Randy, by passing your tag end of the line through the bottom side of the hook, your hook will be upside down. I pass my tag end through the top so that the hook will be upright.
@randyblaukatintuitive3 жыл бұрын
I’ve done both and seem to get the same hookup ratio

It's amazing how a different perspective can alter your way of thinking. I've never fished a dropshot shallow. I couldn't tell you why I haven't, but a dropshot in or around a bed makes sense. Thanks again for solid information Randy.

Great tips! Another benefit to hooking the bait like you showed is that it helps cut down on twisting. When you hook the bait up through the middle of the nose without punching it all the way out the other side it falls more naturally instead of helicoptering. Probably not a huge concern when fishing shallow but it's something I learned when I first started to drop shot so just thought I'd mention it.

Great info as always and thanks for sharing your knowledge with us as you do. I have had great luck using the Creme 4” Scoundrel worm as a finesse/drop shot bait. I also fish them weightless and tied with a rig that gives them a slow corkscrew action using a slow stop and go retrieve. It was the ticket in the gravel pit ponds I fished many years ago.
3 жыл бұрын
After you cut the edges off the head of the worm wave a lighter flame under it to melt it nice & smooth (if you care about that much detail.)

Man I have worked so hard to not cause that fray on the tag end of the drop shot, I have it perfect now but if mine curls the way yours does I cut it off. My bass here in Az are so line shy here that I have to pay attention to the smallest details. That drives me nuts seeing your tag line curled up like that lol.
