Hey guys, lets talk about why my R1300GS is unique. I'm kind of all over the place, so bear with me.

People who have never ridden a newer GS just can't imagine how well they handle and the ease of maintenance they allow. Can't wait to see how you make this one your own!! Great analogy with a G-Wagon btw......very true! I bet it's only 5% that go offroad though, which boggles my mind since it's a dirtbike on steroids. But they do handle great, and the stance is ideal for street riding....so I can see why it appeals to you so much.

@twobikesandadrone I'm with you. People just make fun of us GS riders. They don't know that they can have their cake and eat it too... a go anyway bike. If I live where you do, so close to the trails, i know I would be ride them for sure.

I think your efforts to make the bike unique are smart. There's alot to be said in life about looking at where the crowd is going.........and turning around and running the other way! I think the bike is certainly at home as a sport touring bike. Dual sports rule as far as I'm concerned and you can push their versatility alot further that other bikes. By the way, another term for "Bread Basket" is "Colostomy Bag" - LOL!!

Dam I don't want to think about that...lol. I get a little heat for turning a adventure bike into a sport bike, but I do love this platform. I'm not into the adventure look, all that gear just is not me, but I get why riders do it. And like you said, its still a dual sport. I can still hit the trails anytime I wish, with out giving up speed and handling on the twisties... its just so good.

@@Yo-Ken Well, one could say that the GS definitely makes a statement. But the GSA? They make an overstatement in my opinion. I totally get why guys like them but they are a bit over the top for me!

That is a beautiful GS 1300 Kman. You will ride it like you stole it. Buy and ride what you love to look as you’re walking away.

It looks super cool, Ken. It's almost looking like the XR. I have nothing negative to say about it. It's yours and like the title says, "unique" It doesn't need any carbon. My 1200RR and Street Moto2 has lots of it. My Thruxton has none, and that's how I want it. Your bike is a Sport Adventure Tourer. Don't put any M stickers on it 😊

You should remove the rear fender which makes it look much cleaner and sportier. Also paint bottom skid plate

Rear fender removed, I like that. I would powered coat the skid plate, paint will not hold up. Been there done that.

My dealer only had a used one, 2022 I think. I like the bike in its concept, but its not the platform I like for a sport/adventure bike. The seat is absolutely a deal breaker on the old models. The new ones look like they changed it. The power is great, especially the M. I think overall if you want a fast sport/adventure bike at that price point is a good deal.
