I just would like to also add that I highly recommend always reaching out to the mockup seller if you have a discrepancy over the color of the product. :) Speaking for my shop personally, since I have access to the original raw files, I am able to easily go in and tweak any images if need be and I'm always happy to assist. For designs specific to a niche I try to keep them in one continuous file in Canva (multiple pages in one design file vs folders). Same with mockups, I keep all of my Gildan 18000 together, Comfort Colors together, along with the corresponding sizing charts, etc in Canva - that way when I need them I simply duplicate the file, remove the colors I don’t need, and it’s ready for design placement. Love this info so much, Mandy! Color is one of my fave topics (the bright blue mockup at the beginning is mine! 💕) and it’s something that is really impacted by surroundings - something as simple as an indoor white background v an outdoor background can make a huge difference in the final colors of a photo. One thing to keep in mind with matching the shirts to the swatches - if you’re trying to match the color exactly to the swatch, I’d recommend calibrating your computer screen with a professional color calibration software. That way, you’ll be able to get a really close match that will (hopefully) keep the aesthetic of the mockup but get the color really fine tuned, too. Love your advice on this so much! It’s a great topic!

You are so wright. I have purchased Kittl Pro for the year and have started making designs so I will have some to post once I get my tax ID# and set my Esty account. I do have a question on mock ups. In Kittl if you select POD Presets, Pritify t-shirt, add your design to a mock up, you have to stretch it out to fit as I see you and others doing. Is this just for the mock picture? Thanks so much Mandy, great info. Unfortunately none of the suppliers ship their catalogues to Europe where I'm from. So I at least downloaded the digital catalogues. If you ever looked at them and compared them to the "real life" catalogues, would you say their colors are more or less acurate (of course keeping in mind that every computer screen is a bit different)? Oh darn, bummer! That’s good to know though. The online ones are pretty accurate, the biggest thing to keep in mind is that colors will be slightly muted in real life when it’s on fabric. But otherwise the tones still make a good reference 😊

Hi Mandy, I am new to your channel, and relatively new to Etsy. I have been so worried about the recent issues with mockups and Etsy closing stores. So, I have been trying to use the printer’s mockups, and just embellish them with different backgrounds. I love your ideas, though. This will enable me to fix any problems that I find with other mockups. When you did the side-by-side comparison of the terra cotta t-shirt, I noticed that the original looked like everything in the photo was too orange, not just the t-shirt. Even the background looked off. I am guessing that they took the photo in warm lighting. The white balance was off. If you knew what items in the mockup are supposed to be white, and then used that as your gauge, that would help, too. I am looking forward to ordering my samples. There is no place to order a catalog from Gilda’s, only comfort colors. When i get too the marketing tools page, they only have a download or view e-guide buttons. Farther down is an access button but its only view only. Please show me where the order page is. Thank you.

If you’re selling on Etsy then generally no, especially for apparel. That first listing image on Etsy is what stops the scroll for your customer. It needs to be a high quality mockup and the ones coming from providers don’t convert as well. That being said, if your products are something other than apparel then it can be a little more challenging to find good ones, so sometimes you just have to do what you can with it 😊

Hello. I had a problem with a mock-up recently. I sell posters, put them on Printify and then on Etsy. I offered different sizes but had to cut the picture a little to match some of them. My main mock-up was of a full picture, but there were more photos where it was seen that in some sizes the picture is shortened. And it was stated in the description, that if you order a proportion other than 2:3, it will be a little cut off. Nevertheless this lady got her posters and immediately requested a refund, as the product wasn't what she ordered, because "a part of the picture was cut off". I didn't accept her request, showing her the arguments that she got exactly what she ordered. After that she gave me a 1* review and made a case on Etsy against me. Once more I showed in that case, that the product was exactly what she ordered. Etsy gave her a refund and didn't take money from me. But I am left with the 1* review (it's my seventh. Great that she didn't review all 4 of the posters). Do you think I can do anything to get rid of this opinion?
