Back in the day when record stores were all over NYC we used to clean up. Found tons of amazing /rare records including a test pressing of the 12” for “Could Heaven Ever Be Like This” for $1.99 and the rare Hugh Masekela one sided promo 12” of “The Disco Kid”(NBLP-002)on blue labeled Casablanca for $3.99. This was before Discogs & Popsike so you had to know the records….

Love it. Your process/approach is nearly identical to mine. That's why I'm now up to 21 Bob James albums. His keyboard intro to "Loran's Dance" on Idris Muhammad's "Power of Soul" is what me got started tracing samples back to the source years ago. I heard it on "Paul's Boutique" and Fatboy Slim's "The Weekend Starts Here" and wanted to know where it was from. As far as labels, I grab a lot of Kudu, CTI, TappanZee, Impulse!, Blue Note, etc. (among others). Great video. Subbed.
