Absolutely agree, The original Wayfarer's in Tortoiseshell are awesome!! had several pairs over the years, also love my Persol's, in Tortoiseshell obviously, and a pair of Oliver Peoples I've had for many years, bought after watching American Psycho ;-)

You have the perfect face/hair/look for Wayfarers. It's as if they were created with you in mind. I'm a bit of a sunglass nut but will always keep the R-B classics even as I rotate between other brands and styles. Enjoyed the video.

thanks mate, Wayfarers are perfect but I haven't worn a pair for over a year now. I own no Ray Ban, just my vietnam American Optical pilots and Persol 714sm. I should get another pair soon though as they are great.

I have several pairs of both. The acetate on the Luxottica ones is cheaper, last year I ruined two pairs trying to change the lenses, the heat gun melted the frame. B&L Wayfarers can handle a lot more heat.

What size are your B&L Clubmasters ? 49mm or 51mm ? I bought a pair that’s 49mm but seems small even for my narrow slim face. Maybe because am used to wearing bigger lens 58mm Aviators.

random question I just got some original wayfarers, not a fan of the case it comes with. a bit flimsy. any suggestions on a nicer maybe hardshell case to protect it?

The new cases are cheap and flimsy, but you can buy any hard shell case to be honest. It’ll fit most cases.

You should try the rerelease of the original American Optical Saratoga sunglasses. Come in some awesome colours and the quality is great 👍🏻

They’re on the list! I’ve sold all my Ray Bans since and now wear Persol and AO only. Mainly 714 and some Vietnam Pilots.

That’s a shame. The original vintage wayfarers were a good fit on you. I purchased some of the xl current ones and the bridge is stupidly narrow and they sit a bit high. Bought a pair of vintage 5024’s and hoping they fit better. After some Oliver People’s Oliver Suns next for a classy black pair

I am planning on purchasing the Wayfarer from Ray-Ban's website. Which lens should I get for it? Plastic or glass? Is glass more prone to damage with various liquids, etc? And I am reading that glass loses their UV blocking with time, which I don't expect to happen with plastic. What do you think?

The only wayfarer that you should buy is the 2140. Glass lenses, thick acetate frames and the tilt of the lenses. Always glass lens.

Out of curiosity, what issues have you encountered with plastic lenses? Thr plastic lens actually costs more than glass lens in Ray-Ban's website. I would have to get either the polarized version or the Bioacetate Wayfarer to get plastic lens, both of which costs more than regular glass lens model.

Because I received the 2140 polarized with pvc lens, I ordered the regular version thinking it will be different. Nope. It seems Ray-Ban has completely switched to pvc lens for most of their newer production regardless of model number. Sad that sunglass no longer has glass in it.
