I always forget someone this time it was Nathan chen *facepalm*. Basically, my quick opinion of him is that he is definitely at the top of his game right now and ahead of everyone in terms of technical skills. And because he seems to be peaking at the correct time it will be exciting to see him tackle this Olympic season. Maybe he’ll redeem himself after his last Olympic attempt.
@elizabethtalmo23563 жыл бұрын
I do agree but his costumes are not it yuzurus costumes are the best
@andreeat6083 жыл бұрын
I kind of find him pretty perfect personality wise. Hard working, serios, drama free. The only thing that maybe could be missing is the in depth innovatory persona - he also goes risk free. He seems like he tries to do better for better results not for the thrill of it, for a legacy etc
@QQ-wl6yt3 жыл бұрын
Some of these guys must be kidding. Nathan Chen is the most stylish, sophisticated, and interesting skater (with the exception of Kolyada's 2021 WCHs LP, and especially the ballet-studio-inspired costume). Yuzuru is pretty impressive when he does some very intricate transitions in or out of a jump, or with his eyes closed, etc. But he's put on this pedestal as if he did that for every single element. And in reality, the only time I've remotely seen what the fuzz about him is all about is in his Otonal SP. But therein lies the thing with him, that's the only program where he is sort of embracing his cheesy and corny style to the max. So it ends up looking campy in a good way bc he's owning it. His traditional Japanese music programs are actually quite tasteful, so no problem with those. For every other program, however, it's like he is trying too hard to be cool or modern or who knows... I know nothing about his personal life but it comes across as if he were a gay pop star whose managers force him to live in the closet and perform flirting to his screaming girl fans because of all the $takes$$$ on the line. I hope that's not the case and that if he insists on the bedazzled unitards that look like a rhythmic gymnastics costume, he just owns the whole look and goes for it all the way. Also, that he gets the upper body strength that he mentioned needing for the 4A, mostly because it will do something about his very narrow shoulders and maybe the sillhouette of those damn costumes will look at least a little better.

@@QQ-wl6yt Yuzu's Let's Go Crazy or Let Me Entertain You programs were choreographed by Jeff Buttle who always finds the perfect choices for him. He choses such programs because Yuzu has the personality to perform rock star programs, he has the charisma to do it. Let's Go Crazy was the most difficult short program ever so far, with the 4Lo, 4S, incredible difficult transitions in and out of his jumps and crazy amount of transitions, one foot skating in that program plus he also needed to perform it like a rock star. He isn't trying to be cool...he IS incredlby cool. Parisienne Walkways was another Buttle choreography, and that program fit perfectly like a glove. He has no managers/he isn't signed with an management company so everything you see on the ice about him comes from either his choreographers or Yuzuru himself. And his shoulders are narrow to you? I don't think so, he's got pretty wide shoulders. It's Chen who was really narrow (and hunched) shoulders, not Hanyu:)

Yuzuru Hanyu... for me is the best ever and no one will ever compares to him. Even after his retirement later, I don't think anyone can be a better representative of male figure skating. I don't care if people are going to disagree with me or not, but man it is just the reality. His present on the ice, his momentum, his performances, his charisma, his everything OMG i cant even describe any further how amazing he is. I think almost all people that follow figure skating know his goodness and can not deny that he is just that good. He may lost in competition, but man he creates history that we wont ever can forget. the GOAT forever and ever.

I really hope Sasha goes to the OG. If she lands a 3A, she definitively will, they just cannot ignore a girl who can land 4Lz, 4T, 4S, 4F, 3A and probably 4Loop.
I am so confused why people are now talking about Shoma as if he has a reputation of not practicing, or something. He used to be in the second placement all the time, which obviously requires hard work. Recently, or I should say after he has gone to Rambiel, I noticed how international skating fans are talking about him as if he does not give effort enough. Are there like a weird person or skater in that camp who is jealous of him and trying to spread bad rumours of him or something? There are many skaters who never land a quad or triple axel consistently and people do not talk about them like that.
@deeeveeniy3 жыл бұрын
No it isn't like that after the 2018 Olympics I think during the 2018-. 2019 season Shoma was coachless for a while a very long while, I heard it was a sort of experiment for him but im not so sure. Shoma is an amazing athlete but in terms of consistency that is a bit of a problem there are a lot of skaters who aren't consistent but in the level shoma is skating in I understand why fans complain a bit. Shoma is with lambiel now and I'm happy cause he looks super happy skating. His world's performance was amazing and he lands jumps more consistently now.

what I don't get is that she (and Scherbakova) still look like little kids skating and playing grown-up. Even before last fall, Valieva already has been looking like a more fluid and strong skater than any of these so-called "3A". Hopefully Trusova will grow into it and remain a strong jumper. For Anna I just hope they go for better suitting music (like in 2019-2020) so that she interprets it more naturally, instead of the agony/corny style that they went for in season 20/21 (it was like Medvedeva amateur dramatic actress all over again).

Anna Sherbakova is already 17 years old, so in a way she has already broken so called Eteri's age limit for Russian female athletes to succeed. The fact that Eteri will start to co -coach mature rhythmic dancers, may also turn out to benefit her and the girls as well, as maybe she will acquire some new techniques and phycological tips to work with non teenage athletes. Kostornaya is also already 17, going strong, so we will see what happens in one year. I do think that Olympic rules need to be revised to reflect the real status quo of each jurisdiction-for example, each nation 3 athletes plus winners of Grand prix . The reigning Olympic, World's and perhaps Europe's, 4 Continent champs get a pass if they willing to go for it. Thus it will ensure sustainability, will give credit to the nations with the higher than average eligible athletes, at the same time preserving the principle that the strongest takes it all. Alternatively, make to key age groups at the Olympics-15-18, and 18 and up. Wishful thinking, right?
@yugiohlegend2 жыл бұрын
And now Anna is the Olympic champion. Both she and Sasha are nearly 18 and its impressive to see that they both broke the Eteri expiration date. I hope they continue to shine :)

Hard to find the words to describe him as a person and his skating. Tessa and Scott - legends. Magical legends. (*cough* also meant for each other *cough*) Kaori - amazing. Stunning. Girl Power. Jason Brown - he's beauty and he's grace, he's miss United States (bea-ti-ful skating) I am still crying over Javier, mentally standing with Yuzu under that Spanish flag (also that whole relationship - it's still the death of me) And Brian Orser seems like he has THE biggest heart. Seeing him hugging his skaters and jumping with joy at their success and supporting them after worse skates - 100% respect for that guy. Bonus - he's just the cutest Proud Dad™ sometimes, when he takes photos of his skaters and also likes a bunch of fan edits and posts about his students on instagram

She then said that Eteri's mega-girls had neither the proper skating skills nor the programs, and how much she and Ms. Orser had to bother to fix Eteri's damaged World champion and Olympic vice-champion Medvedeva's skating. Trusova then rank 1st and Medvedeva 5th.

Julia Lipnitskaya is also Eteris Olimpic gold medalist (even though in teams competition). In Russia Eteri ir being pushed by the government on the national television, showing her in good light, showing how tough she works and how much she is focused on results rather than scandals. However there are lesser heard and not public scandals about the situation how Eteri and coaches working in that government school and government built arena earn money privately; how they get kick-backs; how they charge cash for training lessons by squeezing a lot of people on the ice in bad times because they are making room for the plethora of singles and now pairs skaters and the setup is illegal as I understand, because they are basically gaining as private individuals simply by using public infrastructure, while officially they should just be earning for the public work/ training of the national team athletes. I think she is talented, charismatic and genuinely not a famewhore. I was partly disappointed when I heard news about the illegal cash-making side hustle however in a country with that much corruption can understand any intent to earn money.
