I voted for Trump quite hesitantly in 2016, and immediately saw the negative effects of my choice while I worked in a state government office. I had believed Obamacare to be an abomination until I read every one of its policies for my job and realized they were actually good policies. The day I saw Trump encouraging people to storm the capital was the day I decided to start voting Democrat. Proud of it now. No more cognitive dissonance for me. My parents think I've gone mad. I've lost friends. But I don't see any Christ-likeness in Trump and so I just can't support him. Ever. He's not even pro-life but has convinced so many that he is.

Let me just say a few things, law and order? Donald Trump? Does he not know, has he not heard about Donald’s indictments, some 80 something accounts. Many of which he has confessed to and is seeking immunity for. The scriptures repeatedly tell us to be careful how we treat the immigrant and the stranger among us. Trump was in office four years how many days did he close the border? Spoiler alert none. The economy is doing fine, I don’t know where he is in America but I expect that if his congregation is stable so is the church’s income. If everybody had Jesus what a wonderful world this would be, that goes without saying. But Jesus said, whosoever WILL let him/her come. Morality/Faith cannot be legislated, nor does God want it to be. Just a listen to Trump’s non policies with the theme of revenge should be enough to give pause to any student of the Bible, vengeance is mine saith the Lord, I will repay. @@dmc7911 there's definitely things like the bumper stickers (usually stay on forever) and yard signs (usually gone after election), but yeah, the merch collections for Trump are much more like "obsessed with this person" level... Fwiw, the Biden campaign website DOES have a flag, and I've heard from people who live in deep red areas flying one to um...add more color to their area? you could probably nutpick and find a Biden devotee, but that's beside the point. The follower aspect goes beyond merch into, "I will not believe anything negative about this man, no matter how much proof there is. Only he tells the truth." 😬 TBH politician merch makes me uncomfortable. I prefer to just donate to a campaign and not have the bits and bobs. I have political shirts, but they're pro-democracy/human rights shirts, not personality shirts (like "VOTE!" and "be kind" and "places that start by burning books end by burning people"). The one exception is i have a sweatshirt with the photo of Bernie sitting at the inauguration with his mask and mittens. I don't have strong feelings about him, I just thought it was super cute and he gave all the proceeds to the Vermont food banks instead of his campaign. Most of all we practiced the humility of Jesus and the love of Jesus for all of creation, all of God’s people, whoever and wherever they may be. By the way, I’m 76, I’m trained as a pastor but I work in a lot of secular jobs in order to make my ends meet. I don’t believe we are going to get anything better by turning back clock and forcing people into corners because they don’t fit the mold of what is currently going on. Jesus brought light and love into the world. He said come out of the darkness come into the glorious light, which is God and Jesus Christ his son. Don’t pull curtains over the issues that you don’t want to deal with or you want to push harder, I know you do. The one thing we were always told in my school was you cannot judge, and you place your own salvation in danger. When we judge, we take upon ourselves to power of God to make decisions for everyone else, but we have to live with those decisions as well. I don’t like some decisions I’ve already made just for me and my family. Why would I do anything for anyone else like that?

I was a staunch conservative for my entire life until 2016. I'll happily be called a liberal or Democrat by comparison. I understand fully how he was able to consolidate everyone under his brand of fascism. He did so by bribing the evangelical Leaders, hiring Cambridge analytica to create Qanon, the lock her up movement, and did so through the theft of Facebook user metadata, without a single users consent(why it's considered theft). They built algorithms based on the psychological profile data gleaned from that metadata, which then have the co-opted media networks the ammo necessary to create tailored content, to take advantage of those psychological pressure points. I refuse to be a part of any party or group, that willingly toys with it's people's perceptions and mental stability. Watching what it's done to my loved ones, had been heartbreaking. A lot of them have lost everything because they fell hard into the paranoia and insanity of these groups. They turned against their own children, family, for Trump. You can't have a civil conversation, a normal exchange with them, everything always goes back to Trump and a crazy conspiracy. These were people that worked hard, were model neighbors, that would do anything for anyone, and now they're full of hate and distrust. Seeing what it's fine to the country has been hardest. I see us entering into a civil war within five years. I think it's inescapable now. May God forgive us for destroying ourselves and being led astray

True Christianity is not a religion, an establishment or an organization. It is a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. It is placing full faith and trust in HIm, and in His work, and becoming molded into His image. Sadly, organized religion today, denominations, etc are so hypocritical to true Biblical doctrine due to ignorance and apathy, that we must read Jesus' words to the Pharisees and the woes He proclaimed against them, and evaluate ourselves in the same light, because we have become them. Since this belief can NOT in any way be scientifically proven making any law based on such a belief can NOT be justified. Thank you for your content. I've been a pastor for 7 years of a fairly conservative congregation. This is my first pastorate and I became pastor not long after the 2016 election. Along the way I have seen/heard/read things said by a few people that have caused me great concern for their perspective of faith, politics, and this country. It is a very distorted and unhelpful view of the Christian faith and it often difficult knowing the best time and manner to address things from a pastoral perspective. Thank you for being willing to put your voice out there on behalf of others dealing with the same conflicts you address. In another video someone made the comment about God's hand being on Donald and Jesus answering their prayers. I responded exactly as you said here. No one should be saying such things about Donald or anyone else like Biden. That's just not something Christians should do. This past Sunday in the sermon....in talking about Christians bearing the fruit of the Spirit and looking like Jesus.......I said that our county will not be influenced by Christians through elections but through reflections. i agree pastors are in a postion of leadership but im finding many people have forgotten that following a spiritual life is a personal path we can agree and join with others who seem to be on the same path, but ultimately it should be our own personal relationship with Christ should guide us and not what other flawed mortal humans say. we should always pray to find Gods will with love and compassion as our guide

Sir I applaud you. I'm from the deep south where I'll bet this pastor you are referring to is from. I'm not a Christian, but I have always viewed Christ's message as a good one for the most part. I often think of when Christ spoke of the day of judgement in I believe it was Matthew when God separates the sheep from the goats. He goes down the line: you clothed me when I was cold, you visited me while I was imprisoned, so on and so forth. The line that sticks with me is for what you have done unto the least of my brethren you have done unto me. Even as a non-believer I think it would do all of us good to remember that.

You are correct. Consider this: the devil, demons have power to deceive. They don't use logic or reason to do it, they use their power. And some are deceived. Now this does not mean that I think Biden is a righteous man - frankly I don't know enough about his private character to make a judgement. I fundamentally disagree with him on abortion, but on most other matters I probably agree with him. Other than that issue he seems to be a decent man. I'm sure people could point to significant spiritual failings in me. But I think, I THINK Biden is a Christian. I have absolutely no reason to think Trump is. There's no fruit in keeping with repentance that I can discern.

Former Christian here. When I was in Christian school I was told that we were peacemakers, the light of the world, hope for salvation, all that fun stuff. In the years since I graduated, I’ve seen teachers, other students, even my former vice principal do and say some insane stuff. (one teacher participated in Jan 6…) Even the rest of my family is deep within the cult and I just feel left out for having the personal moral code to say “that ain’t right” or “Jesus didn’t say that”. It’s a breath of fresh air hearing other Christians feel the same way I do about the country. Keep doing what you do.

He answered accordingly that same night. But I choose to be cold right now, yet EVEN I KNOW the weight of my sin. But it is preferable to be cold than lukewarm, Jesus says so Himself. But most churchgoers are lukewarm. They will tell you how you must live your life, yet they do the exact opposite in darkness. They will call out the LGBT community, yet themselves participate in fornication and use of internet vice. Also, they do not repent but rather hide behind the "once saved, always saved" motto, despite that in and of itself being false doctrine. But they wouldn't know that because they haven't read the Bible (God's decree, promises, rules and regulations, and loving message to us ALL) from front to back for themselves. Instead, they grandstand, say they follow Christ, yet their actions cause others like them, their brethren, to fall from grace. The Bible, specifically the New Testament, is a scripture of peace, forgiveness, conviction, sanctification, casting away the old and donning the new, praying for others rather than hating them... It is a new law of "love the Lord your God with all your heart" and "love your brother as you do yourself." Yet the church today is full of pharisees, vipers, wolves, idol worshippers, advent sinners, blasphemers, and wicked evildoers who do everything they can through their actions to show the outside world that our ways are no different than the heathens (me included). According to the Bible, yes, there will be people who prophesy, cast out demons, and call upon God who will be turned away at the gate and wonder WHY. The Bible says so, so it must be so. Unless God is a liar. But He is a Spirit and so He CANNOT lie. So, stop worrying about the splinter your brother's eye when you have a plank in your own. The modern-day church only exists to draw disciples TO Christ and to provoke the Jews to jealousy so that they will want what we have and come to Yeshua, because Israel IS the APPLE OF GOD'S EYE. Do you want to know why I'm cold? No, I haven't lost faith in God; I've lost faith in those who claim to follow God. They are sorry examples and only serve as a mockery for my Savior's sacrifice. I was on fire for God. Rid myself of abominations for years. Then came Trump. Then came the racism. Then came the hate. Then came the false prophets claiming Trump as Christ (blasphemy). I have since separated myself from the church because the message became clear: hate is a priority over love; condemnation is a priority over conviction; racism is a priority over loving they neighbor; money is an idol above God Almighty; sin is fine so long as your part of the in group. And I have no issue with Trump (not like the democrats do). I have an issue with a false body of Christ, a church of Satan come in an image of light. I have since fallen back into my bad habits and taken on the things that God hates (which is why I say I am cold) because I have no church to call home. They are wicked houses where devils thrive and tickle the ears of believers. I pray that I will be led to a church that preaches truthful doctrine, that my soul may be saved from the path I am going down now. I believe in God, but I do not love him because in my heart I cannot repent from my sin. I am ALWAY reminded of the wicked deeds I've witnessed "Christians" saying and doing these past years, and I have been appalled. I ask myself, "why do I have to if they don't have to?" This is the GREATEST test I have ever face and it's tearing me apart because I know I must find a way to return to God, either with the church or without it. Moral of the story: religion doesn't need politics for this very reason. It turns otherwise good disciples into heathens. If you want to vote for Trump, do it. But don't involve it with scripture. Politics is a manmade institution, whereas the scripture is of the Spirit. The same reason why church must be separate from state is the same reason why the flesh must be separate from spirit (I do not mean this in the way that democrats mean it). They coalesce into an unholy union where wickedness becomes righteousness and righteousness becomes wickedness, becoming a stumbling block to many and a repellent for few others. I do believe I'll find my path again, but right now, I have been deeply damaged by what I've been exposed to in the church these past few years. From promoting outright LGBT culture to hating LGBT persons. It's all sick. The church is confused and rotting from the inside out.

I used to go to church all the time… Almost 80 now and as I watch what has happened to the pastors of our day is so painful. And that Pastor is one… When Jesus walked the Earth he was of grace and I don’t remember him ever saying or writing “you make me sick”… I think the harsh one I ever read was get the behind me Satan . I find it interesting that anyone who knows God in their heart can’t see the evil of this man… Jesus said “so as a man speaketh so is he.”

I live in Australia. I remember when the premier of New South Wales was caught in a lie. One single lie. And his response was to resign immediately. He was wrong to have told the lie, but he did the right thing by resigning within hours. A businessman had said that he had given an expensive bottle of wine to the premier. But the premier denied it. Then the businessman produced a thank you card, from the premier and his wife, thanking the businessman and his wife for the lovely wine. The event was even recorded in the premier's diary it was later proved. He said it had slipped his mind, and resigned, stating that his position had become untenable. So that was the end of his career as a politician. But Donald Trump tells lies every day, it can easily be shown, by comparing his public statements from one week to the next. Donald Trump has lost numerous court cases. He always pleads his innocence stating that he is under seige, that it's all political persecution by the Democrats and the Biden Crime family. He is now promising to get them back if he is elected president. So Donald Trump thinks the president should be a police officer who can arrest and charge people and throw them in jail. As well as being a prosecutor, a judge, a jury and a jailer. Trump doesn't promote forgiveness, tolerance or understanding. He Just wants to punish people who don't support him. Because he is such a victim. Trump believes in anger, retribution and punishment. He is opposed to forgiveness. He hates people. So heaven help America if he ever becomes president. He bears false witness. He speaks with forked tongue. He only wants Christians to vote him into power and keep him there.

Pastor Pat. I come from a Republican background but I really never was a strong political person. But back when Obama was president I started seeing a lot of lies coming from the Republican side that turned me around. But the lies became many and frequent after that. I feel the Democratic agenda fits me better and I don’t have to accept lies. I like better they better support the poor. I feel like immigrants are our brothers and sisters and god would rather we help them rather than turn them away! That said, I love how you recommend we see the world not as mortal but as Christians.
