My rusty old Bongo gets stripped for paint! Plus a look at my rusty parts van

I've had my faithful old Bongo for nearly 10 years, its time to either scrap it or restore it, I've chosen the latter. I love my van, it's probably my favourite of the fleet, so its time to jump on all the rust, get it sorted and painted so I can get another 10 years of service from it.
In this video I strip the van and some bits off the parts van and take it down to JRP Resprays in Bridgend to get it prepped for welding and paint.

Thats a good idea, when I strip the engine out I should do a proper walk through as it'll be on my mates lift.

I'll send him the scrap one, loads of welding on that 😆 Yeah the Volvo will be sorted soon, weather and work have gotten in the way.

Good to see you back Steve. Did you find any money when taking interior out...lol. The paint scheme will look good if you painted it like the A-TEAM van. Then slam the suspension.

hi ive seen a few of your vids on bongos compared to vw which you also owned which is the better and why,it looks like mt old fiat panda in build thin sheeted metal as cheap as they can get away with but i loved it seats always down it was a workhorse carrying stuff i could get my bike in it large greyhound ,they look simple in build as im no mechanic i like bolt on stuff like old morris minors again a simple car great vids any advice on bongo i would appreciate it thanks sam

I've had my Bongo around 10 years now and I don't think I would part with it. I prefer them over the T4 VW, I've just never really liked those, the Bongo has more character. I will say though, parts and labour is simpler on the VW. The main thing to watch for on a Bongo is rot, check everywhere, especially rear arches and sills.

Hi Steve. Plse can you help. Can you tell me the path the rear window washer (squirter) pipe takes through the Bongo. Mine doesn't work . I think the pipe maybe blocked or squashed flat as I cannot blow air through it by the jet back door etc. Cheers from old George ps not sure where the pump is either.
