hey! I just wanted to clear up that the "skincare routine" I showed in the video excludes washing my face with a gentle cleanser! I just removed my makeup (pretty harshly too oops) and put on a bunch of moisturizer on the dryer parts so I could go out for a little. When I got home I did my actual skincare routine! I can do an updated video on that too if you guys want lol! like this comment if u wanna see that :) love u !

Yeah, no hate to you at all, I understand how much you want the acne to go away... But if this is your skin care routine, then your skin is not getting any moisture at all. Also, you really shouldn't be exfoliating your skin when you are on accutane, it's just going to add to the dryness... Good luck though, girl! Hope that the acne improves, but just know that you're already beautiful!

I was on accutane and learned so much about how to take care of skin. I never did the whole juice cleanse thing because it’s just a way to use up money. Drinking water will do WONDERS. Lots and lots of water. I used cream removers for makeup, never NEVER use harsh chemicals your skin will get ANGRY. Cetaphil is great and still use it to this day and also use a very hydrated cream for nighttime. The key is the less the better whether it’s the ingredients in the products or how many products you use on your skin in total

@arialee27585 жыл бұрын
She said that its actually because of a laser treatment she had few months ago
@wizdomperez54045 жыл бұрын
@@emmaareale I'm clearly exaggerating. But her skincare routine is not helping at all. By rubbing her face with a make up wipe, towel, and exfoliating pad she's terribly irritating and inflaming her skin. She also didn't moisturize her whole face which is gonna lead to it being oily to compensate for the dryness. And she didn't even wash her face with soap, and a make up wipe and water does not get all the makeup out of her pores, so she still has a good amount of makeup residue inside of them by the end of the routine.
@LittleSparklingStars4 жыл бұрын
emma reale there’s skincare video’s of her from a year ago where she had PERFECT skin. Pretty sure this girl has been going ham on her skin and that’s why she’s gotten acne recently, probably stuff like coconut oil and not properly double cleansing after make up. Physical exfoliation is NOT IT when you have acne girl. I've struggled with it for many years and done so much research I could write books longer than the Harry Potter novel series. An oil-based makeup remover will minimize skin irritation as well as chemical exfoliants. I know they sound scary but they can actually be so much gentler to the skin, removing dead skin evenly without physically aggravating the acne. I used to use a wash cloth and wipes too and there really is no way for it to be "gentle" and fully remove the makeup and dirt. Please look into this!
@Nt-ns6dj5 жыл бұрын
I was coming to say this. And if she insists on a wash cloth that one is way too abrasive and I'd use a micro fibre towel too take off an oil cleanser instead but she needs to be gentle and not irritate her skin.
@hehehe85785 жыл бұрын
She’s being way to rough on her skin and al her products are such a typical insta skincare product rave that doesn’t work on acne skin. I can see why she’s getting acne as the way she treats it is aggravating it and wearing makeup doesn’t help as it blocks your pores from breathing and ends up clogging it

Summer, words cannot explain how much your videos recently have helped me out with coming to terms with my acne. I’ve been suffering with acne for two years, and it’s at a mild/moderate state right now. Regardless, your videos have helped me in many aspects. 1. Being in social situations with little to no makeup and still trying to be confident and 2. Making me feel like I’m not the only one going through this. While I still wear makeup out in public, to work, even to school, you’ve made me more comfortable to even hit the corner store without concealer/foundation. The hardest part about it is seeing the people around you who aren’t going through the same thing, which makes you feel even worse about yourself in general. This is how I felt with KZbinrs when I did have acne that was inflamed all over my face. But now, when I come to your channel I enjoy your content even more. Every time I leave one of your videos, it makes me feel like there’s someone who I already loved before, going through the same things as me. This has made you someone I come to when I’m having one of those days where it’s hard to look in the mirror. I feel like I can connect with you on an even deeper level. I know that it must be hard for you. I couldn’t imagine being as open as you are with millions of people. But the fact that you do it for your audience who are going through similar situations as you has made me admire you even more. I love you Summer, and I hope we get through this together. Can’t wait to follow along your journey and see you glow even brighter than before. I love you, have a Merry Christmas 🎄☺️

I’m on my second month of Accutane and my face is already clear of breakouts! I still have a ton of scarring for years of acne and fresh pink scarring from the initial purge I had for about two weeks on Accutane but my face is baby soft and makeup sits so well on my skin bc of my skincare routine: AT NIGHT -remove makeup with DHC cleansing oil -cleanse skin with Kiel’s ultra gentle cleanser -use AHA toner (1 or 2 times a week ONLY- this helped treat any existing acne without over drying my skin) - use rosehip oil -use vanicream lotion (this stuff is the most moisturizing product I have used and really locks in the facial oil) After all this my face is super dewy, hydrated, happy, and calm! MORNING - same face wash - super goop sunscreen - same moisturizer - Mac fix plus (if going in with makeup after) - elf hydrating prep balm ( if any dry patches that I want to smooth before makeup) Pro tip: Apply aquaphor to any severe dry patches at night and exfoliate those dry patches off with a warm wash cloth after washing face in the morning - the dry skin will literally rub off! SCARRING - rosehip oil - nadinola cream ( this stuff seriously works at fading scars fast but be careful to only apply over scarring region and stay away from the eye area)! LIP BALM - aquaphor is my holy grail - laneige lip mask used throughout the day - any lip balm with spf is extremely important if you leave the house Hope this helps!

hi summer! I really admire the fact that you’re so transparent with your fans, it’s really refreshing🥰 I wanted to recommend using the Original Makeup Eraser instead of makeup wipes because it doesn’t need anything but water to fully remove your makeup and might help with your skin! I started using it about two months ago and absolutely love it!

It's so refreshing to see such a big youtuber/influencer showing their real skin with acne. I struggle with acne myself, and always feel so insecure about my skin whenever I see youtubers and influencers with flawless skin, wishing I looked as "perfect" as them. So thank you so much for sharing your acne problems with us. It really help me to embrace my skin for what it is and feel less insecure about it

I would definitely try a cleansing balm/oil over wipes. I know the drunk elephant one is fragrance free. Also the drugstore brand cerave is supposed to be really good for sensitive skin and is highly recommended by dermatologists

Summer!! Please read! I finished accutane in May. My skin was terrible and it completely healed me in five months and now I never even get a zit. It’s INSANE because I thought I would never have good skin... ever. I dealt with it for years. BUT I reallllly recommend you simplify your skincare while on it to maximize healing. You just need a simple face wash and simple moisturizer (I used Cerave for both). Also ditch the makeup wipes. Get an oil cleanser for your first cleanse and then do Cerave moisturizing face wash and then face moisturizer.

And also you basically just have to deal with the dryness. It’s really really worth it I promise! You’re beautiful- acne or not! I know it sucks, but keep your positivity :)

your irritating your skin Way toooo much... pls stop using Make-up wipes and also stop rubbing this towel. Instead maybe use micellar water to Remove Make-up than use a simple gentle face cleanser without fragrance and alcohol and moisturize with a good moisturizer. I know good products if your internsted. I had acne myself and went on accutane 2

Girl seriously you help me a lot. I'm also struggling with severe acne and you showing your skin and sharing your journey helps me so much. So thank you for that. And don't worry you really look fantastic and gorgeous no matter what. I learned to look at acne as an illness and not as something disgusting or ugly. And as every disease it can be cured.

I know as young woman watching my sister go through her young years with really bad acne, it can make you really insecure about going out into public and it’s super hard not to stress about that , so I honestly applaud you a lot for showing yourself bare faced and you are so beautiful without and with make up . Plus having a positive attitude about it cause I know how hard it can be. Your eyes are the window to your soul and it’s glowing. Keep doing what your doing , because you’re doing amazing!!!!❣️❣️

I love that you are so open about acne because it really shouldn’t be anything to hide. It’s so important for young girls to realize that acne is normal and is not something to be ashamed of. I have had acne before and understand how much it tears down your self confidence, so thank you so much for being bold and embracing it instead of hiding it. Love you Sums 💓

i don’t appreciate all the rude comments on this video.. trying to tell her how to wash her face & treat her skin. she’s doing all she can to make her skin better - hence the accutane!! personally, i love how open she is about it & the fact that she’s confident enough to post a video of her skin during this process. it’s super brave & she’s helping others who struggle with the same things by simply posting a genuine, raw video of herself. let’s appreciate that.

you are such an inspiration! instead of being negative about it you’re super positive and it’s empowering. i didn’t struggle with acne too much in high school but now i have really bad acne like that at the moment (i’m 22) and it’s more embarrassing as you get older but sometimes in genetics and hormonal changes when you get in your 20s it can flare up. my mom had adult acne until 26 so i know it’s genetics and hormone changes plus i stopped birth control. but it’s reallyyyy bad rn and people at my job have been calling me out and trying to embarrass me and think my hygiene is bad when i’ve done everything. i’m going to get that cetaphil moisturizer and some new products and hope it goes well🤞🏼 thank you summer! much love 💘

i love ur videos! Plus you are so genuine. Acne is something you cannot prevent but you can control slowly but surely! It is crazy it could really make anyone feel so insecure because it seems to take on such an immense negative role, however, never think acne is ‘bad’ because it is LIFE and it is natural. Acne never can or will take away beauty sometimes confidence but in return we get back our confidence with some extra strength, reassurance, and experience. In conclusion, acne is not permanent no matter how bad but what is, is your mindset and your body so love it always because it absolutely amazing :)))))) it is important to mention ❣️

Hey summer, I just wanted to say that I have been watching you for years and I used to have horrible acne. Not only does it affect our confidence it is physically uncomfortable most of the time. Watching you over the years has given me confidence in myself because you have acne too and you don't try to hide the fact that we all have imperfections. You are a big reason that I can go to class with a full-blown active breakout and feel just a beautiful as I do with a full face of makeup on. You are putting your journey out on the internet and I think that is badass on so many levels. Acne suks and I really admire your ability to show everything to the world. I know you won't see this comment but I had to come on here and say thank you for remaining authentic even with your growing popularity on youtube. You are a great role model for young girls and boys everywhere and I think you are awesome. I hope your skin gets to where you want it to be one day. But just remember how beautiful and worthy you are in the eyes of God no matter what negative people may say to you. You are living God's plan and purpose for you every day by helping your viewers and that is amazing.

Summer, these acne videos make me feel so much better I never see influencers embracing it and looking in a positive light. This is my 3rd year of having acne and there are times when I feel like it has gotten better and other times when I feel like I have the worse acne in the world believe it or not bio oil and no sugar has helped my acne a lot but I still have a lot of scarring and texture. Please continue with these videos as it helps so many of us :))))

For accutane, I recommend you dont use the stridex pads or the cetaphil lotion. They both have fragrance that can be really irritating and accutane makes your skin more sensitive. You should use cereve foaming facial cleanser and cerave cream.

ive been on acutane for about 6 months . the treatment in the beginning was rough and i started out with very deep cystic acne . i have one more month on acutane and the results are shocking . around month 3/4 was when my skin finally started taking a turn and now my skin is flawless and glowing . Youre gonna gert through this and have amazing skin in the end . it was so worth it. It amazing to see that youre confident enough to post this . i wish i wouldve been able to talk about it . you got this
