Hi Julia - Wow! I love these with the denim. So fun & whimsical looking. I’ve seen rag quilts but not rag bags. I actually have some fleece & flannel for the inner piece to make a rag quilt with. My Aunt makes them and they are so pretty. I just got some pretty 5” squares that I want to make a crossbody bag with and I may make it like this. I just love how these look. March is definitely going out like a lion here today. Rainy, cold & super windy. Snow showers tomorrow no joke!!! We had bad storms on Saturday. Lightening hit my outside phone box. Really scary. By the Grace of God nothing caught on fire including my house. It charred the insides of the box attached to my house. God definitely had His hands all around me. I hope your daughter done ok in the storms Saturday. We’ve had lots of flooding. I live on a hill so I’m blessed and no flooding up here. Enjoy the rest of your vacation. Thank you for all the inspiration you give me. You make the best things. Love & Hugs! 💕🧵🌸🪴🌼

Hi Pam, I am so behind on my comment-ugh! Happy belated Easter to you. Wow sounds like the good Lord was looking after you with that lightning storm. How scary. I bet it made a loud noise when it struck that box. My daughter made it though OK, Nashville got SO MUCH RAIN. We are back in MN where the sun rarely shines but it is good to be back. Spending time with our son and daughter-in-law at Easter was priceless. Have a great weekend! Julia

Love your rag bags! You have so many good ideas. Are you making a list of things that you wish you had brought with you for your winter break? (like those special scissors?) I would diligently make a list, then, when the time came, I will have lost the list! LOL

Hi Phyllis, I am so behind on these comment- I hope you had a good Easter. Yes I made a list of things I didn't bring and kicked myself because of it! Also a list of things to leave behind :) Snipping these bags were a pain with out my sharp snippers! We are back in MN where the sun rarely shines:)

Hi, I will have to do a video on the buttons. I use a polymer clay and bake them. Covering old (ugly) buttons really gives them strength. I use to put them on my sweatshirt jackets that I sold at craft shows. I like the homespun, organic, look that the clay gives. Thanks so much for watching, Julia

So I am confused when you sewed the pocket on in the inside didn't it show on the outside? If not how did you get it to not show?
@stitchesbyjulia Жыл бұрын
Hi, The stitching from the pocket shows on the outside but you really have to look for them. All the fraying and and other stitching hides them.
@rebeccalundblad45293 жыл бұрын
Why didn't you trim the back pocket of the Jeans Jeans so you could finish your inside off so it wouldn't fray away.

Wait a minute . So, u just stitched the strap onto the outside , so basically those few stitches on each strap outside of the bag is suppose to withhold any and all weight Thats being carried in the purse? Granted it’s a purse 👛 not a suitcase 🧳 but still! After awhile stitches do get loose etc & I’m just so surprised that’s the way, let alone the only way, you connected the straps to all those purses!!
@stitchesbyjulia2 жыл бұрын
Possibly add rivets to your bag if stitching is not secure enough.
