I had a policeman and police woman threatened me that either I paid £120 to my violent neighbour or allowed her to enter my garden to cut down my trees. I’m 74 years old and was in tears. I wrote to the chief commissioner who admitted they were at fault and were being retrained!!!! I have no respect for the police now.

That depends on the 19:45 19:45 circumstances. Seedlings grew in my neighbour's garden which over the years grew into large trees , which blocked my gutters, and polluted my koi pond. I took am a 77 year old man , but laboured with seedlings removal, gutter cleaning and water filtration , because neighbours should be a bit like family. This year , without any hint of complaint by me, my good neighbour had those trees fuelled. That was a welcome relief for me, but even if that had not happened, I would not have complained. My neighbour might have enjoyed seeing birds on those branches or welcomed the shade in Summer. No need to just think of your own perspective. Love thy neighbour.

I doubt it. Either one of those would cause her to be able to understand his reasoning. That was straight-up sober cop logic at its finest. All 2 of her brain cells were working at full capacity, which accounts for the erratic body movement. I served for 30 years, retired 8 years ago. I am ashamed with the level of ignorance in the Police. I saw it first hand as the standard of recruiting went downhill and new officers could not think for themselves or even, talk to people. I would have used this encounter to learn firsthand about drones, if I lacked the knowledge that these two clearly do. If your drone was painted in rainbow colours you would have been ok. A golden rule I know from someone I worked with who was in charge of special constables: never ever let go of any ID (like a police warrant card). If need show it to whoever needs to see it but never let them take it out of your hand (as here). They then have all the power to keep possession as long as they wish. Very bad move.

My personal opinion is that the copper lady is thick as a brick (I'm qualified to say this, yes) and the drone guy abuse that and his rights. All could have been resolved quite amiable. That lady needs to do a 'learn to listen and interpret' course.

However, being of an age that can remember respect for the Police and firm but fair Policing. Its difficult to view or feel the same about the officers of the present day. This was a lesson to all of us. Never co-operate with the police in this sort of context. Where they are clearly on a fishing expedition and out to trample over your rights to privacy. Never show them something they can use to identify you. Never give them your property. Don't answer their questions. Either remain silent, or if you're a content creator take the mickey out of them, whilst deflecting and not answering a single one of their impertinent questions. Call their bluff and allow them to dig a hole for themselves by unlawfully detaining / searching / arresting you when you are filming them. We all know that's it's typical of the police to recruit people like her, and to fail to train her or supervise her to sufficient standards.

What concerns me isn’t this complete misunderstanding of the law by the police, it’s the absurd waste of time and tax payers money. Crimes are off the scale, shops and burglary are not responded, criminals literally getting away with murder…. And even if they are prosecuted, they’re freed by a government out of control. I strongly urge people to always take video of any interaction with police. Ironically I’m fully on the police side, but it’s clear we are fundamentally at odds with how they’re policing
