensitive in the future. Feel better soon. Peace, love and healing energy sent your way!

Hey phyrra I had a consult this week, the dr. Told me I had dry eyes but not severe enough to not get surgery done. I'm a little worried about actually going through with it now:( he also suggested the no cut flap. When you had the consult what did the doctor say bout the condition of your eyes? Did he say you had dryness? Or was everything fine?

Sarahi Giles I don't have dryness. I'm also apparently ahead of the projected healing curve according to the dr (saw him today) because I've been using the drops exactly as prescribed.

I have an Astigmatism as well as a lazy eye. I was nearsighted (well still am - but to a lesser degree) I had Laser PRK almost 20 years ago. (interestingly enough I paid the same price you did!) I remember it being fast and I remember all those drops. I don't recall the experience being particularly painful though. It did regress somewhat about 8 years later but I have been told that it can happen, and also I have halo effect around lights- another side effect I am told is much less now a days. Sorry you had a hard experience!
@Phyrra
@Phyrra 9 жыл бұрын
Jade Horner-Chinappi Wow! Happy you were able to do it but sorry to hear about the regression. I actually have less halo now than I did before, which is pretty amazing. The laser they used they were able to custom adjust to address that issue.

Phyrra Nyx Interesting that they adjusted to laser to compensate for the halo. I don't think that was an option back when I had it done. I never regret mine though, as I started wearing glasses at 18 months old, I was very glad to be rid of them!

@jobbing7642
@jobbing7642 2 жыл бұрын
@@souleymeneabbadi3891 I recommend LASIK at a clinic that specializes in it specifically. You will pay more money but it is worth it. LASIK is best for the common person who wants a super quick recovery. You can go back to work the next day. PRK is for the athletes or people who want to join the army. It will take up to a month to recover. It’s also very uncomfortable and possibly painful but it is still worth it. I’m not a doctor so please get a recommendation from your physician and ultimately choose the route that you think is best for you.

Hi, I did PRK vision correction surgery in 2015. In 2022, because of the tech work I do and screentime, my astigmatism came back in my left eye and I had to wear glasses when using computers. This year (2024), my up close vision is weaking but I still have 20/20 for driving, so I just had to get a slight script for reading glasses.

Awww!!! I'm so glad you are feeling better! I want to do it but my anxiety and extremely low pain intolerance make it a "never mind..I'm good.." kind of thing. That said I have full sets of upper & lower dental implants that were started 4 years ago. My dentist uses "sedation dentestry" to help relax patients rather than putting them under. They told me I wouldn't feel or remember anything. w.r.o.n.g,

aniska628 I have anxiety that I take daily medication to control, and I also work out at the gym, which has helped to greatly reduce it. The surgery itself was not painful and was done in 5 minutes. If you're a candidate for Lasik, it's a quick and easy heal. PRK is more painful, but once you get through the first 3 days, it's not as bad.
@aniska628

I'm not on an actual "anti-anxiety" med for that, though I probably should be. I have bad PTSD from the car wreck that killed my husband. I don't handle traffic very well. I'm on Elavil for my migraines and BP because it encourages blood flow. I can remember when my dentist prescribed the meds and said, you'll take them and wake up when you get home. I was awake and could feel everything from the bone grafts in my sinuses, and the placement of the implant posts - 9 on top and 6 on the bottom. I found out that my regular Dr at the time had me on more codeine than what is usually prescribed for cancer patients. My body had adjusted so, oral sedation just didn't work. /shrug I want to apologize... I didn't realize you had already had your procedure done, when I tweeted you.
