This is the BMW M57 engine ? If so I had this in a 5 series 530d from what I have read about them it's the same engine in the 530 d it pushes out 214bhp but in the Range Rover it is 170 hp probably detuned. I hear the auto box is bad. I like them I am planning to buy one in the future. I live in the Highlands of Scotland. So it's hard to find a good example for the right money.

Yes M57 “silly” 177 hp. The 5l40e don’t like torque.

Hi, this is 5l40e 5speed transmission. Same as Bmw X5 e53, Bmw 5 e39. This is original transmission :)

The 3.6 engine is a problematic Ford engine! The 3.0 engine is the best Bmw engine( code:306d1). There may be a problem with the air spring but it can be replaced. The 5 speed automatic transmission very problem :( Code: 5l40e. 100.000 km and repair!! 3.6 version: bad engine, good transmission. 3.0 version: Good engine, bad transmission. Maybe 4.4 tdi engine with 8 speed automatic or 4.2 petrol engine with 6 speed automatic transmission.

@@VelesMemes Better! There are two versions: 3.0 diesel 245 hp 6 speed automatic transmission and 256 hp 8 speed automatic transmission. Of course they are also more expensive.

@@VelesMemes Don't touch the 3.0 diesel in the sports with a 10 foot barge pole. They snap cranks and write off the engine/car. Some people will tell you with good maintenance they won't blah blah, but plenty of people telling of these engines break with no prior warning. Not worth.

Szia! Váltófelújítással kezdtem, sajnos hinni kell a híreknek, ez egy rossz hírű váltó és hiába újítja fel valaki, 100 ezer km múlva tönkremegy. De ez nem a Range Rover hibája. Ez a váltó van sok amerikai modellben, Opelben és Bmwben is. Talán a benzines váltója és a nagyobb dízelmotorosé jobb valamivel, ezt a 3.0-ás dízel Range Roverrel szerelték csak. Maga a motor szinte kuriózum!! Sokan nem is adják el, az igazi vasblokkos Bmw motor, lánc is tartós bennük, ezeket még nem rontották el direkt. Nagyon “kicsi” a motor a motortérben, könnyen szerehető, van hely körülötte. Relatív olcsó hozzá minden. Légrugós az autó, ez hibaforrás, darabját be lehet szerezni már 40 ezer Ft-ért, de nem mind a négy megy szét egyszerre, általában az egyik megadja magát. A légrugókompresszor ami nagyobb összeg, ha tönkremegy, az kb 150 ezer Ft. Hallottam elektronikai hibákról, nekem ilyen nem volt, szerintem az azoknál lehet amivel sárba, vízbe mentek és van bennük millió km. A kényelem az fenomenális, az üléspozíció úrias. A fogyasztása ezzel a motorral már-már vicces! Pl 110 km/h 8.9 liter. Tud menni 190-el is, de a kényemes utazó valahol 110 és 140 között van. Összességében ha műszaki beállítottságú vagy es szeretsz a neten böngészni ha be kell szerezni valamit és beszerzel egy hibakódolvasót hozzá, akkor minden tulzás nélkül mondom, hogy szinte mindent megtudsz magad rajta csinálni. Emelt hasmagassággal beférsz alá és simán lecseréled az olajokat mindenhol egy kézi szivattyúval. Így nem kell mindig szerelőhöz menni ahol emelő van. Ha akarod alámész és ledobod az olajat akár 5000 km múlva, vagy amikor úgy gondolod, mert kevés időbe telik. Ha újra vennék, egy 2012 eset vennék (utolsó széria ez a karosszéria) és a 4.4 es frissített változattal. Örök kedvenc ez a forma. Remélem segítettem a döntésben. Üdv.

@@seedr8682 Ha csak a szolenioid házat kell felújítani akkor olyan 3-400 ból megvan olajcserével. Ha tengelytörés van ami típushiba, vagy kopás ami szintén akkor olyan 800 ezer ft és 1 millió között. Akkor már inkább a gyári új 1,5 ért. Sajnos az is csak 200 ezer km ert bír rendszeres olajcserével. Túl nehéz. Az autó neki.
