If you have sensitive skin, you should try 0.1% retinol. VI term has retinoid serum that is 0.1%. Once you can tolerate that, you can start using 0.5%, and then once your skin can tolerate that, start using 1%. It's a gradual process. I had to start off with 0.1% and my skin was always flaking. My skin became used to it, and now it doesn't flake at all. I am now using 1% retinol and my skin looks AMAZING

thanks for sharing your secret Korean skincare tips for achieving real Glass skin this is truly a gem, and it takes me back to the transformative teachings of my life coach, Lisa Haisha, during a soul-enriching retreat in the Philippines. She often emphasized the connection between self-care rituals and the radiance that stems from within. Your dedication to skincare echoes the principles she shares in 'The Soul Blazing.' Both you and Lisa inspire me to nurture not only my skin but also my inner self, creating a radiant glow that goes beyond the surface.

If you’re new to retinol, please start with only using it 1-2x per week and then slowly increase your usage over time. Your skin can become very dry and can also “purge,” so if you jump in with too much, too soon, you can really mess up your skin barrier. ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS use sunscreen during the day as retinol does increase your overall risk of sun damage, which is why you should only use it at night. Make sure you are starting with a low concentration of retinol, something like 0.25 for sensitive skin and 0.5 for non-sensitive skin types. If you do have sensitive skin or are worried about it, I suggest using the sandwich method for the first several weeks in order to help your skin adjust. All you do is “sandwich” the retinol between two layers of other products. Often, a lightweight moisturizer or even a thick essence. It slows the absorption of the retinol, and helps your skin adjust to the retinol. So when I started out, because I have very sensitive skin, I double cleansed then went in with an essence and a soothing serum, then a very thin and lightweight layer of moisturizer, followed by the retinol, and another layer of moisturizer after that. If you’re not extremely sensitive, you can skin the extra soothing products or use them and skip the first layer of moisturizer. You should experiment with the layers and figure out what works for you. Don’t freak out if your skin purges as things will get worse before they get better! Also, don’t use retinol on really wet skin, and the hydration will help the retinol penetrate deeper into the skin layers and can be irritating when you first start out. Good luck babes! 💕

hi! i just want to ask, how about moisturiser? do you skip the moisturiser? if you don’t, which one did you use? im asking since I have dry skin😅
@krystallee Жыл бұрын
I prefer to use cream instead of moisturizer these days :) It's usually thicker & a bit more hydrating~

Hi, thanks for sharing. What’s your skin type? It might not work for oily acne prone skin since teenage years like me.
@krystallee Жыл бұрын
Mine's dry. Their products are non greasy so it should work for most skin types!

Everyone skin is different. I use retinol amd my skin burns like crazy and it stripped my skins and gave hives, but sometimes it does not. Having healthy skin also require better sleep schedule and heqlthy diet

Be sure you're using a gentle form of retinol. You can put a thin layer of a thick moisturizer (I use snail mucin) on & then apply the retinol. Also be sure that you aren't using too much product when applying the retinol. I have super sensitive skin as well, not fun... Definitely do NOT use it if it gives you hives. That is an allergic reaction, your skin WILL NOT get used to that!! Look at The Ordinary's "Granactive Retinol 2%" it's a super gentle formula but I still apply cream first. You can calm your skin by applying HONEY on clean skin & rubbing it in some (so it's not dripping off) & leaving it on 5min to an hour. RINSE only with luke warm water, it will not be sticky but it will calm your skin. Rice water is also very calming/hydrating, I would apply that after the honey mask. Maybe take some allergy medicine to get your allergic response under control for a few days.

Hello ! I'm just wondering what is the age suitable to use retinol and do I need to wear the retinol serum at night or can I wear it outside with sunscreen on ? Would that make my face irritate ? And one more question can I put moisturizer on my eye because I keep getting eye infection so I wanna know if that was the cause
@krystallee Жыл бұрын
I would say early-mid 20s~ so no need to rush :) you should apply it at night and avoid using it in the morning. In fact, I cleanse it really well the next morning and put on lots of sunscreen before going outside! It can be irritating if you have really sensitive skin, so make sure to choose products with very small retinol percentage & test on your hands before putting it on your face!
