Summary of vid: It's all about active recall. Subjects are divided into two parts of grading; grading by tests (math, physics, etc) or grading by homework and essays (English, History). Math --> Watch the organic chemistry tutor, effective learning channel for both math and science. Math is all about doing exercise problems a lot. Science --> Understanding the full and bigger concept using Feyman technique (explaining concept in simpler terms and create analogies) Everything for memorization --> Quizlet Use your time wisely and study during class time. - Shouldn't get less than an A on homework based subjects, unlimited time - Read the actual book of the subject - Do the assignments early, and ask for feedback early. Creates an connection between your work and your teacher. For motivation, use your competitiveness. Compare what your doing to others. Sleep is essential. Discipline is key, do the work when you don't feel like it. Have a routine.

Summary to discuss various study strategies for achieving high grades in school. The main points covered in the video are as follows: 1. **Active Recall**: Active recall is a study technique where you actively try to recall information from memory, such as using flashcards or testing your knowledge. It is an effective method for improving retention. 2. **Differentiating Classes**: The video suggests that you should recognize the differences between classes, particularly between test-oriented classes (e.g., math, science) and homework-oriented classes (e.g., English, history). Tailor your study approach to the type of class you are dealing with. 3. **Practice Problems**: For test-oriented classes, practicing problems is crucial for success. The more relevant practice problems you complete, the better your grades will be. 4. **Getting Help**: If you're struggling with a particular topic, seek out online resources, like tutoring videos, to help you understand the material better. 5. **Understanding Concepts**: In subjects like biology or psychology, understand the broader concepts by using the Feynman technique, which involves explaining complex topics in simpler terms.6. **Creating Effective Notes**: Develop effective notes that include analogies, acronyms, or other memory aids to help you understand and remember the material. 6. **Flashcards**: Create flashcards or use tools like Quizlet to review definitions, theories, and formulas. 7. **Class Attendance**: Actively participate in class, complete practice problems, and engage with the teacher. This can help you absorb the material more effectively. 8. **For Homework-Based Classes**: Complete homework assignments and projects with care. Seek feedback from your teachers and make the necessary improvements to your work. 9. **Importance of Sleep**: Adequate sleep (8-9 hours, especially during high school years) is essential for memory retention and overall well-being. These are the key takeaways from the video. The video emphasizes the importance of personalized study strategies and adapting your approach to different types of classes, along with time management and a disciplined routine for effective studying.

Sometimes with english, the essays are in-class. Here, usually they give a practice question which they say is very similar to the one within the test. Generally, it's true, but even with minor differences, the structure or the wording of the question not fitting your essay could stump you. What I like to do is do my draft response essay to the practice question. I then edit, get it polished up, ask for feedback and what not. I go back, memorise the thesis. This is so yk exactly what your writing, and exactly what you need to change in case the question is different. next is memorising your quotes, their techniques and their analysis. you want the analysis to be DEEP. so you go through what the technique does, what the point of this is, and how it relates to a larger idea or theme. You want to analyse a quote to the point where the marker can't ask 'so what' anymore. You don't need to memorise sentences of the analysis, just points. alr thats it, gl yall

Yeah i agree its so important to foster good relationships with your teachers. In England we get predicted grades in year 12 which we send off to our universities which is based off class performance, attitude in class, test results etc so it's crucial to get on your teacher's good side and show them that you work hard.

I know he touched on how to finesse a good grade on an essay, but first you actually have to make a good draft. Here's the best way to do that: 1. Google essays that related to your prompt. Note down words, sentence structures, and paragraph structures that they use. 2. Go to any writing clubs or ask your smartest friends for advice on essays. 3. Come back one day later and read your essay. Make sure to focus and check if each word and phrase is saying what you want it to say.

Something that helps me alot, especially with process-based stuff like math, physics, etc. is to “teach” it to yourself. Go through a problem step by step talking aloud to yourself and explaining what you’re doing, as if you were teaching yourself the material. Really helps me retain stuff when I have to explain it out loud.

It's a good video. You are right about the interaction with a teacher. I'm saying this as a teacher. It's important for every teacher to do a useful good job. And even if a student doesn't understand things, getting a C but trying to ask questions, learn, and rework his mistake it's completely changing everything! Everyone can Google any information and have an answer immediately. But when you understand how to study, think, and understand concepts and which questions ask, this is another story and gives you real knowledge!

even though i'm an introvert that don't like/need validation and praises, getting people "shocked" at my accomplishments (whether they know me or not) definitely feels good

it's a good thing my calculus teacher encourages that we do the problems after she's done teaching (10-20 mins of time after usually), but the homework is quite steep

5:30 I noticed I shouldnt do homework for other classes mid class because it unfocuses me from the material im learning. For example finishing math work in history. It just keeps my brain on math from the period prior but I use those like 5 minutes of passing time to wipe my mind and restart for the next class
