I've been thinking about making this video for a while. So here it is: an accumulation of my thoughts about sexuality and coming out, how I figured out my own sexuality, and my advice for you guys. As gay myself, I can relate to everything you said and you're right, we will never say this enough, representation matters! It doesn't matter to me one way or the other, but your descriptions of your "crushes" sound more like cases of admiration.

I really only described the feelings of admiration I felt for my gymnastics coach (which, I would agree with you, was more admiration than an actual crush). I just mentioned it because it was the first moment thoughts of questioning my sexuality really entered my mind. I briefly mentioned that I’ve had multiple crushes in my last years of high school and in university, but I didn’t discuss them in any detail because I would like to completely conserve their privacy - these were definite crushes though, not just admiration or thinking “this person’s cool”. It makes me so happy to see an increase in representation of the LGBTQ+ community also the increase of more LGBTQ+ individuals having a platform and sharing their experiences because it makes room for normalisation 😌

My wife went through a gay phase when she went to college, as many young women do. There are many jokes and saying about this phenomenon--"Lesbian until graduation", etc. That was back in the early 90s, so I can only imagine kids are starting that in high school if not earlier these days. We've been married 21 years now.
