But I messaged Ryan on instagram a little while back about advice on long distance relationships...his heartfelt and sincere reply made me appreciate your relationship and hearts as human beings so much more. Thank you for shining such a positive light, always! I suffered from anorexia nervosa for years, and now that I am in recovery, it brings so much pain to hear such a thing be used as an insult or just tossed around like nothing. That illness took away what should have been some of the best years of my life, and it is so much more than a physical ailment. The comments I see like "ew, you're anorexic" break my heart. Why can't we love and embrace all body shapes and types? That mental illness is NOT a body size!!!! Your body is beautiful, and a body 8 sizes larger or 8 sizes smaller than yours is beautiful. Our bodies literally house or souls...we gotta take care of them and LOVE them! Which is exactly what you do. I love that. Keep pushing and being YOU!

Brooke Naumcheff I have so much respect for you and people like you. We need to stop hiding our hatred through messages of "concern". I used to weight 45kg when I was on my twenties ( I had being skinny my whole life). People felt entitled to talk about my weight. I wasn't ill, I was skinny. Some people used to call me "bag of bones" instead of my name, like it were funny. Now I weight 57kg (which is the perfect weight for my lenght) now I'm being called "fat". It hurts me. I look at the mirror and don't think of me as a fat person. The last years, I have noticed that there's an increase on body acceptance towards people who weight more than "expected". This is now used to criticise skinny people.

Another tip if you're too hesitant to ask a stranger for a job interview is to ask a stranger for a 30 minute meeting about their job/company/industry. It's flattering to express interest in someone and that's a great way to get your foot in the door or build your network. I've seen several times where people come off super abrasive when they straight up ask for a job.

Not at all, Ashley! In fact, I'm really glad you spoke out about it. People need to realize that not every thin person has an eating disorder... it just doesn't work like that. It affects people of all sizes, genders, and ethnicities. On the other hand, people aren't always used to seeing naturally thin, healthy, active people in this day and age when obesity is on the rise. You're a role model to many young women, including myself, and hearing you speak about this issue could help many people.

I totally agree with you when you said you get defensive about others calling you anorexic. I'm 5'2, 95 lbs, was always thin, and I always get comments that I'm too skinny and sometimes anorexic, even though I'm not. People with anorexia are battling with themselves, and I just hate that people throw that word around like it's nothing.
