Maybe instead of doing a full "Top 10 vocalists of the whole of Kpop" (or before if you'd like, just to test the waters) you could make a video with your top 10 favorite tones or singing styles. Making it your favorite makes it more acceptably subjective I would suppose. I know that you have said that you prefer unique and interesting tones over perfect techniques sometimes and it would be really cool to hear you explain what about their voices makes them stand out to you. (I also have the selfish motive of hopefully hearing some really cool vocals from your favorites because I always enjoy the vocal demonstration clips.) Its just a thought, but I think it could be a nice compromise. I also think it would be interesting if you ever wanted to rank groups outside of Kpop. There have been a lot of bands and groups that it would be interesting to hear your opinions on (ex. One Direction, Pentatonix, solo artists, etc.) It is just a thought, no hurry though because I enjoy Kpop groups more anyway :)

Thanks for answering my question😊. I had the same people on my mind. So hyang and dimash are two of a few singers i know of who can belt in the sixth octave. And both have extremely well developed headvoices. And their lownotes are also very good. I can see almost no flaw in their voice or even not a single one. Wish they'd get proper promotion in the western world.

Casual thoughts I had while watching this video: Loved your toy story notebook. Your D.O. impression is on point. I´m from Latin America and I also really like your accent, I had a couple of British teachers back in high school and I always liked the way they spoke. Yes, Jongho is probably the best 4th vocal atm, I love his voice so much. Yeah, fan wars may be an issue if you do overall rankings but from what I´ve seen on your videos comments most of your subscribers are pretty chill people, you calling yourself a soft boy is a whole mood haha. My favorite rapper/singer is Jisung too, you should check out his king of masked singer performance if you haven´t yet, truly amazing. I don´t think you´d ever have to put an end on your ranking series because so many groups debut each year, you have endless content hahaha. I choose bias based on the personalities too mostly, though voices and visuals are a definitely heavy first impression and at least 90% of the time they stay as my bias, sometimes when I get more into a group the 'whole package' as you called it changes it and my bias ends not being the one that caught my attention as first impression. I love your accent and this is a secret but, I'm actually from a small irrelevant country in South America so my main language is actually spanish not english, but I'm guilty of enjoying your videos mostly for 3 reasons, one: the rankings and the explanation of each voice, I learn the reasons and somehow it helps me understand why I feel some way with a particular voice, mostly agree with you too, so even better, two: I love how you do things, you do research and enjoy it, but sometimes you enjoy it so so much that it feels so fluffy and soft and warm and makes me proud that a non fan appreciates and recognizes some of my beloved artists

On generations thing, it's pretty easy for 1st, 2nd and 3rd gens. It was devided by SM boy goups: the last ones from the 1st gen are TVXQ in 2004 and 2nd gen started with Super Junior in 2005 then 3rd gen started with EXO in 2012. For 4th gen you can count groups from 2018 and so on.

Just saw the 2 Q&A vids while I'm here at home lying sick and lmao the metalcore/deathcore caught me off guard (but not in the way you think). I'm not into 'core' music myself but I've been a fan of extreme music ever since I was 12 (I'm in my late 20s now) and I love prog death/melo death/doom metal and other metal variations! I think kpop is kind of the antithesis of it and I like variety in my music, esp. depending on my mood hehehe. I've been into kpop for eight years now and my advice is: don't fret. The fans are immature, even the older ones, so you WILL piss someone off eventually, and you shouldn't mind it bc they're not worth it. Do whatever you want, keep being respectful but don't feel like you have to refrain from saying your truth and sharing your knowledge. Also: kpop twitter is the worst place on the internet, so try to keep personal info private! I have a lil suggestion for the far future: maybe a vid on how vocals have changed from the 2nd and early 3rd gen to late 3rd gen and 4th gen. I think it's an interesting topic! It's sad how untrained new kpop vocalists are. And I'm gonna disagree with you about Jongho (heheh don't kill me) bc I find him quite shouty and unreliable but maybe I haven't seen enough from him. I think Kim Jaehwan (ex-Wanna One) is easily the best idol vocalist that debuted post-2016 (he surprised me a lot with his gorgeous lower register in his masked singer performances) but now he's a solo artist and IDEK if what he's doing can be considered idol music anymore. Anyways, since I've touched the topic, I suggest a Wanna One analysis. They were huge in 2017-2018.

To be honest, I didn't even consider wanna one when it came to the 4th gen vocals question. Yeah that guys voice is insane. Jonhgo is a weird one. You will get a group of people who say he is shouty and all that, and then people like myself that says he actually uses his voice really rather efficiently, but I understand how he isn't to everyone taste. But I am personally super impressed by him. And as for that video idea, I would for sure want to look into something like that, might do it as a project in the background while I'm back at work.

I watched your Ateez analysis but I just can't hear what you hear, I feel like he pushes his voice out and I feel like he doesn't create space on enough the back of his mouth when singing high, but tbh Idk if my opinion is very valid bc I'm a classical singer and belting is still kind of a mystery to me.
