LMAOOOOO your rant about ONEUS was such mood. Honestly, I felt the same when I heard Valkyrie. I knew about them pre-debut because I love Mamamoo and since they're from the same company I saw a lot of people on Twitter talking about them. At that time, though, I was like "nah, I don't wanna get attached to them and then be disappointed by their music once they debut" but once they actually debuted I fell in love instantly. I don't think I was ever THAT impressed with a debut and every comeback so far just made me fall in love even more to the point where I now consider them one of my favourite groups. Literally everything they put out is exactly my taste, it's crazy. They deserve much more love, indeed, but for now I'm just happy to see that their success is growing little by little each time they come back. I'm sure they'll get big one day, because they're super talented and likable.

Hearing you talk about ATEEZ is so funny because I relate so much. When they first debuted I heard pirate king and went "ugh another one of THOSE type of songs I'm sick of these" and later listened to say my name, thought the same thing, and ignored that group fully. Then for some reason I decided to watch their performance for mama with inception and answer and I was like damn that wasn't too bad actually. Decided to watch the mvs for it and my mind was blown... I was just reminiscing how I loved when sf9 came out with easy love and I was so happy that groups still did that old school bg sound, and for some reason I haven't been seeing it lately. Turns out ateez was right there with inception LMAO and then I decided to give them a chance and listened to all their songs, but I truly fell in love with them when watching them perform those songs. Ended up loving all of their title tracks even though I swore I'd hate them (maybe it's Stockholm syndrome) and now im obsessed I can't wait till the next comeback

female vocalists in the 4th gen that have impressed me are yechan (pinkfantasy) and monday (weeekly), they’re around seohyun/jessica’s level, then there’s jungwoo (bvndit), denise (secret number) and jiwon (fromis_9) they’re around jihyo/seulgi’s level they’re pretty good too, jiwon gets really chesty though sometimes she’ll strain on B4. for male idols, chan (a.c.e) is pretty good he’s around changsub/jinho’s level but I’m not sure if he’s 4th gen. then there’s keeho (p1harmony), keonhee and seoho (oneus), woobin (cravity), and like you mentioned, jongho from ateez, they’re all around youngjae/kihyun’s level. jongho’s support seems slightly more developed than the rest, among the tenors listed he’s the only one to consistently support G4 (and some good moments on G#4 too)

If you’re looking for a male soloist, I’d recommend Jung Dongha. He used to be a rock singer but he went solo and now does a lot of ballads and a lot of covers of songs. He’s a frequent contender on Immortal Song and he’s considered, as far as I am aware, as the overall best male vocalist in Korea. His cover of ‘I’ll miss you’ is insane!

I just really really love how passionate you talk about kpop. And yes yes yes about oneus their sound is just so mesmerizing! My top 6 (because i couldn't decide) comebacks of 2020, the album also plays in this rank -so what by loona (the title track is really great but in general the album hast the best b-sides this year in my opinion) -left & right by seventeen (the fun sound and choreography kind of brought their old sound back which i really love and also so b-sides are just sooo good, a perfect album) -back door by stray kids (i thaught they couldn't top god's menue but for me they did and the album contains awesome songs aswell) -mago by gfriend (the is just totally my taste and the howl concept and styling is just cool and retro and their album is great aswell with wheel of the year being one of my favorite songs this year.) -Fiesta by izone (album of the year for me, here it is really about the side tracks. Valkyrie is among the best debut songs ever, I totally understand that feeling with oneus haha. My favorite song of theirs is Zigzag and it was even my most listened song of 2020!! AGREED DOYOUNG HAS THE PRETTIEST VOICE, IT IS UNBELIEVABLE Jongho is truly on the path of reaching Chen level top tier, I 100% agree. For soloists I would recommend Woodz and Kang Daniel!!! First of all, I LOVE hearing you speak. I usually get tired of hearing other peoples voices for a long period of time but I don't get tired of yours :) Yes, you are very chatty, but you're concise and purposeful with your words. ANYWAY, I'm so happy you mentioned Brendon Urie again - I feel not a lot of people know who he is unless you mention Panic! but his voice just can't be missed. The soloists I listen to the most are Taemin and WOODZ but I would like to also recommend SF9. They’re a great group, mostly underrated in the west, and I really like their music. Their vocal line is also really good (Rowoon is one of my favorite vocalist in K-pop, his voice reminds me of Tae but lighter in a way) so I think you’ll enjoy them.

SUBSCRIBED!! Hello. I just discovered your channel and I love your in-depth analysis of all these k-pop singers, especially EXO'S D.O. I looked through your videos and didn't see any reviews of k-pop bands and only reviews of k-pop groups. Are you familiar with a k-pop rock band called FT Island? These guys debuted in 2007 and play all their own instruments. The lead singer, Hongki, has one of the MOST recognizable voices in k-pop. He was on Masked Singer twice and everyone knew it was him immediately both times. LOL Despite debuting in 2007, Hong Ki is only 30 years old. Hongki was serving in the military with EXO'S Kyung Soo. He's quite the character: headstrong, independent, talented, outspoken, mischievous, etc. He was discovered by FNC (agency) as a child actor but chose to instead become a singer. FNC Entertainment was pretty much built by FT Island. Similar to the way Big Hit was built by BTS except FNC houses actors and tv personalities as well now. FNC is considered one of the top 5 agencies in Korea and specializes more in k-pop bands when it comes to music. I'd rather not describe his voice so you can hear it for yourself. Honestly, I have yet to find anyone who doesn't love his voice. His voice is always full of emotion. When he was young, FT Island had a performance where Hongki was quite sick so his singing was completely off key. It was pretty bad and made all the news at the time. LOL Since that incident, he has strived to eat CDs. i'm never able to rank things, i don't think i'd be able to pin down any top 5, so i'll just make a large word salad describing my kpop 2020 ✨experience✨. nct, superm, taemin, red velvet and golden child come to mind. i loved everything they all made last year. mcnd and weeekly started of their careers really well, great music from both of them. in general i enjoyed bgs more than ggs compared to previous years. the boyz, kard, verivery and pentagon surprized me, i wasn't too into them before, but in 2020 they attacked me. i think the song i listened to most last year was verivery thunder. cix and weki meki also made some really cool stuff in 2020. skz, loona, chungha and seventeen are pretty much my favorite idols, but everything they released in 2020 was kinda whatever for me. i love twice as well, but i didn't enjoy them as much as i thought i would going into the year. sorry this comment is so long, hopefully it's not too difficult to read and follow along with.

I apologise for this silly question. I was just curious. Does having a naturally very deep, heavy and thick voice with proper support and resonance equates to having a full voice? While having a naturally very squeaky, light, thin and cute voice with full support and resonance but not nasal, weak, and whiny doesn't equate to a full voice? I sometimes observe that some people subconsciously imply to other people that having a deep voice equates to having a "full" and strong voice, while light voices are weak and not full?
