I'm pretty sure at least half, if not every single Nelth I've ran this week has had any one of 1. Chains do not spawn 2. A dps clearly walks their chain over him and it goes right through him, or 3. Only 2 chains spawn. I don't remember which ones had a mage or what, but I am beginning to think that if a mage using ginvis as a defensive there that it might cause that bug, no idea otherwise. Also, the magmatusk frontal that is clearly buggy with how it snaps to the person needs to be changed as well.

I remember this from s1 and it’s giving me PTSD flashbacks. Yeah, if it didnt manage to apply the chain debuff to its intended target, it sometimes didn’t apply to chains to anybody. I remember that all too well. Hunter feign death, rogue vanish, mage invis. It’s like if it cannot find the target at all, then it completely breaks the cast

I had the no chains spawn last week, luckily it was +8 Fortified so we just powered through it. I'm disappointed how they changed the trash chains but left the boss bugged.

Had the same thing in my key. Boss just afk'd, not even auto'ing, don't remember seeing the fixate line but i'd imagine it was there after seeing this clip. Then no chains spawned on the fixate, luckily it was only a 5 so we were chilling

Had this boss bug a few times in the same way in S2 where he just stood there, I think it happened twice but he was low on health both times and never moved again until he died, S2 is a while ago now so I could remember it wrong.

I had this happen on Friday in an 8th Neltharus where it caused us to wipe. We already got issues with the pug hunter we had to take dying constantly and messing up a chain before the 2nd boss on us. We barely managed to time the +8 3 minutes left on the timer where the tank had to pull big before the last boss to make up the lost timed. Nobody used any invisibility on the boss when this occurred the chains just didn't apply at all.

I did morchie last night and she never transitioned back from her dragon form and just stood there doing absolutely nothing for the next 3/4 of the fight.

Ran Nelth on an alt yesterday. Just a little +2 trying to gear my DK. Hunter died as the chains went out so we were left with only two. I instantly battle res him while we drag our chains through the boss. The hunter accepts the res and spawns with a chain still attached to him which he then drags through the boss and for some reason the boss just doesn't get stunned! No idea why unless the hunters death bugged the chain somehow? We did manage to get the boss down regardless. Luckily by big 446 ilvl DK had AMS ready to live haha.

when I shadowmeld the first set fire swirly on the blacksmith boss, no circles go out on players.

@@heythereguysitsMetro If you feign or shadowmeld any of the bosses "specials" it completely fudges up the mechanics. And they never fixed that obviously ;)

i've run many, many, many nelths farming for spoils in the 7-8 range as a healer (main dps but playing disc to farm because its easy to get into low keys as a healer with 3.1k io). ive seen the chains boss bug exactly once, and it wasnt difficult to deal with because we realized what was going on and knew the 3x damage was coming, so we slammed defensives and i threw some cds at it and it was very safe. it being a 7 or 8 definitely helped lol what i see more often is people popping all chains because i guess the phase scares them and they want it over, which unlike a bug scenario no one preps for the damage. on the trash pulls they never touch the hallways chains. and some tanks die on chargath for some reason, my best guess is not being prepared or taking hits to the back i taught a hunter on my adventure to feign the bleed on that boss so that was nice

@@heythereguysitsMetro my guess is that the people saying its mage mass invis or hunter feign causing it might be on to something, because my first thought was mage invis/mass invis too because when it happened in my group we did have a mage. the second clip in this video doesnt have a mage though, just a hunter id try to replicate it on my hunter to see if theres a trend but idk how to go about it without griefing random nelths its definitely a problem with the boss's spell queuing causing it to do the wrong order of operations i think, but what causes it idk

I was shocked when I did this key for the first time this season and he was still bugged, his chains just didn't spawn. It's like a new level of incompetence from them, like it's crazy they didn't just rework that mechanic.

@@heythereguysitsMetro another similiarly terrible one is in uldaman the boss occasionally desyncs the beam from the visual and one shots your group, it happened all of S2 even happening in MDI, and just yesterday I had it wipe me in a 17 and then again in a 10 but we lived cause the key was lower

Any kind of immune or invis can make you an invalid target. You can use ams to stop a single chain. I however have never seen a triple chain bug like this. Wow.

i skipped last season entirely, came back to S4 a couple days ago and jumped right into M+ as resto druid. Well, it took me 4 attempts to even clear the first +2 key. First dude left bevor we put the key in, second dude left after like 5 minutes (for no obvious reasons, did not say a single word) and the last one just hearthed out because we wiped once at last boss... such a wonderful experience, this game is dead.

Could be an interaction with incorporeal causing it, you see at the top incorporeal should have gone off at exactly the same time as the last chain was broken but nothing spawned.

It's very funny, because the (good) mages could intuitively invis, as it gives them a very big damage reduction, and hit from the chains is more dangerous than the DoT itself (unless stacked to 3...), especially if they have a bleed on them from the previous mechanic. Haha

Yep. Invis gives a brief, but noticeable DR. It's a completely valid spell to cast just before a large predictable damage spike.

@@heythereguysitsMetro I mean, people don't even think this is the cause. It happened, game is broken, move on. It's a very standard move for a mage to use invis for dmg reduction. The same principle applies to the guys who run on the road to the right side after killing Stinkbreath in BH, instead of just sticking to the wall. The amount of times there were 2 packs of mobs out of nowhere when we were fighting the boss is tremendous (like, you know there are stealth mobs patrolling, so why make it go dangerously close to them and pull then not realise you have combat), but people just say "game bugged" and move on. The reaction is the same, the difference is Chargath thing is a bug and not intended, the BH thing is just people refusing to learn it.

This was 100% a bug in S2. The boss would stay stunned longer and then chains wouldn’t go out the next round.

I still say the Morchie bug is funnier. Lol But yeah, that is truly unacceptable in a dungeon that has been out since DF launched. I cannot help but feel, though, if more people actually tested things on the beta/ptr we would find these bugs earlier and at a point where Blizzard would be more willing to fix them quicker. But maybe that's just me.

In general I totally agree. But this isn't a product of not finding it obviously. This is something deeply wrong with how the encounter works. Maybe if more feedback came in through the beta they might have scrapped the fight outright but I doubt it.

Ya, you'd need some high level cross analysis tools to discern anything repeatable here. Its a very varied bug, with a lot of branches, it seems.

@heythereguysitsMetro The most annoying thing I have found with the boss that technically isn't a bug is if a DPS dies before using their cabin, the boss stun mechanic doesn't get triggered. So one dps going down means having to pop an extra major CD. It should stun on 2 if there are only 2 chains available when 3 were available at the start to avoid it being cheesed with only 2 dps starting the fight, etc. I get DPS shouldn''t die but for a fight to not only become more of a challenge due to DPS loss but also more punishing because a mechanic becomes impossible sucks.

Absolutely not, in my eyes. They are doing amazing work and producing more content than ever before. This is an issue, but not a huge one. Its not even an issue that for sure wipes your group. Its probably just very difficult to fix, and its way too late to just remove it.
