Should be a nice and challenging build. 1/700 railing and plane parts.....WOW!!! :) Its a shame the automotive kit manufacturers don't take a lesson from these kits regarding molding and detail. Looking forward to seeing this one come together

Transition Modeller Thank you , yes I agree this level of detail is available in car models by only a few manufactures such as tamiya ,hasegawa,fujimi....tho Mobius is stepping up the game, I can't wait for their next 3-4 releases,, but it's taking forever!

Very interesting to see that several guys have picked ships for this GB. Not a genre we see that much of on out community, so am following the builds with great interest. Good luck.

Really nice looking kits. You are a brave man. Ship building scares me. I will be watching when you start this build

It is a little scary... thats why I tried to keep the cost down .. If I muck it ..not a big loss

Very rare you get metal barrels, and photo etch with a kit that size. I bought the USS New Jersey 1/350 over the holidays, it has everything including the wood deck, photo etch, an metal gun barrels. The cost was $177. But I figured that if I had to go hunting for all the after market parts, it would have cost a lot more. So I bit the bullet as it goes.

sounds like a great kit !..if it brings forth a great build it is well worth the expense

The Derfflinger is a great kit and definitely a steal for what you paid. Great choice on the Ayanami, too! I recommend to start with the Ayanami: Bigger parts and gettin' the feel. I will be watching this with great interest! Feel free to contact me, if you need help!

Guido Hopp Thank you, I have re-watched some of your videos, and have ordered some ushi rigging, I will most definitely need your help. I agree the Ayanimi should be my first attempt.

I'd be a bit intimidated by those itty bitty parts... the high-end tweezers will probably prove quite handy when it comes time.
