Thanks for the insight dude! I'm currently saving to upgrade to an RTX 4070ti, while I currently have a RTX 2060 Super. This is paired with the Ryzen 9 5900x I got a while ago. Even though as you say, tarkov is a hugely CPU bound game, I never understood why even after upgrading my CPU that I still get less than 50FPS a lot of the time, unless it's small ish maps like factory, or ground zero. However, you make it very clear, that not only do you need a good GPU, but also a CPU that does.. even more than I thought. I haven't ever really considered, or looked at "x3d" CPUs, as I wasn't really sure what benefit they provide compared to what you lose if you go with it. But, again you make it clear.

I pretty much plan on building the unobtainium build soon. I already run a 3090, ryzen 5900x, 32gb of ddr4. And very soon Im going to upgrade all but the GPU, I'm waiting for the 9950x3d, the 64gb of ddr5-6000 (6000 is the sweet spot for amd cpus), and if I can get my hands on one an Asrock x870e nova, but they're sold out everywhere

Im waiting for my new Tarkov beast PC to arrive. Decided on the 9800X3D, MSI X670, 7900XT, 64gb DDR5 CL32 6400MHz, Phanteks Glacier 360mm AIO, 1000w Corsair Plat. Ended up going with the 1000w PSU for the possible GPU upgrade to the 5070/5080 cards when they become available, i cannot wait to test it out! I've basically been recommending any AMD x3d cpu to my tarkov buddies. I doubled my Fps just by changing my cpu from the Ryzen9 5900x to the new Ryzen7 9800X3D. I literally went from barely being able to play streets at 60fps to getting 150fps!

you're welcome! a 5700X3D would be the best drop in upgrade for the cost with your setup. Here's my 5950X vs 5800X3D comparison: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nGS4mKFmbtWHjaM. You could drop in a 5700X3D and see similar. Performance is a bit down this wipe compared to last, but you should see similar increases in 1080p with a GTX1080. GPU is less important than CPU in tarky.

hi yeah it runs very cool and I tried to keep costs to a minimum for this build sample. The case I recommended does come with a 120mm rear exhaust fan which is adequate for this build, but you can definitely add more if you like. If you want reasonable fan recommendations, I can give you some as well.

as a side note you can do a broke boi build that'd do great I've been playing at good frames on a 5600x (only 100$ now) a GTX 1070 ive had for 10 years, and 32gb of ram and an m.2 in a lian li lancool II with a budget psu from an old pc from 2015 any AM4 mobo will do and a pearless assassin is cheep and would suffice, and a 144 hz 1080p monitor. with the exception of the 5600x and mobo case and an AIO that i got 5 years ago....I've had the 1070 for 10 years ...I'm finally upgrading my GPU after 10 years to a 7900XTX and due to availability of a 9800x3d being hard to get and not wanting to upgrade my mobo without having the 9800x3d, I'm going to the 5950x, because it's down to 350$ from 800 and staying on AM4 for a while.

All the 7000 series X3D chips perform about the same in Tarkov as well. the 5600X3D, 5700X3D and 5800X3D all perform the same in Tarkov. The 5600X3D has limited availability because they're only sold at Microcenter with no online purchasing. The 5800X3D has been discontinued, but the 5700X3D remains in production and is cheaper than 5800X3D with basically the same gaming performance (artificial benchmarks will show slight differences due to the clock speeds). For anyone building or upgrading now, the 5700X3D has the most availability and is priced the best. I have hundreds if not over a thousand 5800X3D videos on my channel, but the 5700X3D is the one to get today

Im kinda helpless. I did build my PC more or less like in the Titanium Build. 7900 GRE, 9800x3d, 64gb of 5600mhz ram. Identical Motherboard with an 360 AIO. Performance wise it doesnt seem to similiar to what the 4070 did and most annoyingly. Im already faced with Tarkov crashing left and right giving me AMD Adrenaline errors :/ I dont support Nvidias crazy prices but comparing this to the fact i have not had a troublefree day since i built this rig with AMD sucks

i got a 7 7700 cpu and a 7900xt 32gb of ram 6000 i can barely get above 100 fps at 1440p on this game i need to get a x3d cpu for this game hopefully amd will make a 9600x3d and not make it a micro center exclusive
