I've had a similar situation but a Coleman 17b from camping world have issues with it. Couldn't get in. Finally got in and they had it for 2 and 1/2 months. They fixed some stuff. There was two page list. I get it back what they fixed is so shoddy I could have fixed it myself but I said hey you know it's under warranty and they got to fix all this stuff. Let him fix this too. It's just a lot of little stuff but it's like molding issues staple sticking out. They replaced my kitchen cabinet because it was all warped on the bottom. The new one now all the paper is coming off. I mean I can go on and on about the stuff going on and pretty good camper overall but it's just horrible. They had my camper for 2 and 1/2 months and now I got a cracked toilet too and I didn't have a cracked toilet before. I'm missing a piece out of my air conditioner that wasn't missing. There is a lot of stuff that happened

@@LizAmazingI don’t know if they even will. The business plan of most corporations nowadays are to own such a large chunk of the market share consumers have little choice, so it indefinitely keeps them in business despite bad quality. This is across the entire economy.
@stayanddrown6 ай бұрын
@@Fitz710You are correct. But it's even worse. I've worked in manufacturing for almost 20 years now. I have watched quality decline across many areas of manufacturing. This is a systemic issue deep within our economy. Every company tries to push out as much product as they can, as quickly as they can, as cheaply as they can. This is why Boeing has parts falling off planes, and trains are derailing. They are choosing quantity over quality. This is also a monetary issue. When our currency is devalued as much as ours has been, companies have to make their products out of cheaper materials to keep them profitable & affordable. If they build quality products with quality materials, no one will be able to afford them. This is why common household appliances that used to last decades are practically disposable now.

@@backtoasimplelife RV Manufacturers need a huge Class Action Lawsuit and federal regulations to change their behavior. Without that, they'll keep doing it. I remember I had a 2021 Coachmen Chaparral that had water leaks right off the lot. I brought it in for warranty service and they fixed that area. About 4 weeks later, the back of my camper started delaminating. Brought it back again, and they "Fixed" it. Once I got it back again, it started delaminating again 2 weeks later, and the outlets on the back side of the camper stopped working. I took the outlets out and it was beyond soaked back there. I could wring the insulation out like a sponge. A lot of the inner wood was starting to rot and get soft. I brought it back in again, and this time they wouldn't touch it. They said it needed the whole back end of the camper replaced, and it had to be done by the manufacturer, (which is a 3 day drive from where I am) I called Coachmen (Owned by Forest River) and told them about the issues, etc etc. They claimed that the earliest they'd be able to fix it was in October of 2022. (I called them in January of 2022) So for those months I waited, I had the whole camper covered under a tarp to avoid more water leaks. Once I had paid and arranged for the camper to be delivered over there, Coachmen called me one week before my appointment and said they cant do the work because the warranty expired in June of 2022 unless I paid for the costs (Which was quoted at above $23,000) Coachmen decided to not honor my warranty even though I had set the appointment up 6 months before my Warranty expired. A bunch of back and forth and hardly getting any help from Coachmen, in late November of 2022, I told them that if they didnt fix my camper, or buy it back that I would be seeking advice from a lawyer. They ghosted me when I said that. A week later I called them and threatened one final time, and the man on the phone literally said "Bring it. Sue us" and then he hung up the phone. A few days later, I hired a lawyer, and the lawyer found they were in breach of warranty contract because they didn't fix my camper even though they were aware of the issue long before the warranty was up. My lawyer sent lawsuit papers to Coachmen with his findings, and this was brought into court in March of 2023. The case went on for a couple days and Coachmen's lawyers were working really hard to convince the judge that they were unaware of my campers issues (which was countered by proof that an appointment for the issue was set up in Jan of 2022. In the end, the Judge THANKFULLY Ruled in my favor, and forced Coachmen to buy my camper back and awarded me $6000 ontop for my troubles. Coachmen refunded me the cost of the camper (Which was about $60,000) so I got $66,000 in my settlement. However, after I won the case against Coachmen, Coachmen called me a few weeks later and told me I was banned from any Coachmen store or lot and that they would not sell me another camper again. Good Riddance to them. I purchased a slightly used 2018 Jayco in June of 2023 and this camper has had zero issues other than the microwave not working. But that was a cheap fix.

So many horror stories that you share Liz. In my life, I have made two RV purchases, one and 2013 and another in 2016. Both of these RVs have held up very well. After seeing all of your videos , particularly this one, I don’t think I want to even dare buy another RV.

Feel so sad for that lady. After going to Camping World once, I have never ever never been back. they try to add up all kinds of crap to your bill and by the way, I bought a used camper that had black tanks FULL of you know what. and the frig didnt work at all on propane.

It didn't need to it was running off the black tanks.

Liz it just amazes me that these manufacturers don’t give a damm about their reputation or the quality of their products. When I had my Cirrus 820 and had a couple issues they went out of there way to make it right. I bought this through a dealer and I was the second owner but that didn’t matter they still took care of the issues. I had purchased the Cirrus based on feedback from Scott and Sasha who were posting on there Stoney Boot channel. So my message is to manufactures pay attention to what the customers have to say. Being PENNY WIZE AND DOLLAR FOOLISH WILL COST YOU FAR MORE IN THE END. Liz keep up the good reporting.

With everything that has been going on with RV manufacturers and dealers I see only one option (for me at least) and that is to not buy another camper in the U.S. until the industry changes its practices.

Power to the people. It’s time to build your own RV. Fortunately for me, I only had minor issues with my Class B. However, I did had trouble finding a repair service place who is willing to touch my rig. Finally, Storyteller Overland is willing to rectify my problems - better late than never.

Hi Liz, you should start a spreadsheet and track all the people that call you regarding mfg, type of problem, RV year, RV type, did they reach out to mfg., dealer, etc and you can think of even more. This would make it easy for you to keep track of but you will also have records of all mfg defects per model. Basically ur starting a big data base. This will carry a lot of weight later when you are in front of Congress fighting for all the rv owners. There really is no excuse for crappy manufacturing and service. Company CEOs, engineers and management get paid a lot to figure this out and improve their company. The issue is that consumers put up with poor service, high prices, gouging, alacarte pricing, and sub-par manufacturing so why should they change. I watched a video the other day where people loved this basic no frills camper (it was a small hard side and I don't remember the name) and campers were buying it bc it was cheap. There have been hundreds of complaints and consumers know about all these issues, but they still buy it. When they buy it they put hundreds and thousands in it fixing it up, but they call it customizing and are proud of it. I was like, what? You buy a NEW cheap camper you know is falling part and you call fixing all the manufacturers work customizing...LOL This is diff than renovating or buying an old camper or rv and fixing it up bc problems are expected with age and there is a big base that makes their own or renovates older rvs or campers.. Unfortunately, this backward thinking is what we've come to expect and settle for bc were trying to convince ourselves the opposite of reality. Why is this all put on the consumer? An RV or camper coming out the manufacturers door should not be as bad as what's being experienced by others and yourself.

Forest River is owned by Berkshire Hathaway a billion dollar corporation which sole purpose is to generate shareholder value. I think once a company has so many layers of insulation from the consumer their focus remains on the profit margins and to hell with standing up and doing the right thing and correctly fixing this ladies RV. Since state legislators and the courts have failed to deal with the RV industry maybe the Federal courts would do a better job of enforcing consumer protection laws.

This very same situation happen to me and i have been fighting them since 2020. I had the very same situation as this lady (have) to include Forest River keeping 5000 dollars in reimbursements unless i sign a waiver. Same bedroom floor issue that i paid them to fix. Forest river destroyed my rv along with forest river. Sadly mine was two years old when i asked for help here so im screwed for life. Yet i have the very same issues and more here. My awning was damaged. The bedroom floor is a disaster and so much more. No help for me from anywhere tho. I hate these oeople with a passion.

Another great video Liz. I am proud of that woman/owner who was smart enough to inspect the repair work and notice the installer used cheap lumber under the slide and attempted to then cover it up. It is appalling they didn't even repair it with OEM material!! Outrageous. The owner is correct, keeping a journal and document every phone number, name, date/time etc. I had to use the same tactic on our fifthweel repairs. This video highlights both failure on Camping World and Forrest River. Camping World is certainly living up to their reputation. Keep up the great work Liz!

In my opinion, the time portion of RV warranties should be suspended for the amount of time they are sitting around waiting to be worked on at the dealer or service provider so they can't stall it out with a run-around-circle-jerk.

Ive been rv shopping for over two years. Everytime i find multiple owner reviews of problems in the first year i take them off my list. The money for a camper is 30 days away , and i have no campers on my list. That says it all! Im renting one, $50,000 was the cheapest camper i found. No f-ing way am i throwing it away on any campers! Im done searching.😢

Yep, it's amazing how expensive these new RVs have become. If you are still shopping, I would consider buying used. Not a good time to buy new, but trailers and fifth wheels built in 2018 and before tend to be well-built. The motorhome sweet spot is 2002 to 2008. Before you buy, join the Facebook group of the model to get the scoop from owners. And always get an inspection. Another advantage of buying used is the seller has typically gotten the kinks out. Thanks for watching. For more about what to buy used see my recent video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gITSZqFod5tlg6M

It seems, after looking at the many campers on the market, there are very few dissing 'Brinkley' to date. It might be the only one I'd choose, albeit it's more expensive than many others, there again if your paying for quality, it may be the best route!

I grew up camping with my dad and brother in a small 5th wheel. We had some wonderful weekends together that I'll never forget. Dad passed away a few years ago, and I started looking at different RVs after reminiscing about our adventures. My wife and I love visiting the national parks and the California coast, and she was really excited about the idea. After doing a bunch of research, I don't think I'm comfortable buying 95% of the RV products currently out there. Maybe we'll save up until we can afford one of the fiberglass trailers like Oliver or Bigfoot. I'd rather a smaller, more expensive product that's better quality than something that's going to fall apart after a year.

We've been RVing for over 20 years. Mark another manufacturer off the list. I really thought Forest River was better than this considering we owned a Rockwood for a few years and it served us very well. My oh my how things have changed. It's absolutely heart breaking. So sorry to hear of your issues with the Cedar Creek. I've been having the same issues with Forest River. I'll report issues, send photos and send videos and Forest River will simply state "we can't trouble shoot with pictures" but Forest River will not allow me to make another appointment to have the issues resolved. Forest River might be one of the better RV manufacturers, but the best of the worst is still bad. Hopefully you have a positive result with your Cedar Creek!
