Thanks for the tips! I've been making my own febreze for awhile now as well. The snuggle and gain beads also make great sprays! They also say you can use them in the wax burner but I've never tried it. I pour baking soda down my drain ,about a table spoon then pour down white vinegar to freshen my drain weekly. And I also put drops of lavender essential oil on the inside of my toilet paper rolls. When they turn on the holder the roll releases the scent.
@rebeccamartin18585 жыл бұрын
The beads should never be used as a spray or in a wax warmer. They are made to be dissolved and washed away. They leave a highly flammable coating when used as a spray that traps odor causing dirt and bacteria. They are never ever meant to be heated. When heated, the chemical composition changes and they release toxins that can shut down your respiratory system. Never ever do that.

These are good tips but some things to keep in mind from someone who runs a laundry business; avoid putting any kind of oil into the dryer directly with your laundry. You might end up with little oil spots on your stuff. If you want your laundry to smell nice, try use scents during the wash cycle, then dry your laundry on a low setting for half the time and then turn it to warm for the rest. High heat burns off most good scents you just added. Also using dryer sheets to wipe down upholstery isn't a good idea because it will just build up that residue on the surface of your chairs. Also use distilled water for diluting cleaning sprays you plan to keep for a while.

And twice this month I actually heard an airplane. Every day is the complete absence of noise, just nature. I recommend renting a cabin in the mountains to restore your peace of mind. Before we bought a house we stayed at Laurel Mountain Cabins for 10 years in a row. Azalea cabin is the coziest one out of 7 cabins they rent.

Oh wow. These are all SOO helpful. Just another stain removing DIY Godsend. Baking soda, hydrogen peroxide, and original blue dawn dish soap. Listen. This combo will literally remove ANY stubborn stain from any fabric. Be it laundry, carpet, furniture, your shoes.... it has removed break dust off of white tennis shoes. Hot syrup off of a microfiber couch. Blood, urine, grease. It's amazing! 💗

@unaladybug5 жыл бұрын
Meredith Hammett how much of each ítem? For how long do you leave it? Do you wash it off with water at normal temperature?
@MeredithHammett5 жыл бұрын
@@unaladybug it will all depend on the size of the stain. So if it's a small stain, just use about 2 teaspoons of baking soda, 2 teaspoons of peroxide and 2 to 4 drops of dawn. If you formed a loose paste, you are good to go. If the stain is bigger just double the amounts. It's one of those things that you can just eye and it works fine. I definitely wouldn't let it sit on anything long. And ALWAYS wash or rinse (depending on what you are treating) with cold water. Anything luke warm or hot will set the stain. 💗 also thought I should add... I use a cool damp wash cloth to scrub the stain. Or a very soft bristle tooth brush depending on whatever the stain is on that I'm trying to lift!

Another tip is to put the washing beads into a sandwich bag, poke tiny holes in it and place it in your dresser to keep your clothes smelling fresh. And after your candle has burnt out, scrape the leftover wax and put it in a wax melting wall plug to get total use out of every drop of wax. You can also put that wax in a bag and in your dresser. I also lightly mist my walls every so often with fabreeze to keep the pet odor from staying in the walls!

I use the Downy Beads in a wax warmer. I have 3 warmers throughout the house. And I make the solution like you with them to spray and freshen fabrics! Also, keep your AC air intake filter changed frequently and I add a few drops of essential oil to the actual filter before I install it.
@rebeccamartin18585 жыл бұрын
You need to discontinue doing that. That can kill you. If you insist on using a warmer, use wax melts. The chemicals in those beads are meant for water only and release a harmful substance in to the air when heated. It also leaves a thin layer of residue on everything that you spray it on that traps dirt and odor causing bacteria as well as making everything it lands on extremely flammable. You're endangering the lives of everyone in your home by doing those two things. As toxic as the fragrances in some candles are, candles, wax warmers or even regular air freshener spray are safer than what you're doing now. You could easily switch to essential oils all the time and replace all of those more harmful substances but serious, the spray and the beads in the warmer can kill you.

Small ice cubes in the garbage disposal clean it up and refresh it! Another one of my favorite ways to get good clean air is using a air filtration system, especially with pets and kids! And for fragrance I really love doing a diy potpourri! Dehydrate any flowers you’d like (we love rosettes and lavender) and add any oils you favor! We do rose and lavender! You can also dehydrate sliced citrus and add any citrus eo. We do a mixture of eo and alcohol place all of it in a bag and sprits mixture let it really penetrate. Leave in the bag for maybe 30-45 minutes and place them in a basket or a decorative bowl!

Add essential oils to baking soda to create carpet powder. I boil down rose and flower petals to put in the spray. Put scented Epsom salts in closed areas like closets, bathrooms,dresser drawers etc.

Baking soda breaks vacuum cleaners over time just FYI.

These are all great tips. Thanks for sharing them. One thing I like to do which makes all of my clothes, bedsheets, towels, etc smell good is that I buy scent packets and put them in my linen closets and drawers. They really make a difference.

I do the baking soda carpet thing too! I learned a trick with it.. mix any essential oils you like with the baking soda first before sprinkling it on. I let my daughter choose her own scent for her room.. she picks "Candy cane" (peppermint) haha. I like lemon and lavender!

Using those scent beads as a spray is really toxic and makes whatever you sprayed more flammable. They’re meant to be washed out of clothes not sprayed and left sitting on fabric.
@roshalee58395 жыл бұрын
Really? I'm so ignorant about this kind of thing. That's dangerous then to be sprayed on curtains
@jasminevaliente965 жыл бұрын
Meh it's pretty watered down once mixed with water and look at the ingredients no different than a bottle of febreze or glade spray all of the stuff claims to be flammable fabric in general is pretty flammable with all the finishes the goal is to keep cloth from open fire 🤷🏽♀️
@rebeccamartin18585 жыл бұрын
@@jasminevaliente96 no. Not safe. Every company that makes the beads has had to make multiple statements telling people not to do this because it's dangerous. The company that makes it says it's dangerous!!!!

Those beads cost 3x more than a bottle of febreeze. Why not just use febreeze? Actually just washing stuff regularly & vacuuming regularly works perfectly fine for me, and I have 4 dogs!

Place the dryer sheets on the back sides of fans or portable heaters I've even placed some in the vents around the house for a all over clean smell quick

Use a scoop of your fragrance beads in your Dyson vacuum where you empty it. Makes it smell good everywhere you vacuum! 💕
