the wooden thompson is amazing and well made. will be a great uniform display piece. your wifes items re nice as well. the uniform looks great too thanks for sharing. glad you had a safe trip. you being a helmet collector i dont know how you didnt come out of that show with a couple nice us helmets unless the prices were too high.

Thanks. Helmet prices were pretty high on everything I saw. There were some reasonably priced here and there. Getting really picky on what I buy. The trip wasn't bad.

Another show you may want to check out is the Tennessee Military Collectors Association show in Franklin, Tennessee. Held Easter and Thanksgiving weekends.

I see those post cards at the small militaria shows around here... looked up the Oklahoma one and it is almost in Texas. Make sure you take advantage and use your toddler daughter as the Boomer kryptonite little kids are when haggling. :) Nice finds and it sounds like you had a good trip!

that was very nice of that gentleman to give your wife that camera! bravo good sir! undated mess gear is usually rock island arsenal 1917 or earlier. not sure when they stopped putting dates on stuff as ive seen some earlier stuff with dates. love the thompson. got a soft spot in my heart for woodworkers as my grandpa was a patternmaker. cant wait for the 9th armor video. great stuff as always.

I was wondering about that Thompson. I could tell it wasn't real by the way you were holding it in picture. A real Thompson weighs more than an M1. It's a very good and accurate wooden replica.

Real nice video. I have an old IMA Thompson dummy with original Savage made 1928 A-1 parts including barrel w/ Cutts Compensator ,on a solid aluminum Receiver. I really like it. I paid about $900 for it 15 years ago ,but i dont care. Im 69 now and no regrets. I also have two M1 helmets im going to dig out to try to date. I think they are 50'sto 60's.🪖🪖

I have an original Auto-Ordnance 20 ,and Seymour 30 round magazine and a repro 50 round Drum.🪖 That wooden one is a real piece of Art.And the canteen.🪖
