Thank you so much for this video. Specifically the Iris motion sensor part. Iris is shutting down at the end of the month and I need a new hub that I can still use my Iris sensors with correctly and I think this is the ticket. I tried Vera and it was a nightmare.

I knew understood the need for smartthings. I am thinking that it's, like you mentioned in the video, easier to use one app instead of multiple. I have no problem using multiple apps because once you set up the smart house, depending on your gadgets, then its basically set it and forget it. I use alexa for controlling most of the major devices like thermostat, lights, alarm system. I rarely have to go to the phone because most of the devices are automated. Thanks for the video nice job.

I’ve got a Samsung TV that is compatible with SmartThings and is being controlled through my mobile phone but I cannot find the app on the TV and in the search it doesn’t recognise it why is this? I want to connect my ring doorbell to my TV but I can’t without the app on the TV

I do have to ask, why did you lower the volume for your command, but kept the volume normal when you said "Okay Google"? I'm sure you set off tons of Google Assistants.

@Kevin The Tech Ninja - I have a smartthings button, but when I push it to turn on/off the 5 lifx bulbs in my bedroom, it turns them on/off one at a time with a second pause in between. Does yours do that?

So I have a question since I’m new to all this smart tech stuff. Do you still have to have the philips hue hub with the Samsung smartthings hub to control the lights or does this take the place if the philips hue hub?

You actually still require the Philip Hue hub to be able to control the lights. I have Samsung smartthings and Philip Hue hub and since communication is only through internet between them and not Z-wave, Philip Hue hub is required for Samsung smartthing to be able to transfer the command. Without Philip Hue hub, the bulbs are dumb. Hope this helps?

Shawn Haggard we bought recessed smart lighting with adjustable brightness and kelvin. Adjustable kelvin allows you to change the shade of white light basically from warm to cool. So we prefer a warm white similar to incandescent at 2700K versus daylight white at 5000K. You still get the benefit of LED with the warm color.

I do not recommend, they produce products that are designed to be dead ( break) after the warranty I bought a Samsung smart thing in 2017 , components like Arrival sensor , motion sensor dead after 7 months Smart thing was on warranty so after about 10 months PC World replace for new one , and again same story month by month components going in offline mode and after 14 months all components are dead . Samsung support its another funny thing, when I asked about help they send me link to tech support for only £5 a month for the first month then £30/month Summarising 2 sets of Samsung smart thing dead in one year each , support paid , so waste of money
