Love how you tackled one of the often overlooked parts of wearing a helmet, airflow. Most people do not realize how stale and warm the air gets. Great prework on that.
@WhitespaceProps2 ай бұрын
I've worn a helmet myself and felt like dying. I'm not to sure about this, but I think I'd get an averse reaction from Nerdforge if I caused Martinas death...

@WhitespaceProps and her many fans. Not sure if she had the fan running when they did the reveal with Tabletop, but she said she was so hot. Great work on the helmet btw. Top notch.
@WhitespaceProps2 ай бұрын
I think the cosplay would be hot, fan or not. It's a very closed and tight suit
@Lizlodude2 ай бұрын
My first thought seeing you comment on opening up the top section was that it's really similar to the vent design on my motorcycle helmet, just with a fan since you're not moving that fast (I hope) with this particular helmet. Amazing how much of a difference even a little bit of airflow can make.
@WhitespaceProps2 ай бұрын
I haven't check how fast Martina has traveled with this but it would direct air very well inside the helmet is my guess :D
@womblissimo66662 ай бұрын
Was watching Nerdforge and had to come see the guy that built the helmet - amazing!! I love the fact you could have bombed it out using the original model, but took the time to make air vents, fans, have it snap together with magnets and all the multitude of sanding and sanding and sanding again. Truly excellent job from someone who clearly takes the time to do things right. Absolute craftsman - well done, mate.

Greetings from Northern Ireland. So I came here because of the helmet you made for @NerdForge. I’m amazed by your use of technology. I know you edited the process but it is so much faster than having to make moulds first. Well it seems faster to make a CAD model than a silicone one anyway. The final products are marvellous but I like seeing behind the curtain so to speak - what actually has to be done to create these fantastic items. I look forward to seeing what you come up with next.
@WhitespaceProps2 ай бұрын
Making a mold make every subsequent helmet a lot faster, but all helmets I make are made to fit the buyer so molds would be used once, and that isn't efficient at all

Excellent work. The only suggestion I could make for a sequel is to hinge the pieces that open up with some sort of snapping compliant mechanism so the helmet could be in one piece and just use magnets where they meet. That would make it less likely that you might lose a piece at a convention.

I have not yet seen the final from Nerdforge but this popped up in my feed and I have a (little more than) passing interest in cosplay and props... (just a little, HONEST! ) Anyway, many props to you for doing an excellent job on the overall with the finish and detail, and many more props for taking into account the bane of many cosplayer projects... ease of use as well as airflow and comfort!! So many get caught up in only the look and forget to realize that these things can be on for HOURS and get quite uncomfortable if one becomes a sweaty mess underneath and I have seen fine pieces get damaged in the mad rush to get the darn thing off! Excellent use of magnets and accessibility for getting it together and the forethought of adding sufficient (fingers crossed) air movement to keep it reasonably comfortable while stomping around a convention and taking pictures! Double thumbs up for showing the attention to detail, the tedium, and the often overlooked errors and corrections that creep into many projects. You handled them well and maintained an inspirational feel throughout! Great job!
