I applaud Dominique for sharing her journey with us and find it so refreshing to have a beautiful, smart and informed woman show us the options that are available. The pressure for women to remain employable and look youthful is enormous, particularly in the media or film. Dominique still very much looks like Dominique because she chooses reputable professionals and takes care of herself. Ladies - let's continue to lift each other up and not buy into the multitude of myths or beliefs that only serve to divide and unsettle us. I am 57 and have been using injectables for over 10 years now. I've never smoked, rarely drink and after many years, am at a healthy weight. I choose to colour my hair and get my nails done. I wear makeup, earrings and perfume because I like how these things make me feel.

I love sculptra! I just turned 40, and I started having this treatment about 10 months ago. I have had 3 treatments. I am very athletic and have always had a square jaw, slim face. Over time I started looking extremely tired and hollow around the eyes and temples. Not anymore!!!! It’s truly amazing. It is a hurry up and wait treatment. Be patient, it does take time. But with diet and correct supplements, there will be no stopping you!!!

@@estefaniaboujon6830 Everyones placement is a bit different. However the same zones are injected, Example your dr may start in a different area, adding more or less depending on your personal goal. My doctor started with my temples, and under eyes, and cheeks, then lastly mid face, I end up needing more in my mid and mouth area.

Sculptra is wonderful and MUCH better than fillers. It uses your own body to produce collagen, is natural, and is placed along the bone. I will never do fillers again. Only some botox. It took me three years to do Sculptra because I was so SCARED! I don't know why, but I was. Do it ladies. Especially if you are thin!

I love these type of informative, skin treatments, because we know that this is how some celebs stay looking good. Some are honest about it, and others secretive, but now we know it's treatments like these, laser facials, botox, etc. They're options we can seek out if we want to or not. It can be expensive, but at least this looks natural. :)

As a physician I don’t recommend this procedure. After having to remove these nodules, from my patients’ face, from getting Sculptra, I don’t recommend this particular procedure. Most people are completely unheeding or nonplussed that they may or have nodules under their skin from Sculptra, until you hey experience a bump under their skin or when they have other issues. I’ve removed too many, from so many patients who range in age that did everything they should have and still gained those nodules under their skin. After much research, personally, I don’t recommend or think of as an option. But people will do the craziest treatments, sometimes at any cost, despite what a professional informs them- all because they want to clench to their youth.

Thank you for this video. I am 75 and I wear makeup every day because it makes me feel better. I don't even leave the house lots of days but I wear it for my own satisfaction. I have always looked about 20 years younger than I am but lately see lots of wrinkles and sagging. I have had so many people accuse me of having work done but I have not. I just have good genes and have taken care of myself. I am considering doing this if I can find a reputable place nearby. I appreciate you telling us the cost. I am not anti procedures...I've had botox myself in the past.....and compared to fillers which I dislike, this sounds a good option, but eventually we all have to accept aging...I honestly think that women 'look' like they've had work done after a while and it isn't that flattering. I think the health and vitality in the skin and clear eyes, is important but wrinkles we are all going to get them and who wants a line free face if we are lucky enough like my mother to get to 94 and who looks great, has a few lines ,but had nothing done ever, So I suppose I am saying, it is important we become less self obsessed as we age, for some it is a relief to lose their youthful beauty and concentrate on so many other important things. I mean you can't treat your whole body so you may have a smoother face but your elbows, knees and skin all over will age....so we will start to look just oddly crazy!! That being said I lecture on anti-aging and have courses in my Academy...so I am all about the hormetic effect and things you can do to look as good as we can for as long as possible.

I agree. At a certain point women and men begin to look odd after having procedures done. Usually around the eyes but especially the mouth. My mother had a face lift in her 40’s maybe it was her 50’s looked fine into her 80’s. I look in the mirror now and don’t always recognize the person looking back but I am in my 60’s now, prefer to spend my money on my home and living in it for as long as I can. Go cautiously and know when to stop.

The lighting in the before and after is so very interesting. And the fact remains Dominique that you look sad, as if you have been crying. A lot. You are a lovely lady. I think she is deep=down sad. like she has failed at life or something. I wish, Dominique that you wouldn't think that. You're just in the midst of a big change. I think, and I've said before. you are a lot nicer now, and a lot more accepting of others and a bit gentler on them, attitudinally. I believe you needed to learn that hard lesson, possibly the hard way. Don't dwell on it though. Maybe change your environment? I know you've always been there, but I think that's part of the problem. Take a real break, for a year or longer, go somewhere different, travel or live in another country, stop doing the videos, and then come back. You'll have changed and that will feel much better. What bothers you now will have moved back in your experience, the lesson not lost though, and life will take on a different shape.

I had 3 treatments of sculptra. My last one was end of march. I am about to be 64. I was hoping to see more lifting but I still do not regret it. My doctor (and all I have read )said to massage for 5min-5 times a day for 5 days. I did it because I am so paranoid of getting those nodules. I also read they can show up years later? I would do it again.

I knew I wanted to do something but really didn't want to get caught in that cycle of having fillers (been there done that in my 40s) & going under the knife wasn't particularly appealing, what other choice was there, thread lifts? So glad I waited. Sculptra seems to be the better option as it is less invasive, lasts much longer than I thought & as was .pointed out it ends up being cheaper than fillers (not to mention the time/energy saved not having run to additional doctor's appts.) Knowing this is a very natural substance that just facilitates your own body's production of collagen is the other advantage. Seeing you (you're such a good sport about such things) was just the nudge I needed. Your doctor was wonderful, so thorough in explaining everything step-by-step from beginning to end which has served to build my confidence going forward. So I want to thank both of you ladies for a job well done!

I would not judge anyone who has anything done to their face or other body parts to make them feel better about how they look in the mirror. It is not something I could do even if I wanted. I say this without wanting to sound nasty or rude, but Dominique is fortunate that she is able to get the treatments she wants because I do not think she is in the same financial boat as many of us are. I basically live on my social security, which can be a struggle. That being said, I do not think I would have any procedures, despite looking in the mirror on occasion and pulling the skin around my jowls back ever so slightly and thinking...well that looks much better..lol. IF I had the financial means, I know me - I would get one procedure done and then look at another part if my body and waNt that "fixed", and so on. I will be 70 in December. Do i like the hooded eyes, jowls and creepy neck? Nope, but it's me, and I'm gonna just accept and like me!

Be careful, Another surgeon stated the collagen will produce uneven, creating lumps when it reproduces the collagen., not like your own natural collagen. There is no way to dissolve the collagen once it produces lumps, sort of difformative . Do your research before undergoing.

When doing Sculptra don't forget to inject the whole face around the frame of the face and the jawline. This will create a more natural balanced look. Otherwise you will have full cheeks and a soft saggy jawline and thinned out sides on the frame of your face. Also don't forget to inject above the eyebrows. Most doctors don't like to inject forehead because of the fear of lumps. Just massage it and it will be fine

I don’t feel like there is deception. , more like info, she really goes into a great amount detail,Step by step. Plus she has a volunteer, sign me up ! Lights ,shadows, etc…. ,this doctor comes on to give different options. I had never hear of such. I am 60 and have never done anything. I believe what you eat is what really makes the true difference. Love this doctor.

I feel this because she warmed up the Sculptra prior to injecting. That's one of those tiny things you do when you're an expert at something and you CARE about your patients. Thank you for including the cost too! That's always my first question...lol Did you discuss how the diet can help with collagen formation/destruction? Sugar competes with vitamin C in the system and vitamin C is essential for collagen formation. Does the Dr recommend avoiding sugar and taking a collagen supplement as well? Thank you again!!! Has this product changed? I’ve had sculptra put in my face many years ago when it first came out and I loved the results! However 6 or 7 months later I developed terrible granulomas…which had to be dissolved …. Not a good experience…. I wonder if it was the doctor not knowing how to use the product or whether I couldn’t tolerate it??

The product hasn't changed, the application of the product and 'discharge' instructions have changed. You need a very experienced injector.

The product is still the same. It's the dilutions. The more saline it's diluted with, the less chance of nodules. Plus massaging it for 5 minutes, 5 times a day, for the first five days is crucial to help prevent future problems. I was surprised about placing it in the under eye area, I've always heard from doctors that it's a big no no.

It is unfortunate but when we put ourselves out there to try and inform and educate people, there will always be some that have to criticize…there are many women and men who will be glad they saw this because Dr. Nigro is a gem and so are you! Some are afraid to do it and this will assure them that it is not harmful to do it. Education is never wrong! I think the results would be great after Sculptra. Lighting is different in before and after but still you can see the results of the procedure better on the doctor friend’s face (21:54 of the video) Dominique looks lovely as always and I wish her well! The issue for me is the cost of such procedures. Regular visits to the dermatologist for consultations and check ups are not cheap + treatments.. not everyone can afford it. But I wish well to those who does experiment 🤩

I’ve known about Sculptra for a very long time and even looked into it at one point. I remember it was expensive and in all the before and afters I saw, the afters all looked like they had puffy or rounded faces. I figured I had a round enough face as it is, I don’t need my temples and everything else filled. That was at least a decade ago, so it will be interesting to see how it works for you.

I tried this but the practitioner stopped the treatment after two procedures (there's three in one cycle). She said it wasn't working for me. I thought it was because of my age but she said that wasn't it. Sometimes it just doesn't work for people. An expensive and painful experiment...

I think they do recommend Sculptra for older women , but I know friends who had NO visible improvements whatsoever . Both were v disappointed they hadn’t been given more genuine advice as it’s a product that has been around for many, many years and one which fell out of favour for a long time . Both were in their 50’s and neither had tried any fillers beforehand . Buyer beware ...thus Dr didn’t talk about any of that .

Love the confidence of this doctor although she’s very rough in her delivery. You bruised a LOT more than I did and looking at her speed of injection I can see why. My doctor moves very slowly, gently and methodically with the needle while slowly pulling it out after getting to the right spot and I have never bruised much at all. Perhaps she can learn to slow down. She’s a great doctor just needs to work on her delivery. It’s unnecessary to bruise that much with Sculptra!

What if we all just said no to all these expensive procedures and didn’t try to compete with young women? I have had 3 Sculptra treatments on face and 2 on neck with great noticeable results! My doctor uses a cannula so there are fewer entry points, I have never gotten any bruises. I was also recommended 5 minute massages, 5 times a day for 5 days (just as Sculptra’s websites suggests) I am 50 years old and friends have noticed how glowy and firm my skin looks. Very happy with it!

Wow!!! I've never heard about these treatments. I'm blown away!!! I've been thin all throughout my life, and was even bullied in school, because of it. That was decades ago now, however, those hurtful memories don't just go away. The "s" word, is as hurtful as the"f" word, for women who may be on the opposite end of the spectrum. I have read many of the comments but fail to find the ones that are negative, the ones some commenters reference when they admonish the negative comments. Maybe I haven't dug deep enough. I'm in favor of a safe space to discuss things, people can disagree and I think that helps overall, when there is difference of opinion. Aging and what we do or don't do about it is a sensitive topic for sure. Let's all try to listen to each other and not muzzle anyone who disagrees with us.
