Gender dysphoria, as with many if not most psychological disorders, is almost exclusively an affliction of the privileged, and it shouldn't be that much of a mystery to see why. When people believe their happiness is contingent on getting want they want, truly appreciating what they have has a tendency to go by the wayside fairly quickly. On the other hand, when you don't have much materially, appreciation for what you do have is generally the default. It's not an accident the tribesmen were happy.
@JustinL614

@@ironymatt Okay that's a nice way of looking at things as someone who is in a healthy state of mind but things like depression and other mental issues sometimes have no apparent reason and can be hard to treat without alot of work. With that being said, there are so many types of dysphoria but we don't entertain them.. we treat them with the exception of only gender dysphoria. With Gender dysphoria we put these people through the mill and produce a ton of suffering without asking questions.
@ironymatt
@ironymatt 2 жыл бұрын
@JustinL614 that's a pretty big assumption to say that "we produce the suffering". Denial of reality will *always* produce suffering - ask someone who jumps off a cliff flapping his arms because "in his reality" he can fly like a bird. Just because many forms of denial don't have such immediate consequences doesn't mean said denial won't sooner or later end up in some form of suffering. Every action most certainly has an equal and opposite reaction, even if one is buffered from the consequences of their actions. The problems can manifest in an almost unimaginable number of ways, but at their root aren't fully comprehensible by merely human means. All goodness, all truth, all beauty, and by extension all happiness and flourishing can only have their source in the infinitive divine, from whom all reality was brought into existence. At the human level all we can do is find explanations that temporarily satisfy us, and mitigate some of the symptoms, but happiness comes from above. Always has, always will (say it like Elvis😀). Bear in mind I'm not saying material success is wrong in and of itself, but such success does have a pretty strong tendency to insulate us from the natural order, and sometimes to our great and/or seemingly mysterious detriment.

When it comes to the "demonic" stuff...I think you might be onto something. For me it's not so much their tone (although they can be very grating and condescending and baby-talking), it's the moral relativism itself. It reminds me of the Serpent in the Garden of Eden. "You can do whatever you want...you can be whatever you want... Only you know what's best for you, no one else! Especially not God!" Yeah, and it's very likely that they view Satan in a positive sense as a "liberator". From a purely aesthetic symbolic perspective of course, since the prerequisite of this thought is first doubt and resentment of God and second atheist belief that He does not exist and instead we're just all here for no meaning or truth. Then one decends into nihilism and moral relativism, but also depression, anger, ego and misanthropy. This was my own trajectory so I think it's pretty accurate. Thankfully, I've never really been on board with the lgbt and progressivism (except in the vague sense of it being normalised as the correct and "sophisticated" position. The left wants limits to be foggy so they can submerge the population into a nebulosa of concepts where everything is subjective. Take the question what is a woman as an example. Their first answer is someone who identifies as a woman. This is obviously a circular definition but when someone points that out the activists refuse to provide an alternative definition. If we dive even deeper into this, an argument used to defend the leftist position of not defining the term woman is that we don't need definitions and they only exist for practical use. This complete brain damaged ""argument" is against logic because if we shouldn't define anything, then reality shouldn't be defined, then we can't reach conclusions, then we are stuck intelectually. I still think Trent needs to debunk souls as even real, like really strongly push back against woo like that, because it might be that the neurobiological explanation doesn't reach all the way to transgender -- merely proving intersex is a thing, or the brain is malleable and makes mistakes. For someone with gender dysphoria, that's a tough place mentally. I think for a more comfortable, simpler answer, souls are always going to be a popular post-hoc explanation. Trans is often couched in quasi-religious terms, it's often framed in "born this way" "my soul has always been different to my body" type of language. So come on Trent. Go after the low-hanging fruit: no one has a soul, so no one has a mismatched soul. On an epistemological note, it's interesting how conservative Christians don't quickly grab the easy supernatural explanation "god did it! "when it's something they don't like. Oh no, they want something else. And they stay fully rooted in the material world.

@@stephengalanis I don't think you or I share much incommon in terms of our world veiw. For instance I don't share your views on hard naturalism. I find thought and perception to be much more fundamental to reality than the materials we interact with. After all in hard naturalism selection isn't for truth, self awareness or reality. Those ideas are irrelevant to survival! Yet here you and I sit discussing such concepts as if they are meaningful. This would be impossible for me to treat seriously if I accepted hard naturalism. None of this matters or even actualy exists in the veiws of a purely material reality. We would be simply two chemical interactions bumping into each other with nothing being conveyed but elections. Honestly I don't think that I could treat this conversation as meaningful if I remotly thought that was true. Yet the structure of our conversation it's self feels as if it is meaningful. Conversation, words and ideas converted into electronic patterns sent around the world creating not just a simple pattern of chemistry, but new ideas and ways to interact with perception and the reality of our experience. I to me it seems like you're assuming you're perception of reality is more true than the trans person or Trents how if hard naturalism is true none of that is relevant because it's simply a just chemical interaction. To acknowledge the value of these conversations is simply to acknowledge that their is something more than a simple chemical interaction what one might understand as a soul. Yes this means to me that this conversation it's self runs counter to accepting hard naturalism. On the other side transgender actively seeking to alter the natural reality in attendance to their perception. Going so far as to not simply alter their bodies but to force others into their perception, "canceling" those who will not capitulate. I think what you precive as "they stay fully rooted in the material world" is convenient dismissal of their believe in a common reality and seeing the value in respecting that common ground.

I think Matt missed an opportunity there to ask (ideally before asking what is a woman) "what is a transgender person" - surely they'd have a definition for that, and then it would be even harder to weasel out of answering a similar question for the term "woman". Knowing that I don't really look like I see myself, doesn't change the fact that I feel I do. If the same insanity that applies to those suffering from gender dysphoria, applied to those of us who struggle with body dysmorphia, then doctors would encourage people with anorexia to starve themselves to death, and I could expect a store clerk to tell me that I am a size 10, even though I am a size 2, otherwise they could be cancelled, fired, or jailed. @@ChillAssTurtle You should read a dictionary because this is literally the definition of the word woman: adult human female. This is literally the definition of the word female: of or denoting the sex that can bear offspring or produce eggs, distinguished biologically by the production of gametes (ova) which can be fertilized by male gametes. So as you can see the word woman (and man) literally refers to sex and the question I ask is: is this supposed to be surprising? When we put a man and woman side by side we can tell who is a man and who is a woman because of the biological differences between both genders. When we say the words: "we're fighting for women's rights" these words have meaning and we know whose rights we're fighting for don't we? Gender pay gap is based on what? I honestly don't understand why some people pretend not to know what is woman?!

Gender critical feminist woman, here. NOT conservative, (although also seriously disillusioned with what passes for current-day "progressivism"), NOT conventionally religious, and just generally NOT a fan of imposed social gender norms, that so many religious conservatives glorify. Anyway... Don't get me wrong, I think it's AWESOME that Matt is doing this! And I think it's really important, as he's got a HUGE conservative + Christian following! And will therefore be able to reach WAY more people than someone like me, who's got no such following to speak of! I hope his documentary causes a HUGE stir, and truly starts to wake people up, that were previously asleep, to what's truly going on! It's great! However..? It just really, really irks me when conservative men, who most likely have not been following this issue for anywhere NEAR as long as women like me have, just sort of unthinkingly go: "oh, he is the FIRST to speak out about this! No one else is doing it!" When.. us gender critical women, and radical feminists in general, (I don't personally consider myself fully a rad fem, but I agree with them on SOME things, and recognize that they were most likely the first group of people to speak out against gender ideology, and anything else that tries to erase women), have been fighting this fight for bloody YEARS now! WAY before you guys had even started to wake up and smell the coffee! (In fact, the very word 'TERF', which is the MAIN OG slur hurled at anyone who opposes gender ideology, by trans activists..? Stands for Trans Exclusionary Radical Feminist! NOT for Trans Exclusionary Religious Conservative! Go figure.) And..? We object to this shit on markedly different grounds than you do! Although there is plenty of overlap, too. Which is why I don't mind allying with conservatives who agree with me on this issue. But ultimately..? GCs and rad fems are AGAINST the imposition of gender norms, but FOR accepting biological sex as reality! But saying: "you are your sex, but these gender norms are bullshit, and you can still be EVERYTHING that you are, regardless!" While the conservative perspective..? Is, in simple, basic terms: "biological sex is real! Plus gender norms are great, and you should be following whatever rigid social gender norms society tries to push on your sex class! And be either a masculine man, or a feminine female!" Which is something us GCs very much oppose, and see as harmful and detrimental. ..Just had to point that out, because this is starting to bother me more and more. This whole thing about conservative men trying to claim they were the first ones to enter this fight! Because you're not. And your perspective on it is NOT the only possible way to oppose gender ideology, either! The way I see it, actually..? There are THREE basic schools as far as this issue is concerned! You've got the trans activists, you've got the conservatives, and then you've got the gender critical feminists. Which.. I'm the latter. And I would really, REALLY like for our existence, and importance, to be recognized as well. Thank you.

Thank you for your comment. While I was aware of terms like "TERF" and that there are feminists that are against trans ideology, I will admit I was not aware of any time line as to who made such and such an argument first. Perhaps it is because your view point, like many others, are pushed far from the mainstream. Any opinion that is not pro-trans is pretty much considered fringe by the mainstream, so someone like myself would almost have no chance of happening upon your ideas unless I was specifically seeking them out. I think that is the reason you don't hear much acknowledgment of it. The conservative/Christian scene is also much bigger, and therefore has the loader and most noticed voice. "before you guys had even started to wake up and smell the coffee!" Most likely true. The religious conservative side never really was in the loop of lgbt matters, so we would not have been aware of their goings on at the earliest stages. I also don't believe anyone is saying our perspective is the only one, it is simply the one that comes naturally from our particular cultural stand point. And just to touch upon the idea that conservatives insist on ridged gender norms. Most of us conservatives (men like myself) don't expect women to be in the kitchen making sandwiches and doing our laundry. While some (both men and women) prefer traditional roles, we are not fervently against any deviation. I myself know many women in "masculine" professions like law enforcement, and never once thought they were out of their "role". I only add this in the hope of easing the negative stereotype that has been placed on conservatives. Would you say that your point of view provides any arguments against trans ideology that the conservative side does not use and vice versa?

@@owlobsidian6965 You ask:: "Would you say that your point of view provides any arguments against trans ideology that the conservative side does not use and vice versa?" I am not the person you ask, but I will start with one answer: Radfems point out that the most likely kids to be sterilized by this are gay or future gay youths, autistic youths, and youth with mental health problems. They complain that many parents will rather have a "straight girl" (who is sexually neutered) than a gay boy, and rather have a straight "boy" (who can't reproduce) than a lesbian daughter. They see this as conversion therapy per definition. Conservatives who fight against gender ideology are not so likely to point that out, as some of their listeners may indeed prefer a neutered, "gender reassigned" "straight" child to a gay child.
@owlobsidian6965
@owlobsidian6965 Жыл бұрын
@@rethaf4387 that's an interesting take, but I would have to disagree. Anyone who would be strongly opposed to a gay child would not see a trans child as the preferable option. @@owlobsidian6965 Several parents actually do say they were strongly anti-gay, then decided to trans their kids. Next movie should be "What is a parent?" Or "What is a child?" Seeing pro-choice politicians arguing about it being a woman's choice on when to become a parent and start a family, no one asks them "When does that happen? When do you become a parent?" If you're considering an abortion, it's already apparent you're a parent. And the pro-choice lie is the true war on women, on the child, and on the family. We need love and prayers for all. ... and to answer the questions, seems to me that I became a child when my mom and dad became parents, and that happened at conception. I may now be an adult, but I will always be their child, and that distinction came at conception.

The wonder of straw men! "What is a viable foetus" has been defined legally and a foetus is not a child - which is a birthed human being under the age of 18. You should stop pushing your own ideology, which is basically : "women should be forced to keep children when they are pregnant because I am a dumb fuck religious bitch who cannot understand that life is not the same for everybody and circonstances are importants and wants to impose my point of view on others". Having the choice is important for women, and if you don't understand how, for almost all women, having an abortion is a really difficult choice physically and psychologically, then you are basically really stupid, egocentric and narrow minded. Now for "what is a child", you look at a dictionary but more importantly at the law, because this is a legal issue. And your other question "what is a parent", considering your overall comment, is juste a rhetorical question to blame people who are in favour of abortion by underlining the fact that they "should" consider themselves as a parent right when the woman becomes pregnant so they would have another moral obligation to keep the child, which is cruel and basically immoral.

Thanks for sharing this Trent. You mention towards the end at 25:45 that over the ages people argue "That "insert crazy idea here" will never catch on." yet it does catch on. I agree, that is exactly how evil moves, slow and steady. Now younger and younger people, who lack real-world experience and wisdom, are the target. Something I have come to notice is that evil doesn't care about winning. Evil is aware that in the end, it will be defeated. For evil, It's not about winning, it's about burning down as much as possible before the trumpet sounds. To prevent, or at least reduce the amount of damage being done, we have to speak truth to people and not give in to the social pressure of accepting insanity just to get along. The people who encourage this or practice it need help and hope.

While I understand your criticism for Matt not going in depth into *his* definition, the fact is, he *cannot* go into his definition. The people he's interviewing are snakes. They know how to manipulate a conversation to their advantage, so you can't provide them with the in to change the subject. If Matt provided these people with his definition at length, the interviewees would bring out the laundry list of technicalities that don't actually prove anything and will use those technicalities to dismiss Matt's point. In other words, if you give the ideologues the opportunity, the conversation will no longer be about what THEY are saying, but about what HE is saying, and the documentary falls flat. It's an exposé, and you can't do that if the subject goes off on a diatribe about the vague, buzzwordy nonsense they feed their college students every day.

I think there will eventually be a part 2 where the Daily Wire and Walsh will provide an argument for their own definition. Like you say, it’s pretty pointless to debate this with the gender ideologues because it will become a circular argument full of bad faith, but I think they can build and showcase his definition through the friendly/like minded interviews that they include. This particular doc was simply about showing that modern gender theorists will refuse to define their terms and answer obvious questions, and shining a light on that.

In regards to the Dr. Phil show, Matt Walsh has stated that the show edited out and omitted a lot of what he said. Just another reason I don’t watch Dr. Phil. And in regards of showing the documentary to your kids when they are older, well, if your kids are going to public schools they are already being groomed at an early age. I’m not sure where you are located, but in CA and NY, 6 year olds were being taught about self pleasure in schools. So if they are going to public schools I would recommend earlier than 10, unfortunately. If home schooled and Christian private school then I agree that older is better. But kids are highly sexualized at elementary age today in society.

I find it impossible to keep my kids off of social media. They have phones. You take their phone away, they have numerous other items to get on social media wether it be a gaming console, an ipad, or your smart TV, or by using a friends device. They go to school where the majority of kids all share these whacky opinions, etc. At my kids school it is considered hip and cool to be unique and/or trans, or whatever made up gender they can think of. Their first day of school all the kids had to get up and state their preferred pronouns to make sure everyone labels them correctly and when turning in paperwork they need to include their pronouns by their name, etc. It almost forces kids to have these views. Our kids mostly have the opposite views of what their mother and myself have. Which isn't bad in it's own right, they can be their own persons. But, a lot of their views are just....... wrong(?) and kinda crazy. It feels totally helpless and hopeless as a parent. You can't speak up about any of it without being called a transphobe, homophobe, racist, or whatever.

Speak up and dont be afraid. By being afraid and not speaking up, not organising pressure with other parents you are literally supporting and accepting this. If you want your kids to not be consumed by this you need to actively create a space, or find them spaces and activities that are contrary to this. Also culture, culture culture. The most authentic thing is to figure out your ethnic culture, and then reject everything modern in favor of it. Cottagecore is an example of this. HanFu is an example of this. Setting up training time for you and your son (if you have one) is huge. Setting up and preparing him for some kind of major right of passage is also huge (say an actual amateur fight, hair cutting etc.) I understand what you are saying, and the issue is a lot of people say very general thigns with very little examples or a critical approach to these things which really leads nowhere. Im a not so young man anymore, 26 years old, no kids (because university has sucked 7 years from me, they be damned!) but I desire kids and having listened to a lot of younger men especially, and a lot of others who reflected on their life, culture is what we are missing and we are missing it completely. Dont pick and choose your ethnic culture, find it, search it, and embrace it in totality. Modernize it where it fails to be modern. The same goes for many things. Dont be afraid of getting your kids disciplined by having them play an instrument for one hour. heck maybe you do all these things already! In that case good for you. But from what ive gathered a lot of "children being lost" is them being left to their own devices and not being mentored by their parents and having no common activities. The most conservative and proper people ive met, in the case of men in particular, was those who for example trained with their fathers. Something I didnt have and it resulted in me becoming a genuine communist at one point.

Hello, I can help out with your question. The best way to figure it out is to compare the number of covid cases from states that had the mask mandates vs the states that did not have mask mandates. The numbers can be found on the CDC’s website, and each state also has their own websites to track covid numbers.

San Francisco gets a lot of hate and for sure there is much that needs to be cleaned up. That being said,went there before COVID hit and it was a fantastic time. It's incredibly beautiful as a region, misty redwood forests and the bay,and you gotta love those blustery cold summers. I was really bummed when they tore down Candlestick and don't forget that JPII had mass there.

10 years ago black Americans were voting against gay marriage in referendums, now they are pretending to be for trans issues. Social studies are not only anti-scientific but anti-ethics and thus immoral in essence. I remember sitting in a sociology seminar where a case study was presented for us to analyze. Rather quickly I realized that the consequences presented in that case were directedly related to un-ethical behavior. However when I pointed out their problem, the professor was quick to point out that NO moral judgements are allowed in sociology. To which I replayed: "well if we can't point out to a problem, then we can't logically be asked for a solution either."

Edit: When I made this comment I didn't even know there was someone that identified as wolf in this film. I just got to the end of the video. 😅 I accidentally ended on the same point you did. The future is looking bleak. Someone would end up saying the height example you used isn't comparable because a major argument that I haven't heard much of lately but used to quite a few years ago was that the brains of transgender people are shown to function like the one in the body of someone with the gender they identify with. I suppose that argument isn't used as much today because you can be anything you want regardless of the logic (or absence of logic) used to come to the conclusion you are xx, xy, xz, yz, zz, or zz!#$&*. People used to scoff when others would say "if we accept gay people now eventually it's going to be ok to have sex with animals." Well... it's ok to be one now, to identify with something barely human, marry whatever and whoever you want, have a wolf spirit, so I'm just here waiting for b34stiality to become legalized to.
