I got acne when I was 10, started on my forehead, and now I'm 20 and it's mostly on my jaw/neck. Not as bad anymore, I use Cetaphil. I'll be sure to try out CeraVe when I run out of that and get a new moisturizer. Pray for me y'all lol cuz I'm tired of wearing makeup everyday

The earring on (my left) your right side was falling out 😭 I kept gazing back to see if it was going to fall or not Anyways, things are about to get real informative here 👇🏼 A few things I would suggest w/ any skincare is not using BOTH a chemical and physical exfoliant at the same time. Really, physically exfoliants are very abrasive to the skin and can cause more breakouts so I would stay away altogether w/ those but chemical exfoliants should be used only every other day (for lighter acids) or once a week (for AHA + BHA treatments). Lastly, remember to keep your skincare simple! Maybe a little guideline to follow is: makeup remover -> cleanser -> chemical exfoliator (not all the time ofc) -> toner (optional) -> serum -> moisturizer -> sunscreen **KEEP EVERYTHING FRAGRANCE FREE** Some recommended products I know of are: CeraVe for cleansers and moisturizers, The Ordinary for serums, sunscreen, and chemical exfoliants (glycolic acid has fragrance though but the rest is safe), alcohol/fragrance free Dickinson’s or Thayers for toner, and Bioderma/Garnier micellar water for makeup removal

I second everything she said☝️ just wanted to note that using too "drying" products can tell your skin to produce more oil. Cerave is amazing, but since salicylic acid can be drying I only use it once or twice a week. I had cystic hormonal PAINFUL acne and what helped me was to use more hydrating nourishing products. Give the hydrating Cerave cleanser a shot. If you still feel oily after, follow up with Cerave foaming cleanser. Double cleansing is super effective at really cleaning your skin just in a more gentler way. Same with toner. Witch hazel can be pretty drying, try incorporating a more hydrating & nourishing toner & you'll see wonders. With acne prone skin we tend to have a damaged skin barrier to begin with, so using too many harsh products can seem to work at first but just cause more damage & sensitivity. Niacinamide is EVERYTHING! Definitely keep that lol. Good luck!!🙏

Hi do you recommend the niacinamide for sensitive majority oily acne prone skin? I feel that my skin is beginning to look dull out of no where would adding this oil help with complexion, and dullness? Also are you still using it? Did it cause any break outs? I hope you respond 💕
@ModelMantha
@ModelMantha 4 жыл бұрын
Sasha Brown hey, so niacinamide is to help reduce oil production on the skin and treat acne as well as enlarged pores and scarring. So if your skin is looking dull I’d suggest exfoliating regularly and moisturize really well, try incorporating that into your skincare routine. I still use niacinamide I find it really helps with my oil production. I hope this helps!

@ModelMantha
@ModelMantha 4 жыл бұрын
Hey boo, I’d recommend using the ceraVe moisturizing lotion if your experience dryness also try hyaluronic acid I know it sounds scary but it’s the main ingredient in most moisturizers. The ordinary sells some for like 5 or 6 dollars. Also exfoliate to remove any dry patches and promote cell turnover that should help with improving any dry looking skin. Hope this helps!!

You gotta remember I’m tackling several skin issues not just oily skin, the SA cleanser is mostly for of course cleansing and congestion like white heads. The niacinamide is for oil control and scarring. I would just take from the routine whatever products you feel would help your skin but the cerave cleanser is a great cleanser and whether oily or normal I would recommend.
