I've been using etching wheel cleaner for about 30 yrs. & it does work great, it's not too good with black plastic stuff under the hood of my truck so a little patience is best if doing an aluminum manifold like brushing it on in sections & rinsing often for anyone trying it. comet & a scoth brite works good too, my 70' Triumph center cases & head are bright white aluminum. Part of keeping things simple after it is clean is to wash everything with "Dawn" dish soap and water on a regular basis. I was taught the dish soap routine by a 3 time national speedway champion who's house I kept my bike with, after each race the clutch, carb, throtle chains, everything off the bike & into the bucket of soap & water!

It's a sandblasting cabinet. Not much good for sandblasting if it's wet inside, but a few simple changes between sandblasting and pressure water and it should be fine. Just remember sand doesn't like water, any water. But you can also use glass beads, nut shells etc in the sandblasted for cleaning up stuff like this.

Cameron I noticed you using an impact to get the Kickstarter apart then camming the Phillips drill bit out. The little dimple on the screw head indicates it's a JIS screw not a standard American Phillips. If you get the right driver it won't destroy the screw. You alternatively can grind the tip off a Philips to make a makeshift JIS driver.

Blue marine grease is best for bearings because it resists being washed out by water, but use anti seize on all shafts like axles and swingarm because it never washes out and axles will never need to be driven out. 👍🏿

For example like how to do a whole clutch assembly, I learned how to put a lowering link on a bike but honestly I'm learning more so about each part and what it does. I have a 2005 yz250f and I'm trying to figure out what I should do to make it look new and fresh. I'm forsure going to put new plastics and a graphics kit. A new clutch cover new levers maybe some new wheels down the line and make try to clean up the air box to make it look nice

@mikec15446 жыл бұрын
NukaMoto he has a couple videos where he shows his process with frames and they come out flawless. If you want the scratches out use high grit sand paper 600 then 600-1000-1500-2000 one at a time and then use mothers and buff it and polish it and it’ll come out in a mirror finish. That works on any al frame
@endurotruckererniedesjardins6 жыл бұрын
Use autosol aluminium polish and old white socks to rub. When you feel the grit wear down use more. Lil dab at a time . For big ugly deep sctatches. Polish then down a tad with 800 grit sandpaper n water. Dont sand much then polish.
