I find the mobility an issues with this chesty really hard reaching my mask or drinking water. The oversized shoulder cap seems to be the issue.

Thanks for the review. I was considering a Vaughn Ve8/V9 chesty but their arm protection just seems so poor, even on the Pro Carbon models.... I might just stick with Warrior or try Brian's, seems like a well made product.

I am not sure why the top Vaughn units aren't their Pro Spec ones with the considerably beefed arms. If the retail stuff was made of the same materials as the NHL return gear is I would buy it and recommend it in a second.

I don't wear a neck gaurd does this go over or near the collarbone or have you tried other chestys that would be better without a neck gaurd

Unfortunately I don't have this chest to take a look at this. I never noticed it not covering the collarbone or being less padded up there compared to anything else though.

I have an optik 1 chesty and it's been the best chesty I've had. My only problem with it is that it seems a bit small compared to other chest protectors (I have an XL). I would kill for the optik 2, though. It looks bigger and, overall, better than the optik 1.

They are already on store shelves (that's where I got this). But I think the pandemic thing has stopped a bunch of places from really updating websites and inventory.

U should try a medium because u have to pull the chest up so much so just go with the medium

I have it. It's a tank. The arms are extremely long though compared to CCM. Like each arm was 3 inches too long and that's after adjusting them to be at the shortest option (I'm 5'10'' and I wear a large and I was coming from the CMM EFlex E2.9). Something annoying about it is that there are these flaps at the inside of the elbow that aren't attached to anything. Like they get inserted into an opening, but they come out of that opening often when putting jerseys on.

@@HockeyReviews I’m ordering this today with extra padding in the arm and rib area. Tired of all of the stingers and bruises from my V7 Pro Carbon.

@@HockeyReviews I mean it’s Brian’s so they’ll let you do anything. Ordering it with custom colors from their website and having all of the straps changed to black instead of following the gold like in this video. Those are all the same spot on their customizer. And adding the extra protection to the arms and ribs. Didn’t really think I’d need anything extra to the chest. It’s a $90 CAD up charge for the extra padding.

Just got my custom chest in today with the beefed up protection. The side pieces feel the same as the stomach blocks so I highly recommend that upgrade. I untuck mine but I’m not sure that I’d use the side pieces either. Can’t wait to try it out next week.
