This video came very timely for me because I was about to replace my Goretex jacket, which is still perfectly waterproof but has lacking ventilation and armour. So great that I can instead complement my jacket (minus armour) with the Knox Urbane Pro shirt for far less money and finally not melt this summer! I also was about to get the Nexx X.wed2, but now I have second thoughts...

Great intro, Robert 🤣 and a good decision to take the Adventure Spec (Made in 🇪🇺) riding gear, which I use as well. I selected mid layers and jackets in "L" and the rain jacket in "XL" fits well above it all. I haven't tried yet mid layer + rain layer with a protection west but this is actually a very nice idea. I had no hair dryer for my Toucan boots after the last water crossing happening so it took me a week to dry them out. And good to know that you continue with the 🇸🇪 tradition of a long summer break, which my colleagues and friends in Sweden do so as well. Have a great summer and looking forward for the next videos, Bernd 💙💛🏁🤛🏼

hello, i'm thinking about buying clothes from Adv Spec, what dimensions do you have? I chose Forcfield as a protector, as a mid layer baltic hybrid and as a rain protection single track jacket. I'm 188 tall and weighing around 90 kg. how to choose the size? what layer size is bigger?
@skybluetenere2 жыл бұрын
@@maxkalita4420 Hi Max, I'm actually 1,88 m tall as well and my weight is 90-92 kg. My Fjällraven hiking pants size is 52 as reference. I have chosen: Mongolia Trail Jacket (L) Mongolia Trail Pants (36, regular) Baltic Hybrid Jacket (L) Singletrack Jacket (XL) =OPTIONAL============ Linesman Jacket (L) Baltic Insulated Jacket (L) Both jackets and the pants are equipped with the protectors. With a Merino wool base layer any of the above combination works well for me. With just a shirt but no mid layer there is more air under the Linesman Jacket. There is a new video out from AS explaining their size idea. I hope my explanation helps. Save rides, Bernd

@@NomadSweden hello Robert, thank you for the answer, I'm just collecting information about the sizes to find the right one. as you can see in the leayer system it is the variables. one layer is enough and the size is already changing. in your example you can also see that you have baltic and single in the same size.
@NomadSweden2 жыл бұрын
@@maxkalita4420 I normally go for Medium on the base layers like t-shirts, long johns etc to keep them snug, and one size up on the outer stuff to acommodate layering and also I am pretty much between sizes normally.

After watching this video, I got myself the Knox Urbane Pro (the previous, non-MK2 version - the same as you have, I believe - at half price), and I'm really happy with it! Fantastic to be liberated from having to wear my big and bulky 'standard' motorcycle jacket in all conditions. When a bit bit chilly, I may just but a fleece and perhaps some vind/rain cover over that again, and good to go. - Super comfy and no need for a EUR 1000 Klim jacket! 😃👍 Thanks for that tip!

You have the same thoughts regarding the jacket as I have. A soon as I got the Knox Urbane Pro I removed all the ”built-in” protection from my regular motorcycle jacket and just use it as wind/water-protection top layer, and when I need I just put on a mid-layer. Also, it would be fun to see what tools/repair-kit you bring with you, on your trips. I'm struggling not to bring too much in my tool roll.

I need to get that Knox Urbane Pro mesh shirt. I've been waiting to buy it during the off season when it's available and more affordable. I'm a big fan of layers and it makes sense to me to have the abrasion resistance as close to me as possible, then add warmth and rain protection separately as needed. I already have good insulating and waterproof layers so no need to pay for those in a motorcycle specific garment. The Adventure Spec gear looks great. Checking them out now. Thanks.

From the point of view of man on recovery after accident: you should consider to get better gloves. Adventure Spec has been putting out some great gear lately. I have the first iteration of the Mongolia pant and v2 of the Atacama race pant, Linesman and Mongolia jackets. I love them all! Generally their prices seem ok for what you are getting, but it seems pretty hard to justify $500 USD for the singletrack jacket. For gloves I've really enjoyed the Rev'it Sand 3 for 3 season use. Once you've put some miles on the Klim Krios Pro, can you do a more in depth review? I've been looking at upgrading from a Bell MX-9. The fact that Krios pro has a transitions visor is a big selling point for me, cause I hate having to carry around the extra visor.
@yagian3 жыл бұрын
I've put a decent amount of miles on my Klim Krios. The comfort level holds up over time and it still feels like a new helmet. The peak messes with the transition visor a little if you have the visor up for any length of time. When you close it you are then looking through a checkerboard which is an odd feeling. I also find the helmet vibrates a lot at high speed with the peak on so I remove it if I'm going to be doing lots of highway. Maybe I needed a Medium instead of a Large? But overall I love it. I've been admiring that AS jacket for some time now and will going in that direction when it's time to retire my current gear
