Super interesting!! I had Sculptra once in my temples several years ago with fairly good results. It was $800 per treatment, and ultimately my provider recommended 3 treatments 3 or 4 months apart. I only did the one treatment due to financial constraints, but was still happy with my results. Def going to revisit this! My temples are quite sunken in…almost like holes on the side of my head! LOL. I love the idea that it stimulates our own collagen/elastin production rather than artificial filling. Looking forward to your long term results. You are a perfect example of beautifully, healthfully and gracefully aging while exploring treatments to help you look as fresh and youthful as possible. Treatments, done selectively, can be a beautiful expression of self love and self care. And I am a firm believer that treatments and "aging gracefully" CAN go hand in hand. It is my hope, that in this beautiful mature community, we can all accept and support each others choices.

Hi love, I loved reading your comment! First off, I had no idea you had sculptra in the past, but I am glad to hear you liked the results and would consider it again. Second, yes! I def. think that aging gracefully and selective treatments can go hand in hand, you and I have talked about this many times. And I do hope we will get to a place, where we women support each others choices, regardless if we agree with them, without judgment. Love you xx

Hi Claudia. So here is my sculptra story haha. I am 53 in about 5 years ago I started to see you few changes in my face that I didn't like. So I went to my trusted ocular plastic surgeon's office since that's the only person my husband felt comfortable doing anything to my face. I thought I wanted fillers but she talked me into sculptra and I'm so glad she did. I had two treatments spaced a month apart and then we assess my progress. We decided that was enough for the year and that I would follow up with another treatment a year later. I think if anyone wants to see results without having plastic surgery this is the best way. Yes you can get fillers but as you know they don't last, this does. With very natural results. I haven't had any follow-up treatments in a couple of years but I'm jumping back on the wagon this year with two to three treatments. Yes it is expensive but so much better of an investment in my opinion. My treatments or about $600 a piece which is expensive but worth saving for. Thank you for being so honest and vulnerable with us. I really appreciate that.

I have had Sculptra twice in my life. I thought the results were amazing. You look so beautiful and I know that will get even better. I would do it now, but I have an autoimmune disease and would have to investigate whether I could or not. I do microneedling myself, which they don't recommend and I don't have any issue. However, I only go .050 in depth. I love your honesty. Aging is quite different for everyone. We all do what is best for us. Many blessings to you!

I also have an auto immune disease so it is very interesting that you say we should check into this before we do it. Thank you. I do micro needling at home also. I basically just started consistently recently so I’m waiting to see if there will be any results. I also purchased the ADURO LED facemask per Claudia‘s suggestion and it is also fairly new to me so we will see :-) thank you again for sharing that. They may not even recommend Botox people that have auto immune disease. I did have it though about six months ago.

Hi Susan, I am so glad to hear you had a good experience with Sulptra! However, I am very sorry to hear about your autoimmune disease. Did you have it at the time of treatment? Hi Nana, I am sorry to hear you are struggling with an autoimmune disease as well I actually was not aware that microneedling is contraindicated, before Susan mentioned it. So please make sure to take good care of yourself and do some further research. Botox might be different, since it does not require the body to built collagen. I think the worry is more about activating the immune system, while activating collagen production xx

@@nanastirt8611 I have had Botox with no harm. I read quite a bit yesterday, and they seem to concur that Botox should be ok. That said, it depends on what type of autoimmune disease you have. I have Mast Cell Activation Disorder. I am at risk for reactions to things. I have done microneedling several times and it's all ok. I do take an extra strength Benedryl before I do it. With Sculptra, it's a wait and see procedure. Because of the risk, I won't do it. It could cause multiple granulomas, with no assurance they would recede. I read the book that was written about microneedling and he mentioned in there about autoimmune disease. For me it works, but I won't go at a deep depth, and I don't think you need to. I also have the Aduro mask and there is no harm with that. I hope this helps you in some way.

First off, I want to thank you for your always wise words about esthetic treatments and how to balance it with self acceptance. I think that they go hand by hand. There is nothing wrong with trying to look better. I do it through makeup (and, interestingly, that is not as criticized as esthetic treatments being a way to look better as well) The problems is when the only way you feel better is through esthetic treatments, when it becomes an addiction, when you are dependent on them. I would and will do as many as I can when I have the money. In fact, I also have sunken cheeks so this procedure, which really looked brutal, is perfect for me. I have even considered fat transfer because I have plenty of it hips down. 😄 Thank you for sharing everything with us, specially your approach to self acceptance. You are and look beautiful. These procedures only enhance your natural beauty. 😘 Have an amazing week gorgeous!!! 🤗🤗

Hi Sara, I loved reading your comment. Thank you so much for bringing up the comparison with Makeup. You are so right, it is critiqued a lot less, yet in a way it does the same. And you are so right, improving ones appearance can go very well with loving oneself, as long as it does not become something one depends on. I actually think that doing a fat transfer is even more brutal. You need to harvest the fat first, then basically inject it the same as scultpra. But, it is supposed to last much longer, and of course, it is your own bodies material. Regardless of what you decide doing, you are stunning, inside and out!! xo

I absolutely think we can do both! Do nice things for others and so feel good about ourselves, (which I have struggled with as well … ongoing battle that I guess will be with me forever but I’ve come a long way) and obsess over skin care. It’s challenging and fun and one of the few things I do just for me. I love it that I can “share” that with you even though you are super far away. Few and far between skin care junkies like myself. I also like it that your channel is not just about moisturizers and sunscreen. Some of us, like myself, realize that for actual change and repair, get thee to your aesthetician for regular treatments. I’m going in in January for a “vampire face life” and then a few weeks later will start a second round of Scarlett RF. I had a few sessions last year as well. I finished the T33 tCA treatments a couple weeks ago and was pleased. No dramatic results but as with everything I do, results are cumulative and take a while to see results.

Hi beautiful Claudia! ❤️ I love this thorough video and I learned something new… I didn’t know sculptra could be fanned out in the skin with a cannula. It actually makes sense but the way I had it was to take about 10 needles to the face! 😂 Although I must say it was very bearable because I didn’t think there was any other way but I think the way your doctor did it seems smoother. I was very happy with my results I had three sessions and I feel like I got the volume back in my lower cheeks. Your cheekbones are absolutely gorgeous! I know what you mean by being sunken I have high cheekbones too and I got very sunken in the side of my face. At first it was nice because I had a rather chubby face growing up so as I aged I felt like I liked my thinned out face… But then it kept going! Thank you for sharing again Claudia… And I love what you said… “Aging gracefully means different things to different people.“ I agree 100%! 😘❤️

So excited to see your results, Claudia! I had Sculptra done last September and the second dose in November. My provider used a topical numbing cream but I still felt the shots. Mama mia. Afterwards my jaw was pretty sore for a couple of days. Also, I forgot and took fish oil capsules the night before, so I bruised in several places but that could have easily been avoided. My face was tender and it hurt to massage it for the first day, but then I've got really sensitive skin so not the case for everyone. Have to go back in January for third (smaller) dose. I didn't think I saw much change until I took a selfie with friends. The picture definitely showed softening of wrinkles and a more "refreshed" look. Hoping for greater results over time.

Claudia, this was such a great video! I also, liked how you talk led about Aging Gracefully means different things to different people and that is SO true! It's kind of like when a person wants to lose weight, you have the person that just wants to fit into a pair of jeans and is fine--they may just take walks and cut calories. Then you have the person that wants to get "toned", the person that just wants to eat healthy, or the person that wants more muscle, then of course the body builder. Their is no "right look" the only "right look" is the one that feels best for you. That is how I feel about the face as well, some want an holistic skincare, some want to keep their skin looking great minimally, or with devices only, or those that want Botox, or plastic surgery. Whatever look you want, is right for YOU. And make sure it comes from a place of love and acceptance, if it doesn't, we'll never be happy. Acceptance I think is the most struggling for us aging women and something that is a long journey but finding acceptance in who we are is most important and I do believe we can find acceptance while also continuing to look our best at any age. Well said my friend. As always, you look stunning! 😘
@claudiaglows

Jodylynn, I loved your comparison! You are so right, just like weight-loss or fitness means something different to all of us, so does aging gracefully. Sadly one is much more judged than the other. But as you said, if it comes from a place of self acceptance and love, it comes from the right place. If not, we will never be happy! I am really happy you are here and hope you are ok. I will be thinking of you tomorrow and will be keeping my fingers crossed tightly xx

Ah what a great decision to do Sculptra, Claudia! I am actually also thinking about it... either this or Ellanse. But my injector told me today that she treats Sculptra like a skin booster. It is funny right when so many warn us about fillers but some of us burn filler so quickly? I have had several mls done and they have definitely helped my face but I definitely think I am burning it fast and need top up..but they are exxy and maybe Sculptra may be better for over the whole face. My buccal areas and temples definitely would benefit from more filling. Can't wait to follow along your Sculptra journey and see how your face volume improves. :)

Hi Amelia, it is lovely to hear from you. My doctor mentioned Ellanse as well. It is nice since you see results right away, but she said Sculptra last longer, which I really like. I don't mind the wait and see... It is interesting to hear that you burn through filler just as fast. I do think in your case, Sculptra would also be a good choice. If you end up doing it, please keep us posted. Thank you for being here, have a wonderful day xx

@@claudiaglows Hi Claudia, yes I might try Sculptra in the near future. I met a lady who did Ellanse to her face and she had some nodule thingy which did not go away for years, very obvious on her face. So that freaked me out. She advised me to do fats transfer or HA fillers instead of Ellanse. At first I was very keen on Ellanse but now I don't think I would risk it for my face.

Wow, Claudia, this video was truly educational for me. Since I am fairly new to improving my aging skin, I am learning new things all the time. I have to say that needles and blood do not bother me, but my legs hurt as I watched the cannula procedure! I thought this was really interesting to see immediately how your cheeks may look after your body begins the natural reproduction of collagen and elastin in the treated areas. Thank you for explaining this procedure and for being so open about your "aging gracefully" journey. I look forward to experiencing this journey with you. I love your sweet spirit and calm demeanor. I'm 46years old, 47 inn Feb. and had 4 vials of Sculptra, It did work, but still a little to hollow. I am also an athlete, very lean, sunken cheeks temples. Flat mid cheeks. I didn't have a 2nd follow up with my doctor, guess he didn't think I would need more. I sent him some pictures after 6 weeks and he suggested we do another 2 vials! Seems like a lot for someone my age? 6 vials? Is my body just not producing the collagen it should? Is this normal? I'll be doing my next treatment in a month. Costing a lot, but hoping I get the results I want. My discomfort was very high, more on treatment 2 than 1! Very swollen. My face also turned very hot and red a couple of hours after! I can't believe I'm doing this again!😆 Good for you for no soreness! I was sore for a month! Massaging was rough! 🙄

Hi Monica, I had asked my doctor about this and she said that some people require as much as 6-8 vials. That is def. a lot of money! I am assuming that your body is producing the collagen it should, but because of your athletics (I have the same problem) there is such a lack of body fat, and therefor more need. I would suggest doing one vial at a time. You might not actually need 2, and I would assume the discomfort would be much less. I also took arnica, starting 5 days prior, and I wonder if it helped not having any soreness. Might be worth a try if you did not do it already. Please keep me posted xx

That looks like a good option rather than fillers for the length of time it works...2 years! Would it work for ages 60+ considering how the body at that stage might be less reactive to stimulators for collagen production? That’s probably why it’s a “wait and see” as to how much product or how many or sessions are needed. Also, can that be combined with fillers? As always, your honesty about your journey to self care and love is inspiring. Thank you for sharing!

Thank you so much for your lovely comment ❤️ I definitely think it will either if you are 60+.. I think how many vials you need depends more on how sunken in the area you want to treat is, than age. I am 52, so my natural collagen production is not the greatest anymore either ;) And yes, it can be combined with filler. There is actually a product called Elanse, which combines filler and PLLA. Sometimes I think we need to change our idea of what is considered pretty. I mention this because of the comment you made that you just want to feel pretty (or something along those lines). You were pretty before treatment and you are after. As long as you're happy that's all that truly matters regarding these decisions. However, I do feel a bit sad at times that so many of us feel the need to chase this idea of a beauty standard that is put upon us in our society as we age and the funny part is it seems us women do it to ourselves, because most men view beauty differently than we do. As a women who's about to be 54 in a couple of weeks and have had no procedures done, not even Botox, I do find it difficult sometimes staying on this path with all the procedures out there to make us look younger etc. But I decided I wanted to basically go the natural route in aging for a few reasons because I know in the end it could get exhausting otherwise. I do believe in doing things to take care of myself (which I love skincare/devices etc.) and staying the best me I can as I age. However, after seeing so many women go down the rabbit hole of chasing beauty with surgery/procedures, and in the end some looking worse than when they started, that's when I decided I'd like stay on the path I'm on. I want to make it clear that I do not judge women who do these things because I do think it's a personal choice and what makes someone happy is all that truly matters. It's great women have the options to make the decision that they want. I just want more women to know it's ok to not do these things and you're still beautiful the way you are! Sorry for the essay here, but this stemmed from that comment you made about feeling pretty, so I felt the need to address that. I want you to know you were just as beautiful before any of these things. I am happy you are happy with your results though, because again all that matters is that you're happy! All the best and Happy Holidays!!

Hi Holly, thank you for being here. Please never apologise for a long comment, or for sharing your opinion. I very much respect your opinion and agree, that most of the beauty standards we feel put upon us, are put there by us women. For me, I am trying to balance looking and feeling my best, without obsessing and exhausting myself. I have spent too many years exhausting myself already, trying to be perfect, when I was anorexic ;) But I do think, this balance is different for all of us. Personally, I do not wear makeup. Yet improving ones appearance with makeup is much more accepted, than lets say getting a bit of botox to not look angry. And of course there is a big difference in getting a bit of botox, or a bit of sculptra, and going down the rapid whole of getting one procedure after the next. I do believe that loving and excepting oneself (and the aging process) and doing a little bit of tweaking here and there can go hand it hand beautifully. But if these tweaks need to be done, to feel good about oneself, it becomes a different story. Wishing you a wonderful Holiday season xx

@@claudiaglows I'm glad my comment wasn't taken wrong or to appear I'm coming across being judgy(?) in any way, because I promise you that's not where my heart was in writing this. Overall, it just sparked something in my when you made that comment. I want women to know whatever choice they make is the right choice for them. If they choose not to do these things, that's fine and don't feel pressured. If they choose to do these things, that's also fine. Hi Claudia, thanks for sharing as much as you do. I'm curious if you have considered fat injections as opposed to fillers or sculptra and what you think the pro and cons are? I like the idea that it's not a foreign substance. I have used fillers for volume loss but I've heard maybe they won't be good for long haul, that it may travel and distort the face. I've had one bad experience with fillers - didn't do proper homework. I got a reference from my physician because I was mostly concerned about safety. She referred me to a dermatologist for the injections and she was just awful. She suggested I have my tear troughs filled and now I have a permanent bag under one of my eyes. I went in asking for cheek filler which is what I wanted but she had her own agenda. I think she just wanted the practice with under eye injections. Ladies beware!

Hi Nancy, thank you for being here! I am so sorry to hear about your bad filler experience! Thank you for sharing it with us. Can you get the filler dissolved? As far as fat injections, while I like that it is not a foreign substance, I do not like the part about crafting the fat :). I hear it is painful and can have it's own complications. It is also quite expensive, we are talking several thousands. On the other hand it is supposed to last longer, which of course would be nice. For me personally, I do not want to deal with the liposuction part, but I would happily take someone else's fat ;) (of course that is not possible) I hope you will have a wonderful weekend xx

@@claudiaglows weirdly the under eye bag seems to swell and deflate. So I worry it may be more complicated. I've seen some videos on how the filler can somehow get behind the eye and then requires a very skilled practitioner to do the procedure. In the wrong hands I fear I'd end up blind.

Hey Claudia you look amazing, I am interested to know what is the difference between sculpture and hyaluronic acid? Do you know? 🤔
@claudiaglows
@claudiaglows 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Delia, thank you so much for your kind comment. Sculptra is PLLA, which is a material used for internal, dissolvable sutures. They found that where sutures dissolved, extra collagen had built, and vola, collagen stimulators such as Sculptra were 'born" Hyaluronic Acid is a molecule we naturally have in our skin and body. HA injections fill and plumb immediately, unlike Sculptra, which takes time to work. But HA, being a molecule the body naturally makes, is also absorbed by the body somewhat quickly, which is why filler does not last as long. There are however places where sculptra can not be used, such as in the lips or under the eyes, and in those areas, HA is beneficial. I hope this helps and makes sense xx

Hi Claudia, you are so beautiful and you have this glow and warmth about you, I just love watching your videos and witnessing your journey of looking after yourself and loving yourself. I am also looking into something to plump up my cheecks a bit. I had fillers that looked really bad and then they migrated. I then had hyaluronidase to disolve them and that caused a lot of damage not only in my face, also in my body. It's been 2 years since I cannot look at myself in the mirror and I miss the person who loved her reflection. I want to do smth about it as it affects other areas of my life. I was looking either at sculptra or fat transfer. Have you considered fat transfer at all? Will keep an eye for updates about your treatment. Best of luck, sending love 😊💖

Thank you so much for your very thoughtful words! I am really happy you are here, but very sorry to hear about what happened to you! It must have been a very challenging 2 years for you. While I am certain you are still beautiful, I can understand how difficult it must be to not recognise the person in the mirror. I think this treatment, with a skilled practitioner, might be great for you. As I mentioned in the video, it was first approved for patients with HIV, who lots a tremendous amount of volume. I have thought of fat transfer, but it is much for involved than sculptra, since it requires liposuction, which is basically surgery. It is also quite expensive. The plus is that it is your own body's material, and it lasts longer. For me however, it sounds too involved and I hope I will get good results with the Sculptra. After the first treatment, there really was very little change, but that is to be expected and I think I will now, after the second treatment slowly start to see some change. I will make an update video with before and afters after my third treatment, which is at the end of February. My friend, who is doing the treatments with me, is already seeing some results after the first treatment. However, her cheeks are not as sunken in as mine, and I think she will require less sessions. Please stay in touch and let me know how you are doing. And I hope my update will be helpful Sending a big hug your way xo

Thank you so much for your kind and thoughtful reply. I am looking forward to seing your results, not long to go. You have such beautiful features, the treatments you do are only enhancing them. I will consult a plastic surgeoun to ask what would be best for me. I might have developped an autoimmune response to either fillers or hyaluronidase, so maybe for me a fat transfer would be a safer option. Until then I am looking after my skin and going to the gym, hoping with time I will see improvements. Take good care and thank you for everything you do 🙏💖🦋

Hi Claudia, Thank you so much for sharing your experience. The technique looked great except for one question please? Did you experience any granularity in your lower cheeks? The only reason I ask is because you can see the settling of product in the syringe (white solid) which all gets injected into that area, instead of it being completely dissolved in the overall volume of fluid. How has everything worked over a year later? Thank you.

Can Sculptra be used for under eye?
@claudiaglows
@claudiaglows 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Karolina, unfortunately not. Sculptra needs to go somewhat deep into the tissue, and therefor is not ideal for the eye area. I have seen people use PRP or PRF for under the eyes though, so you might want to look into that xo

Hi Denise, that is a lot of money! I would think it only covers one vial. Here in Paris it is 600 euro per vial, which is already a lot. I was answering your earlier comment on what would be better, micro needling or this, but I did not know you had lost volume in the face as well. For that, unfortunately micro needling does nothing. But it is amazing for collagen production in the skin. However, if you are worried about volume loss, than this treatment might make more sense, but you can still do your micro needling combined with it. Please keep us posted xx

@@claudiaglows When we keep things from our spouse, is when we begin to practice deception that eats away at us. If they did that to us, how would we feel?????? :(
@claudiaglows
@claudiaglows 2 жыл бұрын
Valentina, you’re right. We should never deceive our partners, nor anyone else for that matter. I was actually joking when I said I will tell my husband these things on a need to know basis. We have the same bank account, so he always knows :-). However deceiving, and not volunteering information are quite a bit different. I would of course feel horrible, if my partner purposefully deceived me. But, relationships differ, and the way couples deal with finances differ as well. So if a woman works hard, to earn her own money, I don’t think she needs to justify what she spends it on.
