I think the unown spawns are a real waste if they’re going to be full odds, would much rather get more of the rare regionals in their place. Also something super cool they could add would be free in person 1 star raids, basically the same as a research or egg check it would be a fun addition.

In comparison, I've seen 350 unown, and most if not all could have been shiny. Between johto tour, go fest 2022 August, hoenn tour, and now, these odds are abysmal, but AT LEAST I HAVE MY TENTH AND ELEVENTH SANDSHREW THAT MAKES IT WORTH IT

I got tired of seeing Pokémon that couldn’t be shiny. I caught like 5 of the regionals then passed whenever another one popped up. Wish I saw more unown

These two days were the best in my Pokemon GO career. I played for the whole 8 hours on both days with my best friend! I got 28 shinies on day one, and 20 on day two. I got so much XP and dust. Some of the best moments were when I caught three shiny heracross in five minutes, my friend getting a hundo Ray from the first raid and me getting a shiny 93% goomy on the final hour of the event. The unown shiny rates weren't nice though :(

I agree!! I played the full 8 hours for both days as well and I caught 46 myself, 3 being Shiny Rayquazas, and in the last 30 minutes of day two I caught about 8 shiny's alone, one being the shiny Heracross that I desperately needed. I didn't catch a single shiny unown either though. :(

Everyone seems to have much better luck than me, I got 4 on day 1 and 9 on day 2 and I played the full 8 hours both days with a ticket. My RNG sucks on every game it’s annoying

This was by far the best Global Go Fest. 17 shinies and most of the new ones but it was also great to be able to raid with global friends again. Loved the habitats and research on the first day but the raids and shiny rates on the 2nd were brilliant.

One thing I did like about the first biome with all the pink pokemon was that it was very easy to grind up stardust with audino, morellul and foongus. But yeah, the last biome really had the best spawns.

Started playing in January, so no GoFest experience until now. But 68 shinies over the weekend, and wasn’t able to play the first three hours on Sunday. So, I’d say overall it was a big success for me. I enjoyed it and hope to go in person next year

I would have LOVED to see the special trades and legacy bonuses extended past 6, give me at least an hour or 4 to chill with my friends after the long day, eat some dinner, trade some pokemon. Other item bonuses would have been beyond lovely too (extended egg, star, incense duration would have been a hum dinger!). But overall, I think they KILLED it this year, I had a great time. Didn't get as many shinies as I wanted and no shiny or good rayrays, but STILL - it was incredible. Already can't wait for next year! :D

I think the massive boosted catch rates for Snorlax and the Primals/Mega Rayquaza really helped the raid activity during the day. I managed to get enough XL candy to max a Rayquaza for a mega

I didn't go very hard this year because I had family activities that conflicted, but I still got a decent amount of shinies, especially shiny Shellos, which is so cute. I'm also really happy to have the chance to catch Pachirisu, and of COURSE, Mega Rayquaza!

This was my first GoFest and for the most part I loved it . Caught some cool shiny yesterday and got 19 Rayquaza today . None shiny but still had a blast. I live in South Carolina and it was awesome just seeing so many ppl having fun together . Had some as young as 14 and other in their 40's and 50's like me . Definitely need more of this in my life

GO Fest here fell on a weekend with a terrible heatwave (36-37°C) but I still enjoyed the rotating habitats on day one. Raiding for me was a disaster though. I don't have a local community to play with so I tried getting remote raiders to join, but all my discords were flooded with people wanting to host raids but not joining. This is completely understandable given how expensive remote raid passes are now but it was still such a bummer. Couldn't complete a single Mega Rayquaza raid because of this, only got a Kyogre and some Goomys in I think.

Great video Daxi. This was my first Go Fest as well as my girlfriends and we loved it. Grinded at the Chandler Mall in AZ. Tons of people there, raid lobbies filled up quick and made raids enjoyable, Caught 40 shinies in a day and a half. Great experience. 10/10 will do again next year.

This is my first year back playing pokemon go I attended the in person event in NY and played all hours of both. my global go fest was so much more better than the in person. I walked away with 78 shinies this weekend and only 47 from NY. personally i cannot complain about either because it was a great regardless. I started playin in january this year and these events have progressed my living shiny dex dramatically!! I hope everyone else was able to get at least one shiny pokemon they really wanted!

I had a ton of fun at my local park for GO Fest. I had heard that this particular park was the place to be in our area when it came to big POGO events, but I hadn't experienced it myself on this scale. Everything was lured up, the Primal raids always had enough people and the habitats always had at least a few things that were worth hunting for imo. I played for the whole 8 hours on day 1 and ended up with 16 shiny, though I cannot tell you how many I caught in total. The two others I met up with caught 14 and 22. We were all doing pretty good on shiny rates until the second half of the day. I was only able to play for about an hour and a half on day 2 unfortunately, but I did manage to catch a hundo Rayquaza on my second to last raid of the day and another 3 shiny. Sadly no shiny Ray though and because I had to leave early my Ray will prob be stuck at around level 42 for awhile, but I cannot complain too much since I got the hundo. (Also managed to get a hundo Kyogre on the Friday beforehand as well.) I agree the eggs were underwhelming. I didn't mind the extra incense spawns in addition to Unown, but I was mainly looking for Carbinks out of my incense regardless. The Pokestop tasks refreshing every hour was also super nice since it meant there were always tasks to do.

I completely agree on the eggs! As far as shinies, I got 24 day 1 and 27 day 2. I was very happy with my haul, I usually only get around 15 each day.

Overall great go fest season (first in person go fest and global for me) the spawn were nice and shiny rate was higher than expected, one thing that bothered me were the research task, especially on day 2 with so many raid ones it is a bit disappointing.

It was a great event overall for shiny hunters, for raiders, for free to play, for everybody the only 2 things that kinda just didn't add to the event were the eggs ( no hatch distance bonus ) and the day 1 incense ( mostly unknown and regionals that nobody needs 50 of )

It was amazing! Usually not that hardcore on Raids but I managed a good 43 Mega Rayquaza Raids today! Loved that Lobbies were full really fast and the best part about Raiding Mega Rayquaza was how it was so easy to take down (Being double weak to Ice) and easier to catch! (With the easier catch chance bonus) As a Bonus I managed to get lucky with the Rocket Balloon just as Go Fest Day 1 ended, where I caught a Shadow Cowboy Hat Snorlax!

Easily the best event i've played in Pokemon Go (only started properly July last year). I got a horde of 68 shinies, with a nice mix of them all. Only complaints is that I continued my trend of getting a ton of costume pickachus (which I hate) with 9 this year. Also didn't like that the primal/mega raids seemed to have equal spawning with Carbink/snorlax raids.

Niantic is definitely moving towards “pay to play” style. We already saw that coming with the past events as Dax said the paid events only getting better and more stable while the global portions are like playing any other day.

This event was free to play and if you paid for the ticket you're only really getting Diancie. Imo it was a pretty good year for f2p with the exception of the 9 free raid passes, which I agree with you there.

For example either fomo(Riolu) shiny boosted eggs or hope of shinies like this and many other events. I’ve just compared the shiny count at the end of the day with free to players as well as those I know who bought the ticket and the difference was plain to see

I really loved GoFest Global this year and grinned really hard both days with approximately 4000 catches, 60km walked, 80 shinies ... overall had a blast. I really was ok with the eggs being 7k but they should have had a higher shiny rate. I didn't see anyone hatching a shiny out of the 7ks and for that being limited to get and hard to hatch they should have increased the shiny rate from the 7k btw like seeing you more outside playing. Enjoyed meeting you in London with the incensed guys and have subscribed long ago but will watch your vids definitely more frequently.

This was the best Go fest I’ve played and I’ve played all the global ones. This was mainly because here is Scotland it’s rare to find people playing but this was by far the most people I’ve ever seen playing Pokemon Go in person which was amazing to see, the park was full of people and raid lobbies were constantly full. I heard lots of people, especially older people with their children saying that this is the first go fest they’ve played and that they started playing on the back half of last year which was amazing to hear. It made it feel like Pokemon Go is just now starting to get really big here. Oh, and I got 49 shinies 🥳

This was only my 2nd gofest and I found last year to be much better! For this years I got one shiny each day and I was grinding hard the first day. I got two shinies on day two only because I got a shiny Rayquazza from a raid-I was lightly grinding as I was focussed on Rayquazza raids. I am a F2P player and it felt like last year we had more that is now exclusively in the ticketed event (the collection challenges, better field research and more regional spawns) My pikachu’s and heracross all had 2* IV’s or lower.

Granted, I had to work during Go Fest, but I got six shinies. Including the Goomy. While Goodra is my favorite, I prefer the normal coloration to the shiny. I also got a near perfect non-shiny Goomy, only being like two pts off from Hundo. Hopefully I can knock out the bulk of the M. Rayquaza stuff in day 2, I’m going into such with a 14/14/14 Rayquaza from like 2019.

Day 1 ended with 42 shinies, and day 2 ended with 38 shines. I loved some of the special features that came with the global GOFest. I agree that the incense exclusives like pawniard in the wild leave the incense just with unown. This global GOFest was IMO the best one as of my experience.

I thought that this was a really solid Go Fest. I got 10 Shiny Pokemon on Day One and 12 for Day Two for a total of 22, which I'm really happy about. I was able to get two Shiny Heracross, which is one I was really hoping to get, and I got the Shiny Blue Crown Pikachu. I had surprisingly good luck with most of the new Shiny introduced during the event, which normally doesn't happen for me. I even got a pink Shellos with perfect stats from the Special Research and hatched a blue Shellos. I even got an extra extra small Shiny Goomy. I played most of both days at home since I wasn't able to get out until mid afternoon, but my Shiny luck was still surprisingly good. I really enjoyed getting unlimited remote raids. It's hard to give Niantic too much credit for that when they basically gave back a feature that we had for years, especially when remote raids passes were still really expensive, but it was still satisfying to do a bunch of Mega Rayquaza raids. I got a Rayquaza with perfect stats from a Mega Raid, so that was amazing and a huge highlight of the event. While I'd want remove the limit on remote raids completely, or at least increase the limit, I do hope that they'll do something like again for future events at least. Unlimited remote raids for Raid Days would be nice, especially for the inevitable Mega Heracross Raid Day. I could see them doing something like this when they bring Arceus into the game since fans would definitely want to go all out for those raids, assuming that they'll put Arceus in raids. I'm so glad that the incense boost when stationary was available, even if it was only for players with a ticket. I still think it's lousy to lock such a good feature behind a paywall, but it's better than removing it completely and I think it's basically a necessity for these huge weekend events. I wouldn't have been able to enjoy Go Fest nearly as much without it, so I hope that they'll keep this feature for future Go Fest and Tours. I was a bit mixed on the incense spawns. I love Hisuian Growlithe, but unless they were going to introduce its Shiny form, I really would have preferred for it to not be an incense spawn or in the 7km eggs for that matter. I like being able to get some regional Pokemon, but I kind of wish that they had their Shiny forms available too. I'm sure that they wanted to save Shiny Pachirisu and Carnivine for the Sinnoh Tour next year, but given that I mainly focus on collecting Shiny Pokemon and rely on incense for these events, having all of the incense spawns be potentially shiny would be nice. I'm personally okay with using 7km eggs for these events. You are limited on how many gifts you can open, but you don't have to try to hatch non event eggs to make room for more event eggs. Aside from Hisuian Growlithe, I think that the choices were pretty good. They really should have reduced the egg distance though. Players would want to walk around more to hatch more eggs and Ninatic would get more money from all of the incubators.

This was my first go fest and after catching almost 1200 pokemon, I only got 9 shines. But in the hoenn tour, I got 22 shines out of 600 catch

Low rate for shinies for me, only 4 on day one and 13 for the event in total. Completed five or six Rayquaza raids, no shinies there. i was really happy to get some of the regionals: pachirisu was a big deal. I was satisfied with the end result but not the best Go Fest historically.

I played the event without a ticket (since I'm 100% a F2P player) and it's way different compared to ticket holders. For example, shiny rate increase... non existent. I only managed to get like 2 shiny's, one of which was a shiny Kyogre after day 1 ended, and at 1st I didn't want to do it, but did it anyway and got one that I might mirror trade until a hundo maybe, but I won't complain about that since I knew it wasn't going to give us a shiny boost. Besides that I managed to pull a hundo Shellos from research, as well a slap in the face with a 98% Carbink. Now on day 2 I think I had the worst luck with making raid lobbies EVER. I've completed 5 raids, 3 of which were from remote raids and 2 in person, but I had 3 extra raids I wanted to do, in which NOBODY JOINED. Like they would either wait a lot just for nobody to join, or they would join, BUT THEY JOINED IN THE LAST MINUTE, which was really annoying and I barely managed to get enough energy for Rayquaza. The 3rd remote raid I did was actually a last call luck, since I just had enough for another remote pass and got enough energy from that to get 400 required. By far one of the most annoying thing to experience.

This years gofest was insane for me, 39 shinies day 1 and 43 day 2, so for me compared to past go fests this was a HUGE win, got so many new ones to my collection and the people I played with also got around 30 shinies both days, such a great gofest and I hope you all also had a great gofest

The best ones I only got was a shiny beldum and shiny timburr. You would think the rate for shiny rayquaza would be higher but I just got one out of the raids I did

My only issues were no shinys on incense which i had running the whole time and the fact the half the raids in my area were absol or shadow articuno

Idk what happened here then, there were only 3 shinies over 2 days of playing, and actually hardly any spawns even with the incense on. Usually our local parks on community days are full of pokemon but not this time. But at least rayqueza was easy to catch.

I grinded this event so hard. The only shiny I did not get was audino, and the unown. All the others I had, multiples of most.

I bought a ticket and only caught 20 shiny Pokemon the entire weekend. I played at my local park with a group of friends, all of whom also bought the ticket. I guess my luck was just bad compared to them because I caught maybe half as many shinies as the rest of the group. My best catch was a 5-15-15 (rank 1) carbink, which isn't bad, but compared to others who caught shundos including rayquaza, it wasn't nearly as good.

Was actually a great global go fest, I would put it about even with my previous experiences (not including in person, NY was S tier lol) I got 14 shinies, and most importantly a hundo pachi to start walking 🚶‍♀️ 🎉

My friends and I walked together for almost 8 hours every day, I got almost 40 shines (in both days) and they got around 8 (most of them had the tickets)
