I remember my graduation. In January 1996 my parents decided out of the blue they were buying a house and that we were moving in a couple of days. When we move the house wasn't even finished being built yet. Now mind you, I had already passed all of senior exams, bought my yearbook, cap n gown, diploma, etc. All of that was NONREFUNDABLE! So I wasted my money. I get enrolled into this school which was predominantly then and not me. Now May of 1996, my graduation...my mom is driving me and my little brother to UCF for my graduation on the way we get into a accident. My mom asked me...if I still wanted to go. The look I gave made me scared. So we get there and when they called my name to walk across the stage....CRICKETS!!! Not one cheer from my mom. I was so defeated. I got my diploma and walked back to my seat. I was so mad at my parents for a couple of years. I had everything lined up even my employer was going to pay for me to go to college. (I worked at a dental office during high school). I was 38 hot🔥 .

My daughter graduated from Lane Tech in Chicago and there was about 800 to 900 plus graduates so everyone just stood up and was announced graduated. No going across the stage or calling out names 🤣🤣

Be thankful. My daughter graduated from USC (University of South Carolina) in December and there were 2,000 graduates and they called EVERY SINGLE NAME!

@@shamarlahart685 Oh, my. I was grateful considering the huge graduation class, it was outside and about 100 degrees in the shade. That experience was 20 years ago her college graduation was much smaller and she decided not to attend her graduate ceremony.

My graduation/party was hectic as well. I rented a condo by the beach and to transport a big pot of gumbo and trays of food and had to take all my decorations down cause they had me in the wrong condo rental...had to leave the ceremony right after my graduation to deal with all that shit but still had a good time...you can plan all day long but things happen 🤦🏾‍♂️lol

congrats to your sister....my niece graduated yesterday & omg that was the most disorganized mess ever....the mic didnt work well for folks whose voices didnt project well & they let the students sit where they wanted soooo there was noooo order to how they called the names & they did it frickin rapid fire....sheesh...and it was @ like a indoor stadium so we couldnt see her from where we were because we didnt go closer to where the actual seats for the graduates on the floor of the stadium because there was ALOT of us so it was hard to find room for us all to sit 2gether...sooo we couldnt tell WHAT names were being called so we thought we missed her like 3 diff times and i was STRESSED....thank goodness we ended up not missing her name being called but it was a MESS & her high school is FIRED for that unnecessary chaos...ive NEVER been to a graduation where they didnt call the names in alphabetical order or have the names go across the screens or SOMETHING...BUT congrats again to your sister and aaalllll the graduates

Congrats to your little sis. My goddaughter had her prom the same day and graduates next week and she’s a smartie too. As far as your family’s total disregard for your sister’s dinner plans on Sunday, I am glad you didn’t go off. Once I heard the change in plans I would have confirmed with Baby Sis that it was her idea. If not, I wouldnt have been part of the foolery. Hopefully you all will have a great time when you redo the dinner. Sometimes it’s just good to keep it simple…less headache.

I have missed every graduation of my life so far. I am currently in the uk and there is no graduation for secondary or sixthform (closest is high school for yall). I left Canada in year 8 ( 3 months before graduation and I was on the roll for VALEDICTORIAN) I left Nigeria in year 6 (Canada year 4 school system differ) hence I missed my graduation just 1 month before. In kindergarten I switched schools and in Nigeria it’s more smarts than age so I skipped a grade and never technically graduated.

I tripped at my high school graduation before we could even get seated. 🤦🏽‍♀️ 🤣🤣🤣 I didn’t think anybody from my dad’s side would show up, so I’m thinking it’s just my mom and her family there. We’re walking out to get seated, and right before we get to the seats I hear my sister start calling my name. I looked and she was in the front row going off. Next thing you know, I tripped over one of the mats and almost fell in one of the chairs. I had on flats, so I was able to catch my balance in time. 🥴🥴The guy behind me kept walking like it didn’t happen. 🤣🤣
