I get it, I would be inclined to answer (not as an art director, just as a human) if I received such a unique and engaging email as well. Really lets your personality shine through! Thanks for sharing it, it definitely makes me see how "generic" it can come across when you try to write in a professional tone. Of course this is professional as well, but you inject a little more life and spark, which is so reflective of being an artist. :) Thanks for the inspiration, you have opened my eyes to be "more me" when I write!

This was a fantastic insight into the sort of business world of art. I think a lot of the time people send very cold, upfront emails because that's what they view as professional, and I, until five minutes and twenty-three seconds ago, thought the same. I didn't realise that you can have more fun in communicating with people and businesses like this and still have people take you seriously, but it's clear that people do, and I think that's great. When I get there I will definitely be keeping these tips in mind!

Hello loves! Just wanted to give a quick disclaimer here. :) All the advice I'm giving is MY personal way of writing, and though it's worked well for me, you might feel that it's not right for you. THAT'S OK! If you don't think something about this will work for the company you want to approach, then don't do it! Do what feels right to you and take my advice as just one more perspective. Love ya! :)

Some great advice. Your advice makes the email not stiff and unfriendly. As someone who has interviewed people in the past, being your self and original helps to catch a persons eye. Cookie cutter answers and attitudes become tired.

Oh wow! What did you interview people for? :D It's so true, a lot of people feel very restricted in what they can do with resumes, emails, etc. There might be a "type" of way to do it in the business world, but we need to remember we're in the creative world! There's a bit more freedom

Very nice video Gaby!!! I learned some tricks from your video. Side question, do you suggest doing free art in the beginning to get your art work in the world? Or no FREE ART? thank you!

if you're going to do free art, try making some samples for yourself to see exactly how much work you'd like to do for free. that way you can set boundaries! you should absolutely be rooting for paid work, always. don't give away your talents!

Too annoying, too sugary, low tier portfolio. No reasons to trust your advices. All video can be shrinked to phrase: «Be a nice person, think about someone, who will read ur e-mail and why do they need you.»
