Very, very informative! Thank you for taking the time out to tell us what to do, what to expect. I'm thinking about getting sistalocs myself and I have tons of questions to ask and finding a good consultant that have experience in doing them. I absolutely loved this video. I have so many questions for you. I think am thinking that I want to start my journey in August of this year for my birthday.I know everyone's hair journey will be different but our texture looks very similar and just wanted to know more details of your experience so far from beginning to end if you are willing to share.

Great information. I also ask many questions but you answered the majority of them. Thank you. Can you share who your consultant is and what state she's located? Blessings.

+Robin F Hi Robin. I live in Virginia and my consultant lives in Dumfries, VA. If you are close to that area I am more than happy to provide you with her contact information.

Each consultant I've spoken with wants to put in the test locs on the first visit (consultation)? Did you do that or did you visit the salon and look at their portfolio without the test locs? Did those inquires cost you money? Thank you!
@MizzNette1007 жыл бұрын
Hello, I want to say yes. However those test locks are dependent on if you choose that particular consultant. Each consultant you choose to physically sit down with will charge you a consultation fee, whether you choose to go with them or not. So that's why it's important to ask as many questions during your initial conversation (on the phone). Then if you decide to go to their place of business & see their portfolio you'll know that visiting them will only solidify your choice. During your consultation is when they put in the test locks...that's if you choose to go with them. But either way you will pay a consultation fee. I hope that makes sense. If not let me know & I can try to better explain.

Yes, it does make sense. Thank you!

I saw a Sisterlocks Consultant charging a flat rate for re-tightenings charging a flat fee of $1000. That seems excessive to me. What do you think?
@MizzNette1007 жыл бұрын
Yes $1,000 for re-tightenings is excessive but are you sure that $1,000 isn't the rate for a sisterlock install? Re-tightening fees are usually charged per hour. So like my consultant's fee per hour for a re-tightening is $30...which would never come close to paying $1,000. So if the $1,000 is a flat fee for a sisterlock install then $1,000 sounds about right. But $1,000 would be more beneficial for someone with longer hair...like 8 inches or more. Now if you have short hair...like 2-4 inches in length, then $1,000 would be excessive (in my opinion). So in my case my consultant charged a flat rate of $450 (I believe) for 5 inches or less & then $50 for every inch after 5.

Yes, the ad said from now on re-tightenings will cost $1000. I'm going to go back and take another look and send you the link to be certain. In any case, I'm taking the SL training in August and I'll be doing my own re-tightenings. But I was shocked when I saw that. Not only does your video guide folks who are considering Sisterlocks, it also gives from a clients perspective on how a consultant can make a good impression. Very informative!
@MizzNette1007 жыл бұрын
Oh gosh I sure do hope it's misprint or a typo cause I don't know who would agree to paying that much for a re-tightening. And I'm glad the video could help. I definitely want to give all potential sisterlockers, even future consultants, a good perspective. Thanks for watching and much luck on the class. :)

I know, right! Ok, I checked again and it sounds more like she's tired of folks showing up late. It says effective February 2017 - $1000 will be added to all re-tightening fees - If over an hour late for appt. without prior notice you will be required to pay $1000 per hour and $500 per half hour after first hour late. Here's the link: facebook.com/Sisterlocksbykandie/ Still pretty intense but I can imagine she's tired of late clients, lol. Tell me what you think okay. Although I think I might come up with another solution to that problem but it's her business right. Maybe she's trying to weed out "bad" customers.
@MizzNette1007 жыл бұрын
OMG all I can say is wow!!!! I don't even know where to start. I assume, like you said, she is frustrated with folks showing up late. Cause money is time. However this is a bit extreme. I am thinking this will be a great deterrent but it can also be a huge turn off. Like if I am sick or late and have to cancel in less than 24 hours will she force me to pay $1,000?! Phew...I cant even imagine.
