Geoff is amazing and multi talented. he has a very impressive 5 octave range. Hope you will check out more from Geoff and the acapella group he is a part of,VoicePlay.

Geoff started doing solo work when Covid shut the world down. His Acapella group tied extensively, in fact they were on one of the cruise ships that had to sit offshore for two weeks when the panic hit. You will love Voiceplay as much as you enjoyed this. The magical thing is that Geoff arranged, performance, records, edits, and produces his work alone. His wife, Kathy is his production manager. Subscribed in anticipation of more.

Welcome to the Geoff Castellucci world! I looovvveee hearing him. That's why i become one of his Patrons. He started out just teasing his "clones" as Geoffettes, but later they were given names: Jeff, Goff, Jeoph, and Daryl. His versions of Ghost Riders and also Big Iron are great as well.

I love his bass voice but also love his higher range, he just has a very smooth and soothing voice. I hope you will also check out his acapella group, VoicePlay. They are incredible! ❤

I'm sure other commenters will tell you all about Kathy (a true gem, super-capable, and clearly the light of Geoff's life) and VoicePlay (independent of any label and just as multi-talented as Geoff, all have amazing ranges). Here are 3 songs I think you'll enjoy: 1. "Nothing Else Matters" (Voiceplay): one of Geoff's arrangements. A great example of respecting the original while doing something unique. Emotional performances from everone. 2. "Valhalla Calling (Voiceplay): These guys are called the "theater kids of acapella" for a reason. Costumes, effects, acting - you get the full "movie/game" experience in this video. A great showcase of everyone's talents. Super duper low sustained subharmonics from Geoff, ample proof that tenors can be rock gods and fierce berserkers too, and of course Layne's masterful beatboxing and arranging skills - plus a surprise from the "guest star"/former member J. None (he'll return in ~2 years) 3. ...anything that catches your eye from Geoff's solo channel, really. He's got ELVIS songs, he's got a hauntingly beautiful "Sound of Silence", he's got spooky songs and classics, western tales and mining songs, and even narrations. As a lady of about the same age as Geoff, I have to say that while I enjoy all kinds of voices, his is among my all-time favourites. That warmth and resonance! His subharmonics are what I imagine a purring dragon would sound like, so deep you feel it as much as you hear it. It's evoking a feeling of, I guess I'd call it safety? The vocal equivalent of a hug, like you could just let yourself fall into that sound and it'd catch and envelop you - and at the same time it's exciting, mesmerizing, energizing. Spine-tingling and soul-shaking. The best part is the person behind the music, though. Geoff Castellucci is a real good 'un, backing up his natural talent with an admirable dedication to lifelong mastery, trying new things, and a great sense of humor.

Oh I'm so glad you found Geoff! I'm subscribing in anticipation of watching you react to more of his videos and also Voiceplay's as others have mentioned here. My personal favorite VP video is currently Daddy Sang Bass, which features an older lineup of the group, but one of their newest releases, Stand By Me, is catching up very quickly as a favorite. In the past they have always had five members, but after J.None joined the Navy back in 2021, they have chosen to remain a quartet and bring in featured performers from time to time. It really keeps things interesting.😊

Geoff's deep bass drops are astounding, no doubt about it! My desk shakes too--I can feel the vibrations running right up my arm from my mouse. But what I find more interesting is the fact that he's not a one-trick pony; he can get right up into tenor territory and still sound just as capable and comfortable there as he does when he takes it into the basement.

Geoff has a 5+ octave range. Phenomenal in no matter what range he's in. He has a bunch of fantastic videos on his channel. His latest is Song of Durin from the Hobbit movies. He dresses up as 5 of the dwarves, Each of his clones have their own name and range... Jeff, Jeoph, Goff and Daryl. Geoff is bass singer for the acapella group Voiceplay. He uses instruments. Voiceplay released their Christmas video as well..... Zat You, Santa Claus? It is fantastic and fun. They're also phenomenal.

Thanks for this reaction to my favorite singer's solo channel. A five octave range (three octaves in chest voice) is a powerful thing. Geoff is a founding member of my favorite group, VoicePlay. Enjoy...they never disappoint! Subscribing in hopes of more Geoff and VoicePlay! They are 100% independent so aren't as well known as they deserve to be. Just read the credits on any video description (Geoff solo or VoicePlay). They have learned the skills to do almost everything themselves from arranging to editing the video. Geoff and Kathy filmed this the day before Thanksgiving. (Sound tracks are always done before filming when he sings along but uses the studio audio.) Three days later, he premiered it for his Patreon community. A week later it was on KZbin.

I don't like all bass voices - some are grating - but Geoff has a beautiful timbre to his voice and incredible vocal control. His arranging skills are often overlooked! He is incredibly talented apart from his extraordinary voice. ⚘️🕊

Exactly! If you read the notes on this video he did everything! Arrangement, filming, editing. The man is a one-man show in the best sense of the phrase.
@Gael4ce4 күн бұрын
As to how they do that - Geoff films it five times. Then there’s a fancy editing program he uses to combine all the takes. They have to be very exact with where he stands and that nothing other than him changes. Try his version of God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen. It’s the best arrangement of that song I’ve ever heard. And I’d bet you’d enjoy the group he performs with too. As others have said, they’re called VoicePlay. They just dropped a cover of a Louie Armstrong Christmas song called “Zat You Santa Clause?”. It’s a lot of fun. All vocal, no instruments. The “drum” is a beatboxer. And what do I think of Geoff’s voice?! I think he could get damn near every woman that listens to him sing and a lot more of the men than they want to admit. 😏

As a female, I find bass voices thrilling. The depth and resonance does sound "manly" to me -- sorry tenors! I love all kinds of voices, but Geoff's bass voice is so unique he stands out even among other talented vocalists. I hope you enjoy more Geoff and/or VoicePlay.

I love watching Geoff "break" reactors. You held up pretty well. His subharmonic technique takes him down to A Zero which is the bottom A on the piano. I've seen women reactors talk about panties melting. Others throw things. Ask if he's really human. I'm happily married so for me it's more the rich depth and hilarious growls that push away cares of the day. Layne is the beat boxer for Voice Play and he'll ask Geoff "Can you sing this?" Without looking Geoff says YES. But we need a Viking War Horn! YES. I can do that. (He did. Valhalla Calling. In fact, MN Vikings have a HUGE war horn for football games and Geoff hits a lower note than it does.) 🤯

Wait a minute, what? He hits a note lower than a viking horn? I knew he could hit some incredibly low notes, but that's insane. Love Geoff!

I have always been drawn to bass voices and harmonies ( which Geoff excells at) since I heard Tennessee Ernie Ford and the Sons of the Pioneers as a girl. Geoff has been a thoroughly delightful discovery, and I watch for each new song he drops with relish. I'm glad you've found him too.

Geoff just does it all 😂 Sing from tenor to hell rattling bass, arrange, film, edit... so much talent 🤩👍🏻 And with all of that, he's a humble and down-to-earth guy, loving husband and father ❤ Most of the time it's just him and his wife Kathy on place with cameras, props etc. Honestly, I don't like EVERY deep voice, it's about the timbre and Geoff's voice is just so smooth and velvety ❤

@johndeeregreen4592Күн бұрын
His low, low notes were basically an octave deeper than a typical bass, while his lead lines in the bass register were about that of a traditional bass. While he was also doing baritone and tenor harmonies. He has a 5 octave vocal range, so this is just another day at the office, so to speak.
@bjspeck43373 күн бұрын
Geoff has a 5-octave range plus a half-step at the top. He's an original member of VoicePlay from 1997 and during covid when they couldn't go on tours he started his own channel and of course VoicePlay was already doing that. Geoff does use instruments on his channel and with VoicePlay it's acapella. Members of VoicePlay have spent part of their life performing at Disney World and/or Universal so they know how to grab an audience's attention. They had an incredible variety of videos that they have done and it will knock your socks off.

I love this version. I have always loved this song, but when sopranos do it it kind of hurts my ears because they get so high. This is very different from the traditional but that’s what makes it so enjoyable. He did a stellar version of God rest ye Merry Gentlemen two years ago. I have never really enjoyed that song because it’s so repetitive, much like this one. But he changed it up and it is now one of my favorites to listen to. Your comment about those “masculine voices” made me laugh. One of my favorite remakes of a song is All about that Bass by Straight No Chaser. They have changed the words and one of the lines is something like “all the tenors screaming like cats”. Once while I listen to it just for a good laugh. My dad was a baritone bass and so when I hear tenors alone it always kind of surprises me. That being said, check out VoicePlay’s cover of Stand By Me. Geoff is the base for the group. It’s easy to overlook because they filmed it in a vertical format like the shorts are usually filmed. But it is a full version and features one of their original members. Back in middle school Geoff met a few other like-minded singers and by the time they were in high school they were in singing competitions. One of the group, Mykal (Michael) Kilgore departed shortly thereafter for Broadway where he has had a good career and earned a Grammy. He came back to appear with them but they didn’t have much time to do any staging so they just went out there and performed it the way they used to when they were in high school singing on street corners. With Mykal and Geoff appear another of the original members, that would be Layne Stein, the beatboxer who previously was their baritone. Also appearing them is Eli Jacobsen, a rock tenor who also grew up in the area and competed against them in high school singing competitions. They are rounded out with Cesar Delarosa the newest and youngest member of the group. The four of them appear on a regular basis as their fifth member was recruited by the Navy and he’s only about halfway through his hitch. So they selected a group of talented friends like Mykal to fill in that position, including that prior member who joined the Navy.

Welcome to the Castellucci rabbit hole! It’s very ‘deep’ here. Don’t forget to run over down the garden path to check out VoicePlay. That’s the acapella group he has been in since the late ‘90s. Before that mostly same singers but different name ever since they met in jr. high school. Geoff and VP’s beatboxer Layne Stein are the original members and great friends. They both are also incredible at arranging music, self-directing music videos, and video work. Really amazing just how talented all of them are.

Many bass singers can hit those low notes but they sound desperate, like bullfrogs being squeezed to death. Geoff's voice, in any range, is effortless and pleasant. Sooooo pleasant. Being purty sure doesn't hurt either.

What are my thoughts when I hear Geoff sing? First, I think I totally married the wrong guy! (Just kidding, honey.) But seriously, my folks were barbershop fans back in the day, and I still remember one particular joke from one particular bass singer that totally applies here: "The ladies swoon when the tenor sings, but they go home with the bass." Oh, yeah!

In general, I prefer a bass speaking voice in men. I don't always prefer a bass singing voice. Some bass voices are grating, like dry rocks tumbling, and I don't like this. Geoff has a full, rich voice. It's capable of shaking the ground, but still beautiful.

To all the corny reactors who at the beginning says "There's Geoff", then "There's another Geoff", then "There's another Geoff", then "There's another Geoff" and then "There's Geoff again".....STOP I! ALREADY!!!! You're not amusing, you're just creepy and annoying.
