I restored a John Deere 430 diesel last winter and looked for a snow plow while doing so. I couldn't find one that wasn't a thousand miles away and made of gold so I made a 60" plow blade and my own mounting assembly. The tractor has hydraulics but in looking for cylinders for a snow plow they were all single port cylinders and I needed dual ports . The smallest I could find were 6" stroke which is perfect, but they are 3000 psi. It goes up and down and left and right instantly! Took a minute to use finesse at the controls.

I have the same mower, and the plow and bracket but I’m throwing them to scrap because I can’t find the lift handle and almost break my ankles and toes when I trip over the damn things in the garage.

This is why America feeds the world, so congratulations on the ingenuity and industry. But also, at 3:06: "It's an easy connection." Then at 3:26, kicks pin into place!

That's an awesome job,but...lots of work for the fabrication. Cheaper to just get a used plow designed for the lt1000.

I absolutely love what you have done... i would love to get your parts list instead of re inventing the wheel.

David Phelps, I just copied the mount on a 112 and the rest was made from bolts cut off for pins drilled and roll pined to keep spring tension. Most of the steel used was from a scrap bin the electric servos work but what would work better is like what I did in my other videos where I converted an electric lift John Deere 112 to hydraulic. But most things on this build were scrap or bought on eBay.

Have the same mower. Looks great! Can you tell me the specific make and size of your tires. I am trying to find larger tires to not only raise my cut height but also improve ride. Thanks!

I believe they were factory size, I have no way of checking because he passed away last fall due to surgical complications. Thanks for watching

I've been out of commission since July 11 Some asshole ran a stop sign I ended up T boning them on my motorcycle I ended up with an open Break of the tibia and Fibia the bones were sticking out of my leg and I'm still not healed up yet as a result of The accident I also now have a hernia that I'm dealing with even at about 15 miles an hour the impact really messed me up and I do honestly believe he drove over my leg just the way the break is but it's easy enough to do it's a copy things measure stuff out and all you need is a wire feed welder you can buy cheap ones at Harbor freight

Really like this idea I have a John deere plow blade and have been thinking about doing the some thing with my rideing laen mower what size and power are the electric actuators and how much did they cost and is the plow controller wireless?

12v 6" and 8" but the pivot one broke right away so I found a heavier one, and the lift I made a lift arm and then a chain so the plow can float. Any other questions I would be more than happy to answer them. Thank you for watching and commenting.

Hi; I liked the way you hooked up the plow in this video. can you send me a parts list of the parts you used and possibly the modal number of the plow you used. it does not match any that I have seen for the craftsmen lt1000

James McDermott it was an old Atv plow That he bought from his friend for $50 and I just cut it down to work the pole used to mount to the rear hitch the rest is plate metal cut to a pattern similar to the John Deere 112 and some scrap iron from John Deere’s metal dumpster the liner actuators are from eBay the tilt one had to be replaced with a much heavier duty one made of steel and the lift one was modified using chain so the blade can float the lock pins for attaching are just bolts with the threads cut off and drilled for roll pins and springs from the hardware store they don’t need to be very heavy and a washer welded to the end of the pipe to retain the springs and pins. Thanks for watching and your interest. Any other questions I’m glad to try and help. A hydraulic lift and pivot would have been a way better setup but he didn’t want to spend that much money.

Can you make a how to video ? Or even just a more detailed walkthrough?

Andi Sanchez well sorry to say the guy I did this project for passed away a month ago and his family took all of his belongings so I can't make another video of this. But all I did was copy John Deere's basic design and modified to make it work however the electric servos don't stand up to ramming snow a better way would be hydraulics like I converted my John Deere 112. Thanks for the comment.
