My Snow Blade Attachment For MTD

My Snow Blade Attachment For MTD riding mower I had a snow blade for a AYP lawn mower , and wanted to use the snow blade on my MTD riding mower.The mount was not the same so i made one out of some metal i had . This mower has the fast attach option , a pin to slip attachments over and a hole for a pin to hold it on . I am sure there are a lot of ways to attach a snow blade on a mower , but this is what i came up with .

steve rob sent me, i did what you did on the front end with plywood years ago and used pipe and bolts to keep in the angle and a lever to lift the blade worked well. too much snow then so changed to a blower, good show, shall sub

Fabricating can be the most difficult, and sometimes the most rewarding. You made it so you can easily remove and attach again? Brilliant! I haven't done that with anything I've fabricated.

Good to get ready before it hits. Nice bracket design on the rider. Where I'm at we don't get much snow mainly ice. But they are predicting a wet winter, so we will see...lol

I have a Yard Machine like that, I gutted it out and did some alterations. Pulley swap, Straight Piped exhaust, Gas pedal, and a couple engine mods. I've been looking at videos on installing the snow Blade on my LT 2000 Craftsman and found out that it's missing a couple of parts. I'm only into it $50 so I am going to fabricate the parts. Looks like you are doing a good job of Fabricating yourself. Thank you for the video!!

I too have a mower with the fast attach system and there is no f*cking video on the internet that shows how this system works - except, of course, this one, and it doesn't even use the original fast attach snowblade. I am baffled and very thankfull.

Looks like a dam heavy duty bracket, i dont think a bought one would be so good. To me, it looks like the left/right needs a lot of force to move the plough, but thats the original attachment design and nothing to do with your modification. I would have a ride on mower but i only have a tiny back garden ha ha :-D

+zx8401ztv Well if it all was closer to tractor , the handle would be easier to reach . I will see this winter if it is going to do any thing , and if so , it would be easy to move it back some . but not sure it will even push snow .

+wtbm123 I suppose it depends on how much snow you push in one go, im sure you will find the weakest component and beef it up. The only other problem is the plough blade hitting the ground and stopping it dead (bend bend snap), perhaps an end stop needs to be made so it never hits the ground, a chain or something like that perhaps.
