Hair likes to be put away and moisturized and left alone your comment is very incorrect because everybody doesn’t have the same hair …some people can wear protective styles and their head will grow and some people may hair weaker strands and end up losing hair regardless…relaxed or non relaxed …..

My hair loves braids. Even when I was relaxed in middle and high school my mom would braid our hair and leave it braided for 2 months and the hair growth was BEAUTIFUL! I just went back relaxed and will probably let her braid my hair again

It was the braids. Braids will break and thin out hair due to no combing especially with additional hair.

When I used to braid my hair I realized that using any braiding hair in with my hair intermingled..it would break. But when I braided just my own hair solo it thanked me and grew like weeds..

I just took out my Senegalese twists. I’m relaxed and never had any type of braids/extensions in my hair. A lot of my hair came out too after removing the twists and washing my hair…it was so tangled and I was so mad because I I thought my hair was in a “protective” style. Only had the twists in for 5 wks. I don’t think it’s good to get braids when your hair is relaxed, because of the processing the hair is more fragile and breaks easier.

For me keeping the braids for a while actually helps a lot with the growth of my hair. I've seen amazing results. Apparently, leaving out my relaxed hair after washing without straighening it damages it rather. For some weird reason but I realized that protecting my hair a lot with braiding or cornrows with my natural hair helps with the growth of my hair.
@6ftNaturalBeauty
@6ftNaturalBeauty 7 күн бұрын
Protective styling helps with length retention, not growth. I am so surprised people do not understand and know this by now. Your hair is going to grow no matter what style it is in if you do not have underlying medical conditions or deficiencies that stop hair growth. Where The issue comes in is that your hair CAN break off at the ends at the same rate that it’s growing from your scalp. Giving the ILLUSION that your hair is not growing or growing very slowly.

Gaps doesn’t necessarily mean split ends and if your hair is getting tangled in the shower I’d consider a more moisturizing shampoo and conditioner.

I use human braiding hair and twist my hair. Flat twists and roots that are braided with twisted ends saves your ends. I’ll put synthetic hair on top of human hair for length and color. Yeah, I actually am braiding it twice. 😂😂

The main thing that tangles relaxed hair is curly roots especially if you’re “stretching relaxers” past the time that is recommended for your texture. It’s like transition from relaxed to natural and abruptly stopping and starting again. I remember telling a client she needs to decide if she’s in or out.
@DenaJ
@DenaJ Жыл бұрын
I agree. Excessive stretching can truly ruin your hair, but it works for some. Those with loser textures seems to get on fine with long stretches.

My hair is the length that yours is after you cut it. I would LOVE for it to be longer but it doesn’t look good when it gets longer because the ends look terrible. So I trim it. It status healthier that way and it looks it too. Maybe someday I will be able to have really long hair but I doubt it.

When I served the Military, I would have my hair relaxed. It helped maintain a certain style while in uniform. That was 2018. Moving forward I stopped relaxing my hair then till now and went natural. Reason being is relaxers (chemicals) can have a long term effects to the Human Brain (Neurological Deficit). You don’t want that. Be Kind to your Brain, since it’s known as The CEO of the Human Body. The bad ends "prompted" you to relax your hair? Relaxers destroy the hair bonds and raise the cuticle layer PERMANENTLY. Just because you can grow long hair doesn't mean it's healthy. Relaxed hair is unhealthy hair so I don't understand the surprise when your hair starts showing you.
@nicoledavis6344
@nicoledavis6344 Жыл бұрын
Umm relaxed hair is not “unhealthy” hair what are you talking about. Yes your hair can become unhealthy easier with relaxers if you’re not careful, but relaxed hair doesn’t automatically equal unhealthy hair. Just like natural hair doesn’t automatically equal healthy hair.
